A Wonderful Teacher Who Makes Learning Meaningful and Enjoyable!
We’re really grateful to have Teacher Kellie guiding our daughter on her phonics journey! ❤️ Our daughter could already read when she first started lessons with Teacher Kellie, but we wanted her to develop a stronger foundation in phonics — to go beyond simply recognising words and better understand the sounds, patterns and rules behind how words are read and pronounced. Over the past several months, we’ve seen her grow into a more confident and capable reader, and it’s been lovely watching her progress! What we appreciate most about Teacher Kellie is how caring, attentive and thoughtful she is in her approach. She genuinely takes the time to understand our daughter’s personality, interests and learning needs, and meets her where she is. Knowing that our daughter loves reading and playing games, she thoughtfully incorporates these into her lessons to keep things engaging and enjoyable. She also happily listens to our daughter chatter about whatever happens to interest her, which I think says a lot about the patience and genuine care she has for the children she teaches. Another thing we really appreciate is how open and collaborative Teacher Kellie is. With our daughter entering primary school soon, we had a discussion about how we could nurture her interest in writing in a way that would be enjoyable and sustainable, rather than making it feel like another chore. We eventually agreed on introducing journalling, which I thought was such a lovely way to make something that might otherwise feel mundane more meaningful and interesting for a child who is still developing her writing skills. I really value that Teacher Kellie is always willing to explore new ideas and adapt her lessons as our daughter grows. She also keeps us updated on our daughter’s progress and is always very responsive to messages, which makes communication easy and reassuring. You can genuinely tell that she is passionate about what she does and takes great joy in teaching. Perhaps one of the best testaments to our experience is that our daughter has never missed a lesson and genuinely looks forward to seeing Teacher Kellie every Saturday morning! As parents, there’s nothing more reassuring than knowing that our child is not only learning and progressing, but also thoroughly enjoying the process. Thank you, Teacher Kellie, for your warmth, dedication and for making learning such a positive experience for our daughter.
