It was made in china, they forgot multiple things in the order. And it was just a clay pot that was... SPRAY PAINTED. The inside as well. Not even a good job either. Absolutely disgusting lying company that should be boycotted
Umi tea is awesome. Not only do they have a wonderful selection of tea, but their teaware is extremely nice and reasonably priced compared to others. They have many of options from teapots to other accessories. I purchased a really nice glass/porcelain gaiwan from them which I use regularly. I also purchased a ginseng oolong from them which is really really good as well. Their customer service is great as well. Had one minor issue with receiving wrong thing in order and they refunded me immediately and handled it. I have nothing but good things to say about this company and I highly suggest them to anyone in the tea world looking for either tea or teaware!
I've just gotten my hands on this incredible handmade Frog Gaiwan, and let me tell you, it's an absolute gem! The craftsmanship on this piece is beyond impressive, especially with that charming frog adorning the lid. Every little detail is executed with such finesse; it's as if the frog might leap off the lid at any moment! Everyone who lays eyes on it can't help but ask where I managed to find such a treasure. Now, let's chat about the tea. I ordered the Dragon Well Lung Ching Green Tea from Umi and it is a revelation. The flavor is like a burst of freshness, dancing across my taste buds with every sip, and the color is just so vibrant, like a lush green meadow. The aroma is like a breath of tranquility in a hectic world. To top it all off, the shipping was lightning-fast, and they even packaged it in a lovely gift box! It's those little touches that really make the experience special. I'm officially a Umi convert—I'll definitely be turning to them for all my tea needs from here on out. Whether it's treating myself or surprising my loved ones with a thoughtful gift, Umi has proven to be the go-to destination. This whole experience has been nothing short of delightful, and I can't wait to place my next order!
Initially I expected nothing much, its hard to judge quality of items based on pictures and living far away I presumed delivery was going to take a while. But I was pleasantly suprised by the care in packaging, quality of items and speed of delivery. I would very much recommend this site to anyone.
I am the very pleased owner of the Umi teapot. Let me say that I use this beautiful and ascetically pleasing tea pot every day. It simply makes me happy to prepare and drink my teas from. The form and feel of the Umi teapot is quite delightful in its simplicity and style. It pours gently and it does not ’spew’ or drip. It does not make a mess. As it sits on my table right now I still enjoy the form, function and beauty of it even though I have owned it for over 6 months. I receive many complements one it from my guests. In, addition, it washes very easily and soap and water do not seem to stain the finish as it appears exactly as new and fresh as it did when I first received it. The Umi company is really quite wonderful in their communications with new buyers. I received my tea pot in a timely fashion. It was very well packed and not damaged in any way. The buying transaction was quite smooth, and easily accomplished. Personally, I prefer to support amazing artisans whenever I can. The purchase of the Umi teapot was an easy decision. It is not ‘cheaply made’, it does not ‘cut corners’ in the fabrication, design, shipping or customer service as many companies do. I truly appreciate that. My teapot is exceptional and it gives me serenity. That is what I have when I seek to relax and serve myself with an enjoyable quiet moment savouring my tea. Thank you.
This is my one of the favorite company and website Umi Tea Sets ! Very good product and quality, support teams are the best ! I love my tea way and more love it’s from Umi tea company . I didn’t test all tea but I’m working on it ! :) try to find my favorite but they all very interesting flavors. I drink tea using my favorite method, Pin Cha (品茶) or Gong Fu Cha. the process and immersion in meditation during the process gives me a tea state, all this satisfies and saturates my soul and mind , appreciate you for doing us happy !
I purchased the Mountain and Sea Blue Travel Tea set as a Christmas present for my friend. He is a big fan of tea, the outdoors, and the Japanese aesthetic. The set is even nicer looking in person than it is in the pictures! I am really amazed how gorgeous the tea pot is, it is a really high quality set. It is minimalist, and refined. It is a perfect blend of practical and artistic. The quality is great, the ceramic is thick and sturdy. The ceramic glaze has a really nice texture. I really like the strainer. In the past I have had issues with other sets that have a strainer basket where after a few uses the basket starts to break away from the seal. The Umi set uses a strainer made of one piece of metal so this is not an issue. The case is really good quality as well. I was suspicious of the travel worthiness of the set, but definitely think you could take these places. We have used the set several times and I am very satisfied with the purchase. I definitely would recommend buying, and am thinking about buying another one for myself.
We love to drink tea throughout the day and are trying to cut out as many impurities as we can - including minerals from electric heating elements and associated plastics. I ordered teapot on Umi tea sets because it's made of glass and can be placed directly on the stovetop. The center infuser sits down low enough where the teapot doesn't need to be filled to the brim in order to steep tea. In the pictures, I put more water than I should have because of the type of tea I was brewing. The water level will always be even with the spout, but then, as it's heated it will expand and potentially push out the spout end making a mess and maybe injuring the user with hot water. I have since made several pots of different flavors of tea - some poured over the center infuser, some just steeped inside and they have all turned out great.I have learned to keep a finger on top of the lid while pouring the last of the tea because it will topple over - the strength of the glass held up though and it remained intact. Highly recommended this company for their staff.
I ordered my teapot after seeing a YouTube video showing how these are hand crafted. It's quite an amazing process. It arrived in excellent packaging, which was good, our local delivery company is famous for breaking things! The teapot is gorgeous & makes great tea. I even fill it with my Keurig when I'm pressed for time. I showed it to my daughter and she loved it, she's a big tea drinker also. Now I know what one of her Christmas presents will be.
The tea caddy’s are delicately painted and absolutely stunning! Tea was so good my British husband has switched from his traditional tea to the ones I bought through Umi. Customer service was amazing. Fast and helpful when buying gifts for my husband. The packaging was great. I will be a customer for life!
The glass tea set I ordered was a Christmas present for a friend. It arrived in perfect condition, being very well packaged. It looked good in the website photos, but in hand it was truly beautiful, and had a wonderful feel. I have every intention of ordering another set, for my own collection. My friend was over the moon with her present, which I am sure will bring her pleasure in use, for many years to come. I will be a repeat customer for Umi Tea Sets, on many more occasions.

The tea set we purchased is beautiful and arrived very quickly. This was a gift and the recipient loved it! I would definitely buy from this website again.
Umi tea set is the best place if you are looking to get your tea set. Look no further. Got my 1st tea set with Umi after much research and no regret when it arrived. Delivery took a bit longer but still acceptable. Item are well packed and secure with many small gift to make the tea drinking experience much better. Packaging make it a premium gift choice and will return to buy more as gift.
Umi's delivery was great and timely. It was a gift for my wife, and it came quickly in time for me to wrap it and surprise her! The set itself is very beautiful and it works as promise. There was no damage or anything, which is what i was worried about during delivery since I know these sets can break. But they protected the tea set with foam and wrap. I bought the Koi tea set specifically. It is very accurate to the website pictures. I know I have ordered items on other websites where the pictures did not match what was delivered, but Umi’s pictures online are very accurate. The Koi tea set also functions very well! It is not only artistically beautiful, but it is also functional. The tea pot and set are easy to hold and drink, and easy to use and clean. My wife and I have used the tea set 3 times so far with no issue, no breakage, or any issues. Our friends love coming over for tea with the tea set, and it makes for a nice conversation piece, or it can be a nice decoration on the table as well. I am thinking I might buy other sets as wedding gifts for my friends!
I ordered few monts ago from the website and my experience was remarkable. As for the product I choose a tea pet (sheep) and the quality was outstanding. It is made out of Yixing clay and it’s craftmanship amezes me. Looks good on my tea table and I use it every day since I baught it. Legend has it has that pets absorbs the essence of the tea, evolving over time. As I pour hot water over my pet, it glistens as if awakeing from a deep slumber. All in all I got outstanding product for a fair price. As for the contatct and support I am also satisfied with them. Since I ordered from a far country the product take a quite bit long to ship but the support staff always contacted me about the update status of my shippment and they were very kind all the time if i ask about something. Also I got a gift in my packet which is very generous from them and I was very Pleased with it as well. The other product which I got was a beautiful tea knife. The knife with its sleek and sharp blade is more Than a mere utensil, its a ritualistic companion. Crafted with precision, it effrotlessly breaks apart compressed tea cakes. In addition its elegant handle made the tea cutting process both practical and poetic. As a happy costumer I recommend their service and products. So if You seek a tea set that marries functionality and with enchantment look no further.
My Brush came as a set of two. Craftsmanship is top notch and the bristles are extremely soft. I am very happy with my brushes. Thank you!
Delving into the realm of traditional tea ware, I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the exquisite Umi Purple Clay Tea Cup, a fine example of craftsmanship and functionality in the world of tea connoisseurship. The Umi Purple Clay Tea Cup immediately captivates with its rich, earthy tones and artisanal charm, showcasing the distinct beauty of purple clay, also known as Yixing clay. Moreover, the thick walls of purple clay in the Umi cup excel in heat retention, keeping your tea at the ideal temperature for an extended period. Purchased a Umi Tea Set as a gift for my son who travels a lot and loves the outdoors. Not only is the tea set compact in size, easy to travel with it is everything you need to be able to enjoy a cup of tea wherever you are. Each piece is gorgeous and they all fit together perfectly. I really like the clean designs, color and compatibility of the compact travel sets. It lets you bring a little piece of home out with you whether it’s just for the night or a longer getaway you will always be ready to enjoy your morning tea or a little bit of calmness to end your day. Definitely a great addition to any tea drinkers collection! So many choices and options there is a piece for everyone to enjoy. Great conversation starter and can definitely add on to your collection with the bigger sets. Making them as travel sets is perfect for on the go and also for being able to store easy. Great as a gift or to keep for yourself to enjoy. These are easy to clean durable sets. Lots of choices and combinations to choose from. My son has been using his travel set for about 5 months and hasn’t had any issues or problems with it. Would definitely recommend to others and consider further future purchases!
I was shopping around for a gift for my partner, who is a tea enthusiast, and I found this company. Everything was so well made I had a hard time deciding what to buy but I ended up getting the travel tea set. I was worried about the arrival time of the package given that it was for a time sensitive celebration, so I reached out to the customer service team and they responded quickly and helped me resolve my problem. The set arrived with plenty of time to spare, even during a busy shipping season, and I was stunned by the quality of the set. It looks really pretty and high quality, it pours well, and the travel case ensures that it remains protected. My partner was overjoyed by the gift and still shows it off to company whenever the chance presents itself. We can’t wait to take it on a hike or camping and enjoy some tea together under the stars. Absolutely worth buying from this company. I look forward to buying more products from this company as they make excellent gifts for loved ones who are interested in tea. The only downside is that it can be a bit splashy when poured, but other than that it is a great little gift.
