Refusing to follow their posted return policy
I ordered a pair of Hareball 2.0. I really liked the style and was excited to receive them. After 8 business days, they finally arrived! At first I thought it was kinda strange that they didn't come in a box, but in a Hobibear bag wrapped in blue packing plastic. None the less, I opened the package and went to try on the shoes. When I was trying them on, I noticed that the shoe lace was damaged. I notified Hobibear that the shoes I ordered arrived damaged. They offered a 20 to 30% discount, if I wanted to order another pair as a replacement and to try to sell the other shoes myself. I declined. I requested a prepaid return shipping label, which they refused to provide. I cited their policy stating that if an item arrives damaged, the company covers return costs. The company replied that the damage was limited to the shoelace and did not affect wearability, and again refused to cover shipping. I responded that their policy does not specify damage must affect wearability, to qualify. The company maintained their refusal. After many days wasted replying to their abysmal customer service, I have stated my intention to escalate the matter to the Better Business Bureau and Small Claims Court, seeking reimbursement as outlined in their policy, as this is false advertisement. They added their personal bias into the mix, instead of just following their black and white policies. Don't ever order from them again. How hard is it to provide a return label?
