Recovered files from a corrupted SSD using iBoysoft

I recently ran into a scary situation where my external SSD got corrupted. It showed up on my Mac, but the files took forever to load and sometimes nothing opened at all. I had a lot of personal files on it, so I thought I had lost everything. I tried iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac and it actually worked really well. The scan took some time, but it showed me all my files and even let me preview them before recovery. The deep scan was the most impressive part because it managed to bring back files I thought were gone for good. If anyone’s facing the same issue, I’d say don’t panic and try a recovery tool first before giving up on the drive.

Not intuitive, but I still managed to view my files and it works great!

Once I figured out how to load the app and use the app to open the file, it worked flawlessly… hint. Print the instructions before you try to use the app. :) They are enough to get things figured out if you have a modest amount of computer experience…I’m not a regular apple user, so I might have struggled more than others will. Even so, it’s working fine now and I use it to connect to several different portable hard drives and SSD’s.

Requires subscription/payment after installation. Kernel driver also requires lowering system security. Uninstalled right after. Was not advertised on NTFS product website.

Recovered a backup of a lifetime

I got a brand new SanDisk Extreme Pro 1TB on my birthday. My first idea? Finally I can move all the usually unused 350Gb of historical files from my 500Gb Macbook. All the photos and videos too important to store in cloud, all the tax documents, research papers from my Uni, PoC of my ideas and many many more. Basically, everything I don't really use daily, but way to important to remove and way to sensitive (and huge) to store in the cloud. I've happily formatted my new disk and moved everything I hold so dear there and went to sleep. Days passed by and at some point I decided to move some new photos and videos to the disk. I've sent files for the transfer in the background and went with my business. At some point l've checked the progress and was surprised that it's still going on, but I didn't think much of it. After some more time the process was still not finished. I tried ejecting the disk, but it didn't respond. So I decided, so there's probably a problem with the macbook and decided to reboot it. How surprised I was that after the reboot my macbook didn't see the disk anymore - you can imagine. I've checked the data cable, thought something happened to the laptop, the port, anything. But nothing helped. Then I started researching, found bunch of commands on the internet I could run in the terminal. They showing some partitions, something else, basically that the data is still there. But for some reason, I couldn't access it, since there's no "container" or something like that. After days of research, I found a bunch of people with the same issue, and eventually - a support article, saying that there might be a firmware issue in my revision of the disk. All I need to do is to reinstall the firmware, and the problem will be fixed. Installing the firmware will lead to a data loss though... At that point I was pretty pissed and depressed, thinking more and more, that I'll have to call the guys restoring data on the corrupted disks. The problem with that is - they are usually paid per GB restored (at least in my region). So I continued the research and finally found a solution - iBoysoft Data Recovery tool. Finally I found something, capable of seeing and listing all the "lost" files, everything so important personally and all the projects I didn't want to lose. It took some time, of course, till the end I wasn't sure it will work, but finally, it did. So the moral of the story: • update firmware anywhere, look for known issues before relying on anything • keep backups of backups • use NAS with proper RAID configured But if something goes sideways, use iBoysoft Data Recovery!

I was not able to copy files from an encrypted NTFS filesystem to macOS. Every time I get the error message "initialization failed". The files were listed - that's all.

The tool I was after. Made my day.

So far, so good. iBoysoft DiskGeeker allowed me to download the macOS dmg's i needed, and to create the usb stick bootables, but i've not finished modifying and tested on my hackintosh.

A Mac file recovery that works!

I usually do not rewiev software, but in this case ... I had an encrypted external Mac HD with photos and movies from 23 years of family life, which suddenly refused to accept my password. • Apple's repair utility could not repair it. • Changing cables did not help. • An advanced Third-party repair did not help—although it detected something wrong with the file system, it was unable to fix it. • I tried to get through the Terminal without success. • A tech-savvy friend with another Mac and quite experienced couldn’t help. There is a bunch of software for this, but one recommended recovery app did not work, since the disk was encrypted with a password. I found and tried "iBoysoft" - as a free trial- as a last resort, without any hope. But the recovery program asked for and accepted my password and started to show files to recover!!! After one night of scanning, everything seems listed, and ready to recover as soon as I bought the program! Grateful that I could do the scanning first, and buy the app when it seemed to work. Which it did, above expectations! Well worth it! Such a relief! (PS I know – backup ... From now and on.)

iboysoft (data encryption, data recovery)

iboysoft - cheap company, small operation drive encryption, a phoney software service that will you of your money, and send you in a panic to spend thousands of dollars to get your data recovered. My experience was a customer service thread about why the password function would load for 30 seconds to a couple minutes causing me to reenter the password multiple times until opened. One day, upon logging in the drive was wiped of the data. Data recovery - fake software that will freeze your system. With a recovery time of 48+ hours, I waited for days at a time. I came back to see that the recovery froze at around 300-500GB Edit.4.25.25 (reply to Iboysoft initial reply): I’ve spoke to the customer service via email already. User email should be under the account user “Tyler Sneed.” My previous customer service threads about the login issue (password not working, and or loading for seconds to minutes), and me receiving no solution until all data has been erased is what tells me the customer service is either too small to replicate an error on their end or doesn’t care enough to solve a software issue. I have not received a refund for either the drive encryption nor the data recovery. The chances that malware and corrupted software from the internet has rendered the drive defected is low, because of the Apple firewall, and the Malware protection I use “CleanMyMacX.” The chances that the drive itself (4TB Seagate) has failed is possible, but should not be enough for the drive to randomly become unreadable. A 4TB Seagate drive is compatible with a 2013 MacBook as long as it is formatted correctly, so that isn’t a problem. Whether the iboysoft encryption software is compatible with an old fashioned firmware on a Mac 2013 or not is something the development team should’ve communicated with the customer service team during the time of my support thread. The drive experienced a reset from a couple random power outages. How this happened is because the laptop battery would’ve had to be connected to power at all times. This would cause a system crash that would be followed by a improper ejection. As a result, the hard drive with experience system crash, causing corruption to its internal data. On top of that, the encryption would have a hard time locating or reading the data sectors that might’ve been shuffled around during the system reset. This loan is not enough to log into my hard drive one day to see the contents missing. The encryption key could have been lost or corrupted…I think that might’ve been a cause of me not accessing the right part of the hard drive. The company Seagate doesn’t have a good reputation, and neither does Iboysoft. It was my fault to choose the companies from a user perspective.

It is not working as wall as it should…

It is not working as well as it should . It works well a few minutes and than everything freezes and I have to turm my MacBook off and the computer turn on again .

Very deceptive

Very deceptive. If you go to their website it says everywhere "Free download". There is nowhere you can see that it is paid software and how much it costs. However, once you have it installed and try to run it the price shows up. Waste of time not because of price but because of attitude.
