2 Years as an unpaid QA tester: Defective LUBA 2 & YUKA, firmware regressions, and bad-faith warranty evasion (Ticket: L2-901207590317326336)
I purchased the LUBA 2 directly upon release and backed the YUKA with Sweeper on Kickstarter. For over 2 years, I have squandered weeks of full working days debugging, uploading logs, and redrawing maps for two flagship mowers that never worked as advertised. Support ignored ticket history, trapped me in diagnostic loops, and delivered zero fixes—except an older LUBA 2 firmware rollback I had to fight months for, which was itself semi-broken. 3 FATAL DESIGN FLAWS ON YUKA: 1. Fleet Incompatibility: Side-by-side docking is impossible; LUBA 2 tries to dock in the YUKA base. 2. Destructive Wheels: Front caster wheels continuously seize, drag, and tear lawns to bare dirt. 3. Defective Sweeper: Algorithm ignores sweeper dimensions, causing constant collisions on every run. LUBA 2 DOCUMENTED ISSUES: * Broken Offline Mode (LoRa): Patched to death; mowers freeze if internet drops instead of running locally. * Destructive Steering: Aggressive zero-turns gouge deep ruts on damp turf; erratic spinning on signal loss. * Power Drain: Fails to auto-power off when stuck, draining battery to 0% (hauling 18kg by hand). * Obstacle Avoidance: Crashes into solid objects or halts in open lawn with false "trapped" errors; stops for tall grass on dock approach. * Drift & Vision: Boundaries drift 20-50cm; mower halts under light tree canopy despite 3D Vision. * Usability: Oversized safety buffers force heavy manual edge trimming; zero diagnostic transparency in logs; Bluetooth drops under 1m; no in-app firmware rollback. YUKA CRITICAL FAILURES: * Sweeper & Wheels: Delivered months late with colliding navigation; front casters lock up with debris. * Turf Gouging & Tracking: Asynchronous wheel speeds tear grass; repeats identical tracks into deep ruts. * Navigation: Random "freestyle" diagonal roaming and spinning; deck bottoms out on minor bumps. * Cut Quality & Drift: Misses wide strips of grass; virtual borders shift up to 1m; Bluetooth unusable under 1m. BAD-FAITH WARRANTY EVASION: After running down the clock for a year, Mammotion now claims the YUKA is "out of warranty" past July 13, 2026. Every single issue was documented and reported long before that date. Their only "solution" was an insulting 40% discount on another unfinished machine. CURRENT STATUS: Binding demands were issued on September 16, 2026 (Ticket: L2-901207590317326336) for a full refund and remediation damages. My 7-day deadline is ticking. Continued stalling leads directly to court litigation, ECC-Net filings, and full public video documentation. 19.10.2026 It took a while, but I'm glad we reached a point of agreement. To be honest, I couldn't even claim compensation for all the time lost and the damage the mower caused to my lawn, but I am happy to finalize the settlement Mammotion has agreed to. Let's close this case as soon as possible.
