Reviewers had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently share that the ordered products feature stunning quality, beautiful details, and gorgeous materials that make special events truly memorable. People also widely appreciate the reliable delivery service, noting that packages arrive safely on time and the overall online ordering process remains completely straightforward.
However, some people mentioned that items occasionally arrived heavily wrinkled because they were tightly packed into very small boxes for shipping. A few other consumers also felt that certain garments suffered from unexpected quality flaws, unwanted material snags, or noticeable sizing inconsistencies upon final arrival.
Delighted overall!!!!! A few lessons learned though.
I’ve ordered a wedding dress and three bridal party dresses from this site as two separate orders in recent months. I also pre ordered the sample material. Mixed feelings hence the 4 star rather than 5. I would definitely use them again though.
Wedding dress - I selected the ‘As picture’ option which was a mistake. Order the material samples and choose a colour! My dress is lace with a tan/natural colour inner layer which I wasn’t expecting and overall my dress is too yellow. Picture quality is good in the website but lacks detail such as this so my fault for not being decisive about colour. The dress itself is really well made. Be careful with custom measurements. They allow extra space so you can breathe which meant my dress was too loose/baggy. Who needs to breathe on their wedding day anyway?! Would definitely recommend this site if you are going for a corset back. In fact, I would suggest that you go for a corset back to get the fit you want. My dress is with a seamstress who was impressed with the quality and can work with it to make it fit. I whined to customer services and got a part refund which covers the cost of the alterations and a slight modification. Choose wisely and be clear and I don’t think you’ll regret it.
Bridesmaid dresses are utterly divine. The older kids dresses are beautifully made and barely need a steam! The flower girl dress which had been ordered earlier, is a lighter material up top (should just differ in colour) but still beautiful. There was a glitch with the zip finishing but it isn’t visible now it’s been steamed. Honestly, very very impressed. You get more than you pay for, without a doubt!! Trailing through a zillion dresses in a shop isn’t my thing but I managed to trawl through a million online dresses over a few evenings. Recommended completely!!
Damaged goods. Hat shipped in box too small. No free return?
My wife ordered a wide brim ladies dress black hat from JJs House. The hat arrived but had been dispatched in a box which was too small. The hat was supposed to have a fold on one side, Due to packing it has folds and creases on multiple sides. Result the hat was far too damaged to wear. This was a careless mistake by their dispatch department. The shipping charge was £22 an absolute joke. Customer service tried to offer discount and for us to keep, twice making this offer when all we wanted was to return the hat for a refund - THE HAT IS DAMAGED!!! Be very careful of JJs House they do not pay for returns even if goods are damaged. We will have to pay for the return even though goods were damaged by their own packing department. Shocking service for an online shopping company. I would not recommend using this company. Avoid.
At the moment happy to update this review as JJs House have said on receipt of returned goods they will refund original shipping cost. This review may get better - watch this space.
UPDATE 16/05/19
Package returned and received by JJs House on the 2 May. They indicated refund would take 48 hours. Two weeks passed still no refund!
UPDATE 24/05/19
Finally received a refund for item purchased and original shipping cost. Out of pocket for return postage, returns are at a cost to the customer! As the goods were damaged, JJs House should consider offering a prepaid return postage service as good business practice. The whole refunds process is very slow.
Overall not best service but at least we did eventually get our original purchase cost back!
Hassle to Return
Do not order unless you are 110% sure of sizing, colour and cut.
I bought a bridesmaid dress for a friends wedding, and when it arrived, it was the wrong size. Even if I had got a size up, it would not have fit as the cut was definitely not intended for UK sized ladies in my opinion. When it came to returning, it was an absolute hassle to do as had to exchange numerous messages and photos for them to agree to the refund.
Once refunded, I realised I had actually lost a total of £35 due to delivery fees (which are not refunded). So the whole experience meant I was £35 our of pocket, and still without a dress for my friends wedding.
In hind site, I would never have bought a dress from this website, had I known the hassle and expense it all cost me.
Ordered my mother of the bride dress from here, was very worried after reading some reviews....but it arrived when I opened it I was so happy with it....lovely fit, colour just as in the picture can't wait to wear it now... Will use again when my youngest gets married next year.
JJ's House has a great selection of occasion wear for those special days! I will definitely recommend JJ's house for anyone who is looking for that special something ;-)
They do not accept returns watch your shipping costs
The big banner across their front page states worry free returns.
This is a lie - I have a big issue with this as it is false information they are feeding customers and should not be allowed.
Although prices look good check the shipping costs!
I ordered multiple items from this company, they mailed me to tell me that they do not accept returns as items were made to measure ( my order was basic plastic dress covers and different coloured wraps - no sizes just one size) I therefore cancelled some of the items, when I asked if this decreased my postage and packing as it was weight based I was told ' no it will not cost more?!?!'
I thought I would stick with the reduced order but then was mailed to tell me half my items were out of stock. It became very costly I was paying over 50 quid purely on shipping for a couple plastic dress bags (cost 2 pound on amazon) and a couple organza shawls.
I decided to cancel my order - this is where it becomes fun because they tell you they have already started to make your made to measure items and will only offer you 10% refund (within 24 hours of their email telling me items were out of stock)
Now it took a while and a few threats of trading standards but I got my refund else it would have been one star. It just reminds me every time why its a bad idea to buy from abroad. I dont know why I keep trying.
I pondered over using this company for some time and saw the good and bad reviews. I eventually came to the conclusion to order a less expensive dress (I waited until the black Friday/cyber Monday sales to ensure I got the dress I wanted but at a lower price). I also made a deal with myself that if it was awful then it was my fault and not to expect too much and that I would fork out a bit more to 'fix' it and not to bother to attempt their awful returns process. I also went for custom fit.
I was excited to receive a notification that my dress and been delivered but was horrified when I saw a box a little bigger than A4 size. I honestly thought that they had just sent my veil! However, the dress and veil was in there packed into zip lock bags. On taking the dress out of the bag I immediately knew it had been made too short, however, this has now come as small blessing as I can wear flats or a kitten heel instead (much more comfy hey girls!!). Also this may or may not be my fault as I gave the measurements as required from both my head and collar bone down to the floor (bare footed) which is exactly what I got. However, the website explains that they will add on 2 inches to the measurements provided to allow for heels...... which they haven't. So maybe do this yourself.
It was also too big across the bust but this can be fixed (again going back to my deal with myself). They have layered the tulle, but where the joins are, they have not cut off the excess fabric, again something I am hoping my seamstress can fix. Finally, it is a mermaid style so I was expecting the dress to be shaped tighter as it went down toward my knees. Nope...... they have just pinched the tulle in at either side (which is different heights on each side), but again this is fixable. Other than that the dress is lovely and I look forward to seeing the fixed version.
My advice is not to expect too much, and set yourself a budget knowing that you may need to spend further. But, all in all I got a nice dress for £120 plus additional cost to fix (which wont cost the earth)
Avoid at all costs. A bad experience from start to finish. Having done thorough research (as I do when I order anything from online), it seemed that people had had a positive experience with this company. However, I wish I had never decided to use JJhouse for my bridesmaid dresses. The dresses arrived and were not as shown online (colour inaccurate), and fit varied so widely that my sisters ended up having to pay more money to get their dresses altered. Considering the price of the dresses, the quality was very shoddy. With one dress completely unable to be used, we sent it back. Only to encounter an unacceptable amount of hassle in trying to get the amount refunded – and even now, for some reason, they have not refunded the entire amount. As an online company, it's shocking that their returns policy is such a hassle as it is, and that getting a refund for a legitimate reason is not a simple procedure. Organising a wedding is stressful enough without the additional stress of ordering dresses through this company!
I ordered 2 fabric samples, but they sent 1 wrong colour. Perhaps a simple mistake which should be easily addressed, but it's taken a few emails and a picture back and fourth to possibly sort. I received acknowledgement that they would just refund the money after their error, but now am getting another email asking for barcode (which isn't on product) and no sign of refund as yet. Maybe this will take another couple of days, but it's taken a week which is rather slow. Was hoping to have this sorted though so I can buy my 3 bridesmaid dresses from them, but they need to act a little faster with this to give enough time for dresses. Will update accordingly.
Nearly perfect - definitely will consider ordering again.
As with all of the other posts, I was a bit skeptical ordering my wedding dress online.
I ordered my dress in a standard size, but decided to change to a size up reading the reviews. The customer support team very quickly accepted my requested to change the size after I ordered which I appreciate.
The dress arrived (to Reading, UK) within about 14 days of ordering which is great. I think it was about 4 days from the day it actually shipped from China, arriving with DPD. I didn't come across any import tax issues.
The dress itself is great value, it is good quality, and feels nice on. Obviously a £3,000 would feel very different, but it still feels very nice, especially for the price I paid.
The only issue I have is the embroidery detail on my dress - there are lots (approx. 50) of 1-2cm strands sticking out all over the top of the dress. I contacted customer support (who respond very quickly and politely) who said someone normally cuts these off, but I can do it myself. If I didn't have to do this, then the dress /experience would have been perfect. The customer support have also offered 20% off my next shop, I'm just not sure if I'll use it.
Just a recommendation on sizing - I'm sure their tailoring service is great, however people had mixed reviews. Personally I've gone for a size up with their standard sizing, meaning I can just take it into a tailors in the UK just before the wedding (gives me space to lose or put on weight too).
I happily bought a pair of childrens shoes, carefully checkng out that it appeared to be an EU (uk) webside as well as checking reviews here on trust pilot. The pair of shoes wa s DKK183 and the shipment DKK126. I recieved the shoes fine allthough it was a suprice that the shoes were sent directly from China. As a consequence I was charged additional DKK218 in cost and import tax; the major part of this is DKK in agent handling cost of the tax. The tax was charged 2 weeks after the purchase with no previous notice and returns were thus not possible. On the jjshouse homepage you can find information that additional tax may apply. I complained about the tax and was offered a DKK40 voucher at next purchase. However, In conclusion - I ended up paying fees at higher cost than the value of the product. I had no idea whatsoever on the possible amount upon time of purchase. And as for the product - the quality could certainly be improved. I can really not recommend any internet purchase from this site.
update: After this review I got a message from jjshouse that they were very sorry about my unfortunate experience and offered me a discount on my next purchase. After some correspondance and a few telephone calls they offered a total refund of my unexpected costs provided that I remove my poor rating here on trust pilot. I have upgraded my rating as I truely believe that they care about customers and reputation and has offred means of compensations. However, this does not change the fact that when buying from Europe you will get an additonal cost imposed that you do not know the size of when buying. In my case it was +100%. I do not appreciate that a compensation is provided that you remove your honest review

I have only ordered swatches so far but I am satisfied with the range of colours fabrics and the swift service. I look forward to reviewing again once I've ordered my bridesmaids dresses.
