Death Certificate Issue
UPDATE: I appreciate Brynn taking the time to figure out the issue, get it fixed promptly, and communicate with me thoroughly. --------------------------------------- It's been a month and a half and I still don't have my spouse's death certificates. No one from After.com will return my calls, texts, etc. to give me an update. The financial stress caused by not having these documents is making the whole ordeal even worse.
Mamas Final Wishes
After the unexpected demise of my beloved mother I had to make the decision for her arrangements. With deep research, referrals and reviews After.com seemed to be my best choice. Affordable with nice selections. Since this was a first for me and having to deal with extended family regarding the matter it wasn't an easy process. But my After.com Care Specialist, Iva Workman was very caring, sensitive, attentive and respectful to my needs and the wishes of my mother. She kept me updated on the process and any changes that I needed to make she made sure everything was done in accordance to my need terms of agreement. Iva went beyond measure to facilitate the hardship of personal connections to make my mothers transition for her cremation as smooth as possible. She was a blessed angel of Gods mercy and grace to have had an extra duty of being the liaison between distant families. SN: There was a concern that I addressed with Iva during the process and trust that she will make sure that it will be addressed with upper personal. Overall if and I pray that I won't have to go through a process like this again it will be with a sadness but peaceful trust having After.com assist me.

I recently called on Friday to receive information on prices and for some information the lady who answered was extremely unprofessional and had lots of attitude. I understand people have bad days but if you’re working at a place where loved ones are preparing for death a sensitive time for many you should have some compassion and some basic respect for others.
A mixed experience
The came and picked up his body with respect and dignity. The communication was spotty. The emails with tips came a month post-death. That was ridiculous. I needed those things in the first week. I had to struggle through by myself. It took 10 days to get a doctor’s signature on the death certificate. The death certificate is wrong in one box because you made an assumption.

Phillip made this a great experience. We tried putting it off for years until we found someone we could trust. He was professional, kind and understanding. I have no words to describe how he made it easy for me throughout the whole process. Now I know our daughters won't have to go through a hard time trying to find a cremation plan for us.

Significant delays and poor communication
The initial set-up with After.com was easy, as was the process of having the number called after the death. However, my experience with the Care Specialist from that point forward made this experience unpleasant. After.com aims to provide an effortless experience, and it was not effortless. I had to call multiple times to follow-up on promised paperwork, many of my emails went un-answered, and call backs took multiple days. While my questions were unattended to, the Care Specialist regularly hassled me on his own timeline, going as far as to email me about my "delayed" payment 28 minutes after I received the first invoice. The USPS tracking number was "lost" for 2 days and the ashes were so delayed being picked up that the company had to have them couriered to a local mortuary for me to pick up so we would have the ashes the day of the funeral. The reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is that ultimately the company did get the ashes to me, but the experience was wholly unpleasant and stressful, despite an easy set-up experience to start.
