For tips on how to exploit this strategy from opponents, make sure to check out the Lessons section in the Learn menu. We have tens of millions of active players, so you're playing chess with real people around the world! Game pairings are not manipulated, nor are there bot accounts in use by Chess.com. If you suspect an opponent of cheating, you can tap their avatar to report it. We immediately ban any player found to be cheating!

We're constantly researching and expanding our detection methods to keep the game as far as possible. We're also looking into more ways that we could address the after-effect for the opponents of cheaters, beyond rating adjustments. This matters to us!

Sorry for the difficulties! Your color in the game is selected randomly, so this means you can have streaks with white or black. However, canceling games frequently with one color will result in the system pairing you with that color more often. You can choose your color in unranked games, games versus Friends, or in games versus the Bots. Game pairings on Chess.com are not manipulated in any way. Chess is very difficult, and we all experience losing streaks as well as winning streaks. If you suspect a player of cheating, you can report it by tapping their avatar.
