To me Barbri covered a lot of gaps. They taught me from scratch to the top, teaching in the most efficient way. No long stories, consolidating the knowledge. I didn't use Barbri in my 1st attempt. This time around I chose barbri. Hurray! I passed both flk 1 and 2. No rush! Can't shout. Kudos to Barbri...keep up the good work.

Barbri was very helpful in the preparation of my SQE1. I took every step of the processes that were embedded in the package I bought very seriously and I ensured to cover all weekly timelines. The online lectures, texts and bank of questions were all very helpful. I am very excited to have passed both FLKs.
I would definitely recommend Barbri to anyone who is looking to sit for the exams.

Repetition of Example is good for memorisation but concepts should repeat not the same example or examples text. As it seems that the example questions will besame but they far different and only the concept is being tested in exams

The sheer volume of practice MCQs was exactly what was needed to pass SQE1 at first attempt. You can book in with a learning coach whenever you need to (I recommend doing this once a week) it makes a huge difference to motivation levels! The textbooks were concise and easy to follow. Some of the lectures could do with being updated (tax). You repeat the content multiple times if you follow the personal study plan which is great for getting the tricky bits to stick in your brain! A simple, easy to use platform which will give you all the knowledge you need to pass SQE1 if you stick to the plan Barbri provides.

The on-demand course online is extremely helpful, accessible and easy to understand (of course with some materials being intrinsically harder to learn than others). The spaced repetition learning is also helpful to retain information and it would be useful if it were implemented even more. I did not feel overwhelmed while learning the materials for the first time. The only time I felt overwhelmed was when testing MCQs of other providers and felt like the other MCQs prepared me better because of their (i) technicality; (ii) difficulty; and (iii) style, which were closer to the actual SQE1 exam.

Most probably the approach taken by the course (doing good enough rather than ensuring perfection) is the optimal one, but I would feel more confident should I not be surprised by some of the questions during the actual test (like Welsh tax issues) to which the prep course didn’t prepare me at all.

Great flexibility and gets results
I had a great experience with Barbri. I passed SQE1 in the first quintile with their help. The system is designed so that you only do as much work as is necessary while ensuring that you retain what you have learnt through the approach of spaced repetition. It’s clear that they have spent a lot of time perfecting their model. I truly only followed their advice and the Personal Study Plan and did not do practice questions from other providers, as some students. Additionally, they really pay attention to pastoral care. The SQE1 is a really difficult exam and so having the composure and right mindset is a big part of the battle. Barbri paid special attention to this and integrated tips into the PSP through their SQE Sorted videos.

Passed sqe 1 first time with 76% average - just completed the PSP so they must be doing something right. Sometimes the videos annoyingly dated though

Great, supportive provider with excellent tutors
I had a brilliant experience with Barbri during my time doing the SQE. The process they have is engaging with multiple opportunities to get feedback meaning that when you enter the exam process, you go in feeling prepared. Fees not transparent, company not flexible, last time I will spend money with Barbri.
Barbri offered a 15% discount on their SQE 1 prep course over this past Black Friday, which I took advantage of. I received emails after my purchase confirming the £200 deposit I paid but not the total amount that would be due in January when the course started. Come to find out that the 'SQE Essentials' bundle was added to my SQE 1 prep somewhere in the purchase process, which is a further £400 before discount that I did not wish to sign up for, but apparently did in error. The additional cost for this was not confirmed to me in email until 4 January.
On 5 January I raised the issue that I did not intend to order Essentials and that I had only become aware I had done so when I received an email showing the higher than expected total cost. Barbri declined to cancel the Essentials course, citing a 14-day cooling off period and 'student fairness' as their reason. Barbri is not a school and is not accreditated by any body, and I am not a student, but a paying customer of their self-study prep service. I don't yet have an experience of the quality of their offering, but I am left with the choice of either forefeitting £200 or paying for a course I did not want and have taken elsewhere. After a call and two email exchanges, Barbri has held firm.
Be careful of what you buy from this company and be sure to understand the total amount you're paying as Barbri may not communicate it to you until it's too late to 'cool off' (or in my case, simply be aware before any use of the materials that I was about to pay for something I didn't intend to order). I will never use this company again and I would share this story to anyone else who would reasonably expect that a company standing to gain thousands more from me if my experience is positive would be flexible when I state my concerns before the 'course' starts, and not after.
