Gross Incompetence in Identity Theft Investigation — Wrong Names, System Failures, & Blaming the Victim

I am writing this review to publicly document the severe institutional failure, procedural negligence, and completely unacceptable handling of an active identity theft case by Bluevine. As a victim of identity theft, I followed every proper protocol: 1. I promptly reported the fraudulent activity to Bluevine. 2. I provided clear, exact paperwork and details—including the correct name of the perpetrator involved—so their fraud team could take immediate action. 3. I filed an official police report and submitted all law enforcement documentation directly to the bank. Despite having the accurate information right in front of them, Bluevine 's fraud team conducted a completely flawed investigation. In their official records, they listed the wrong person entirely—a "Christina White"—proving they did not perform even a basic, competent review of the evidence provided. Key Failures & Victim Blaming: Failure to Protect: Bluevine failed to initiate necessary protective measures on my account when warning signs were first presented. It was their lack of security protocol that allowed this identity theft to happen and escalate in the first place. Refusal to Correct Errors: To this day, bluevine denies their obvious mistakes, refuses to acknowledge the incorrect name used in their own investigation, and continues to deny my claim. Blaming the Victim: Rather than taking accountability for their security failures and negligent investigation, they have turned around and blamed me—the actual victim of the crime. Deceptive BBB Communications: When I escalated this to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Bluevine provided a completely contradictory narrative to the BBB compared to what they told me directly, misrepresenting the facts of the case to protect themselves. The harm, stress, and financial destruction caused by bluevine's refusal to acknowledge their clear errors is beyond measurable. A bank's job is to secure customer accounts and conduct fair, accurate investigations—not to ignore evidence, botch simple facts, and punish the crime victim. I am escalating this matter to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and federal banking regulators. Warning to Consumers: If you are a victim of identity theft, do not expect bluevine to protect you or even read your evidence correctly. They will make basic errors in their own investigation and make you suffer for it.
