Got my Signal account hacked
I have used OnlineSIM since before 2020, but now I am completely done with this service. Their infrastructure has become a security hazard. As I did plenty of times before, I purchased a number to register a private Signal account a frw months ago. Just yesterday, my account was abruptly hijacked because OnlineSIM allowed someone else (or an automated bot) to access the exact same number and request a "Repeat SMS" verification code via their system, or to see my previous SMS history of that number. There's no other way for a hacker to find and target specifically the Signal app which was the only one that I used that number for. While OnlineSIM claims their numbers are private, their backend keeps numbers vulnerable to exploits such as this... If you use this service to secure private accounts, expect your accounts to be compromised.
