Was able to efile. After 60 days it still didnt say accepted and it was because yes/no. wasnt selected. but was still how able to file. but 1040.com never transmitted. had to reach customer service for them to cancel the transmission, but only i am now responsible for the delayed filing without an extension being done.

Irealize that the IRS sets rules for our protection, but sometimes they seem to get in the way. That said the software really helped get it theough. Thanks
I was under the distinct impression that I had already filed on April 2, 2026 when I didn't see any deposits in my checking account I thought to double check now and realized that somehow I hadn't filed I didn't see any deposits in my checking account... And I never received any prompts from 1040.com that my account was still pending transmission to IRS not a single email warning that I would be late or anything like that and now I am late

The biggest problem was that everytime…
The biggest problem was that everytime I tried to file my taxes it would not complete the process. I was never told why it would just keep starting me over. I emailed the help desk and at first they told me it was an issue with UTC time and my current time zone. But that was not the problem. Then they told me I had to file without using the pay digitally option. So now I have to send in a check separately to pay my taxes. I will not be using 1040 in the future.
Great relief to find 1040.com FreeFile after TurboTax appeared to require me to have Windows 11 (which my computer can't handle). Only downside was that 1040.com won't search and upload interest/capital gains/losses info, so I had to enter it myself.
Also, initially 1040.com wouldn't let me file even though I expected to pay the $34.99 fee after my AGI came in unexpectedly (to me) high. But this was March, a busy time. so I figured I'd pay the tax due, which I did, and come back now in May to actually file the return. That worked, 1040.com let me pay the fee (which is much less than TurboTax fee) and file by e-file. So I'm a satisfied customer.
