Avoid DHGate – Buyers Are Not Protected

This was my first and definitely my last purchase on DHGate. I ordered a pair of shoes in US Size 14, but the shoes I received were clearly much smaller. To support my dispute, I submitted photos showing the received shoe next to my genuine US Size 13 shoe. Anyone can immediately see that the supposed US Size 14 is actually smaller than my US Size 13. Instead of objectively reviewing the evidence, DHGate simply dismissed my claim, requested additional proof after the dispute was opened, and decided to release the payment to the seller. This experience showed me that DHGate's dispute process does not protect buyers. It protects sellers, even when the evidence clearly indicates that the product received does not match the advertised description. After waiting weeks for delivery, receiving the wrong item, and then having my legitimate complaint rejected, I have completely lost confidence in this marketplace. There are many other online marketplaces that provide far better customer protection. I strongly recommend avoiding DHGate if you expect fair treatment when something goes wrong.

Avoid this website. There is no department to contact to get update or dispute a transaction.Each vendor acts on their own .no rule no customer service to contact . 2 months to deliver an item and you can't say anything. Be luck if they ship your goods beside over charging you . I have to block my credit card. Weird transactions were made after using the website!

So far so bad, I placed an order on June 24, 2026, so far more than half the items still haven't shipped out yet and still being prepared, 6/13 items will take approximately 30 days to arrive based on their estimated arrival time, most of the items have crazy shipping cost even though they are shipped from the U.S. total cost of shipping for 13 items is over $200. Update 7/13/2026: here is an update of my original review, several of the items arrived, and many are cheap, knock offs, and poor quality, so far I have received 7 items from my original 13, and only one is possibly usable, the rest are absolute junk. I will wait for all my items to arrive before deciding if I should open a report with my financial institution. Updated 8/9/2026: All items received, only one item is usable, the rest is complete trash, i tried to complain, and they said I would have to ship the items back myself which would cost as much as the items themselves, website is complete horse shit.

Ordered two chairs

Ordered two chairs, they came and one doesn't even fit together because the stitching is so awful, the other collapses when sat in. Tried to contact seller who just sent nonsensical replies, asked DH to mediate, they took weeks and refunded me less than 10% of the cost, no opportunity to appeal that decision, won't allow me to return the item for a refund, honestly just useless, will never use this company again!

DHgate money stealing

The day after I made my first purchase here, I started receiving various unknown charges on my card. The IBAN and BIC for these transactions matched the purchase on DhGate exactly. The charges continued until my card was completely empty, stealing about €200. Now I'm trying to return stolen money with bank and police.

Wrong item was sent but seller refused to accept the mistake despite there being clear evidence. Customer service asked for proof,proof was sent but they kept asking for the same thing over and again and the page to provide proof was in Chinese! Such a shame as the product was actually really good. DHgate make all the right noises about sorting out any disputes but actually do nothing even when contacted directly.

Bizarre incorrect communication but tops arrived perfectly

Ordered two football shirts in size M. Communication is bizarre with messages saying payment not received and my questions not answered properly. Thought it was going to end badly but two perfect football shirts arrived 13 days after I ordered.

Yellowapp chanel bag The box was ripped on one side and the pieces weren’t even glued properly, had to glue them and put black texter on the rip in order to make it decent enough for a gift. First thing I noticed was the multiple gray stains that I needed nail polish remover to get off and the strong smell of plastic. The flap of the bag is uneven and the clasp doesn’t close evenly either or smoothly. There’s a scruff on the writing, which no other reviewer seems to have gotten. I thought buying it with the box would protect it more, still I think that the box took most of the damage on transit but still got some defects on the bag unfortunately. Was really hyped for this purchase as most bags, like LV, are well produced on this app.

Never Received Merchandise: A Cautionary Tale of DHGate's Fraudulent Practices

I placed two separate orders with DHGate, and the entire experience was a nightmare. The first order arrived completely damaged. To make matters worse, the second seller used the tracking number from that first damaged order to fraudulently claim that my second order had also been delivered—when in reality, it was never even fulfilled. DHGate is a platform that actively protects its fraudulent sellers. Their dispute team consistently sides with the merchants, completely ignoring the overwhelming evidence provided by the buyer. They deliberately make the resolution process so tedious, time-consuming, and exhausting that most customers simply give up out of sheer frustration. However, out of principle, I refused to let it go. After a month of contacting their customer service every single day, I finally filed a chargeback with my credit card company and successfully got my money back. Save yourself the headache and avoid this fraudulent company at all costs. I will never shop here again.

Terrible customer service.

Terrible customer service. I ordered a football shirt that arrived completely defective, with a huge ugly seam right across the chest where a hole was poorly repaired. The seller refused to help. I escalated the case to DHGate, and they just closed the dispute, forcing a 50% partial refund on me. They protect bad sellers instead of cheated customers. A absolute joke. I will never order here again. Save your money!
