Silencer Central

No support after the purchase is complete

I have purchased four suppressors through Silencer Central. The initial purchasing process was smooth, and their staff was knowledgeable and helpful with the paperwork and ATF process. Three of the suppressors have performed exactly as expected. Unfortunately, my experience after the sale has been extremely disappointing. In early May 2026, I purchased a Yankee Hill Machine Victra-12 shotgun suppressor for approximately $1,000. At the time of purchase, I was informed that the required shotgun adapter was temporarily out of stock but would be available in "a couple of weeks." Based on that information, I proceeded with the purchase. Nearly three months later (July 17, 2026), I still cannot use the suppressor because the required adapter has never become available. As it sits today, I have a $1,000 suppressor that is essentially a paperweight. When I contacted Silencer Central for assistance, I was told that it was not their issue and that I should contact the manufacturer, Yankee Hill Machine, directly. As the retailer that sold me a suppressor requiring an unavailable proprietary part, I expected Silencer Central to do more than simply refer me elsewhere. Even if they couldn't manufacture the adapter, I was hoping they could advocate for their customer, provide meaningful updates, or offer some type of solution. What has been most frustrating is the complete lack of information. There is still no estimated availability date, leaving me in limbo with an expensive product that cannot be used. The purchasing process was excellent, but customer service is measured by how a company responds when problems arise—not when everything goes smoothly. In this case, I feel abandoned after the sale. If you're considering purchasing a suppressor that depends on proprietary accessories or adapters, I recommend confirming that all required components are actually available before committing. My experience has taught me that once the sale is complete, you may be left to resolve these issues on your own. Update: Thank you for your reply. I appreciate that Ben was able to get in touch with me, and I can confirm that he did reach out to offer assistance. However, I do want to be transparent with other potential customers: the resolution involved me having to spend additional time and effort to get the adapter sourced on my own, and the core issue—that the part was sold to me without being available and with no clear ETA—still took nearly three months to resolve. While I'm glad we ultimately arrived at a solution, the process and the initial response from your team left a lot to be desired. I hope this feedback helps your team improve how you handle post-sale support for accessory-dependent products. I do appreciate the follow-up, and I hope my future experiences with Silencer Central are more positive.
