From Burnout to Strength, Energy and Confidence

In 2025, after a prolonged period of chronic stress, I hit an all-time low. I remember sitting in a boardroom meeting and suddenly bursting into tears, admitting that I had nothing left. I had no energy or drive, I was lethargic and overwhelmed, and I had become apathetic even about things I normally loved doing. A doctor's visit and bloodwork reflected some of what I was experiencing, including low DHEA and elevated cortisol. As I approached 40, I had a very strong feeling that this simply wasn't me. I didn't want to accept that getting older meant progressively feeling worse. Like many women, I had received the familiar advice to exercise more, eat better and manage my stress. None of that was necessarily wrong, but I needed more than that. I wanted to understand what was happening in my body and what I could practically do about it. That curiosity eventually led me to Dr Mike's YouTube channel. I watched his content for months and started applying what I was learning. I particularly appreciated the science-backed, evidence-based approach to nutrition, training, body composition and women's health after 40. Eventually, I took what felt like a big step and enrolled in SculptHer. The results during my first four months convinced me that I wanted to continue. I was so happy with both the physical changes and what I was learning about my health that I subsequently signed up for another full year. By five months, I had lost 8 kg (17.6 lb) and 15 cm (5.9 inches) from my hips, and I'm still progressing. My physique is visibly changing, I'm stronger, I move considerably more, and my relationship with food, exercise and my body has changed. But for me, the biggest transformation hasn't been the number on the scale. I hardly recognise the woman who sat in that boardroom feeling completely depleted. I have a sense of energy, confidence and possibility again that I thought I had lost. One of the things I value most about SculptHer is the level of individual support and accountability. I meet with Dr Mike weekly, with additional weekly sessions with Dr Angela and Dr Kelsey. Having that regular contact means I can ask questions, review progress, make adjustments and understand why we're doing what we're doing. I don't feel as though I've simply been handed a meal plan and workout programme and left to figure it out on my own. The community has been another unexpected highlight. There are women at different stages of the same process genuinely encouraging each other, and the doctor-coaches bring both professional expertise and their own experiences of transformation. For someone approaching or moving through her 40s who feels exhausted, frustrated by changes in her body, or simply wants a more individualised and evidence-based approach to becoming stronger and healthier, my experience of SculptHer has been extremely positive. I initially joined because I wanted to change my health and my physique. I've stayed because what I'm building now feels much bigger than weight loss. For me, it's about strength, vitality, longevity and feeling like myself again.
