This is a bad product and worse customer service. The day after I bought it, I noticed it had two significant software bugs, a third design issue and a forth unclear behavior of the product. The trial did not let me fully try it out so I had to buy it, which is when I found the most of these.
In promptly going to customer service the next day to receive a full refund, they gave me the runaround. Even after I supplied them with succinctly-written descriptions of the issues. They threw it over to customer support, which was insincerely trying to help, with cheap copy/paste responses for each issue saying 'send a screenshot.' After agreeing to it, they rebutted on each response.
Finally after much back-and-forth over days, someone later replied asking will I take a HALF refund and keep it. No! I totally lost interest and I don't want to use software with two serious bug issues, amidst others.
Do NOT buy. Do not even try the trial. There are alternatives out there.

Hi Bill,
We're truly sorry about your unpleasant experience with our product.
I guess the goal you come here is to solve your problem, not just to express your dissatisfaction or anger.
Since you've done, it's time to fix your problem.
Please feel free to provide your purchase information and Email (you use to contact with our service team).
We'll arrange your full refund as soon as possible. We receive tons of Emails each day. Hope you can understand this.
And we appreciate your feedback as it helps us amend our service to our dear customers.
Best Regards
I agree with Alastair and Gillardstunts. The software does not work as advertised for all DVDs. Customer service just asks for screenshots and refuses to honour their 30 day guarantee refund. The asking for screenshots appears to be a stalling mechanism to wear you down.
Do not buy this software. There are better options out there that I have now purchased and work as advertised.
Update 12/4/19 - MacXDVD have now replied to this review. Please note that they have my details and still refuse to offer a full refund despite what they say in the reply.
Update 9/5/19 - MacXDVD has now offered a full refund and asked me to remove this review. I’ve already received a refund via my credit card provider and the review will stay.

Hello, Bruce, we're truly sorry about the unpleasant experience caused.
Our program maintains a high frequency of updates to crack the newest encryption method. Roughly 98% DVDs can be well supported.
Currently, a small part of DVDs may not be perfectly ripped. If it happens to you, we warmly welcome your feedback and will optimize our product timely.
The screenshots are helpful for our support team to faster find the real causes and solve your problem. And more detailed information is beneficial for later product upgrade so as to better meet your needs. We'll be grateful if you understand this.
Surely, we've been always keeping 30-day refund guarantee if our software doesn't normally work and we don't get the problem solved timely. Please send your name, order number and Email address to [email protected].
Best Regards

Hi, Bruce, I've communicated with our support team. We indeed received some Emails from the same name as you.
But we still need to confirm (maybe someone else has the same name as you).
Please offer your Email address here or contact our support team again with a screenshot of this review if you don't want to unveil your Email.
Sorry about the inconvenience caused.
Be very careful about buying from them, their customer service is awful
Be warned, this software may be what you want but you have any problems with it the support can be very bad, and if you get to the point where you want a refund you'll just get sent on a merry go round rather than being given your money back.
I bought this software because I wanted to backup some dvds that Handbrake was failing to copy. However this app failed to copy any of them effectively. One of the dvds I wanted to copy had flickering throughout the whole film that made it unwatchable. One of the other films I wanted to copy wouldn't even load, the programme just crashed every time.
I contacted support hoping to resolve the issue since I really wanted copies of these dvds. They got back to me fairly promptly and were nice. I sent them the information they asked for, screenshots, IFO files etc. They gave some suggestions which unfortunately didn't work, and after that I heard nothing.
When I followed up I was asked for the same information all over again. In the end I asked for a refund, at which point I was AGAIN asked to send screenshots and IFO files. I spoke to a few different people who were only interested in trying to get the dvds to copy. There's a point where if a customer has lost faith in your product you just have to give them their money back. It's the customers right to ask for a refund within the returns period of 30 days.
All in all very disappointed, firstly that the software wasn't able to do what I had hoped it would, but most importantly that the customer service was so poor. I can understand that it's difficult to create a programme that can copy everything and that sometimes it's not going to work. However there is no excuse for poor customer service.
My advice: DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

Hello Alastair, we are very sorry for your unhappy experience with our software. Our support team tried to provide various solutions to your problem, and that’s why you were asked to provide the problem details again. Anyway, to express our apology, we’ve refunded your money. In addition, thanks for you suggestions on the customer service, we will try our best to improve the quality of service.
Love their dvd ripper software. It is not easy to find a really useful one. I tried freeware like handbrake, but it always got stuck when loading the DVD contents. Luckily my friend sent macx’s dvd ripper to me and I’ve ripped all my son’s animation and cartoon DVDs. Now I don’t worry that he will break the DVD disks.
