I think Barbri offered detailed and organized study plan. This is the most important part because I was overwhelmed by all of the topics. Since Barbri offered me a good, organized study plan I managed to pass the SQE. Thank you

A great preparation tailored to your needs, would recommend!

Very flexible time schedule which you can create and even adjust yourself during the course, optimal resources focusing on what you really need without going into unnecessary depth if not needed, and great service where you can ask a legal professional substantive questions.

I used BARBRI and passed SQE first attempt

I used BARBRI for both SQE1 and SQE2 and passed each on my first attempt. The course materials are very detailed, well-structured, and easy to digest. The platform used for sqe1 kept me on track, and the practice questions and mock exams were especially helpful. Sqe2 platform was slightly confusing and complex to navigate.

Reply from BARBRI2025-12-04

Congratulations, Jo, on passing both SQE1 and SQE2 on your first attempt! Thank you for the feedback, we always appreciate it. We very recently updated the SQE2 platform for 2026 (based on such feedback) so we hope to help even more students study efficiently. Wishing you all the best with your career!

Very well structured course

Very well structured course, designed to turn passive knowledge of law into ability to apply and skill to apply as required by exam. Personal approach, friendly and efficient. Lot's of possibility to get feedback and ask questions.

Dear Maria, thank you for the great feedback on our SQE2 Prep course! Helping to embed the practical skills alongside friendly, personal support is exactly what we set out to do - and it's great to hear it hit the mark. All the best with your career!

Ease of use was exceptional

Ease of use was exceptional, the only thing that could be better was the difficulty level of mocks

Reply from BARBRI2025-12-04

Dear Sanvi, thank you for the feedback, will send to the learning team. But also glad you found the SQE1 course exceptional overall! Best wishes for your career.

SQE1

I like the structure and the layout of the course. The study guides are very good at digesting complex law into bite size pieces. I felt the multiple choice questions weren't representative of the actual questions in the SQE1 exam.

Reply from BARBRI2025-12-04

Hi Lee, thank you for feedback on the questions - we're constantly updating them so every comment is useful. And happy to hear you enjoyed the overall course structure and the study guide! Wishing you all the best.

The course was detailed and simplified…

The course was detailed and simplified but most of all the support was second to none. The questions although not all were reflective of much of the exam. I only dropped one star as I think that in terms of pricing for the additional practice mocks Barbri ought to be much less expensive than it currently, is at least for its subscribers.

Materials good but software and support poor

The materials themselves are quite good and I do believe they can get good results. However, the software and the support offered is appalling. I have tried to get the books downloaded and have almost lost the will to live. I have enlisted to the help of very computer savvy people and still can't download them. The support team are almost useless and clearly get irritated if you ask for help. The initially gave me the wrong telephone number and since then, when, on the only occasion I did get through as opposed to leaving a message, I was told curtly that this is because they only have a small team of five. I suspect that the emails are all sent to the US of answering. The service levels are poor. I had to call the US to actually get a correct phone number for the support team. When using the online tools you are completely dumped out of the software. I shall persevere with them but they are the most frustrating organisation who seem to have little regard for their customers. Have just read their reply and I can say that my issues have been sorted. The software is not perfect and does irritating things but it works. Have upgraded my score to 4

Reply from BARBRI2025-12-04

Dear Peter, thank you for the feedback. It seems on the system that you received help with your issue – and we hope you have since had a better experience with the platform! If any other issues come up, please do reach out as we'd love to help. Wishing you success with your studies!

Very disappointed with Barbri’s recent changes

I was shocked to find that all the SQE1 lecture videos and textbooks have been removed from the SQE2 course. I contacted the learning team, and they confirmed that this was an intentional change as part of their “update” to the SQE2 course. According to Barbri, they’ve replaced all SQE1 materials with a new SQE2 workbook that supposedly includes only the law needed for SQE2. They claim this will help students focus and save time. However, in reality, the new workbook is far too condensed and lacks the depth and clarity that the SQE1 lectures and FLK books provided. Their response also stated that the SQE1 lectures were purely focused on understanding basic legal principles, which misses the point entirely. Those lectures were invaluable in reinforcing the black letter law that forms the foundation of SQE2. Without a solid grasp of that law, you can’t properly apply it in the client-focused assessments, and Barbri’s own justification shows a misunderstanding of how critical that knowledge is. What makes this even worse is that Barbri’s own website explicitly states that the SQE2 course “includes access to the relevant SQE1 Prep course materials to refresh your FLK knowledge.” Yet, in practice, that access has been completely removed, directly contradicting what’s advertised. They’ve also said there are FLK revision videos in week 20 of the course, but these are nowhere near as comprehensive as the SQE1 lecture series. Most of these “bitesize” videos are only a few minutes long and fail to explain the law in any meaningful way from start to finish. I’ve spoken to many other students who feel exactly the same way. The SQE1 lectures were one of the few things that truly made Barbri’s course stand out. Removing them, along with the detailed FLK books, is a massive step backward and a very poor decision from Barbri. The overall course quality now feels stripped down, less intuitive, and far less supportive. Very disappointed and would strongly reconsider recommending Barbri to anyone preparing for the SQE2 under this new setup. REPLY TO YOUR RESPONSE: Thank you for your response, but I would like further clarification on an important issue that your reply did not address: What was the specific justification for removing the SQE1 lecture videos from the SQE2 course? A large number of SQE2 students did not complete SQE1 with BARBRI, or were exempt from SQE1 entirely, and therefore relied heavily on those lecture series to properly understand and revisit the black-letter law before applying it in the client-focused SQE2 assessments. The lectures were one of the few comprehensive resources that actually explained the law in depth, and their removal has created a significant gap in the course. Several fellow students have raised the same concerns. The “bitesize” FLK videos are not an adequate replacement. They are short, inconsistently scattered across the course, and do not cover the full syllabus in the way the SQE1 lecture series did. For many of us, the SQE1 lectures were not “unnecessary duplication” but essential support to ensure a solid grasp of the legal foundation that SQE2 still expects. If the goal was to streamline the course, then why not retain optional access to the SQE1 lecture videos for students who genuinely need them, particularly those who never received that foundational teaching from BARBRI? I would appreciate a clear explanation of the reasoning behind completely removing these lecture videos. This decision has had a real impact on student preparedness, and greater transparency would be very helpful.

UPDATE: Hi Junaid, we're always happy to chat you through your questions. Please reach out to the Scheduling Team and they would be happy to support you. ---- Dear Junaid, thank you for taking the time to give your feedback. We're very sorry you feel that the changes we have made have resulted in a reduced experience. BARBRI is committed to the continuous improvement of the outcomes for our students who come to BARBRI from a variety of different backgrounds and starting points – many of whom are not familiar with the SQE1 assessment having completed the LPC. Our approach is to continually reflect on our results, review the course content and listen to feedback from our students. Access to essential SQE1 content remains fully available, including the black-letter law materials needed to underpin SQE2 study. What has changed is how that content is delivered: rather than duplicating the entire SQE1 course, we now provide a streamlined, purpose-built SQE2 workbook, practice resources, and refreshed FLK review materials that focus on the areas actually assessed in SQE2. This approach reflects the SQE2 assessment’s focus on application of law in a client context, not rote recall, and has been carefully designed by our expert faculty to improve learning outcomes and reduce unnecessary workload. Regarding the website, we have updated our clause for improved readability. We always welcome feedback and encourage any student with concerns to contact our support team directly so we can assist in real time.

I passed the bar with flying colors…

I passed the bar with flying colors after completing the barbri course. However, I think the barbri course may have been harder than the bar, so I went into the bar with below average scores on barbri. However, I passed with an 312! Overall, I would recommend this service to a friend!

Reply from BARBRI2025-10-27

Congratulations on passing with an incredible score of 312! We're so pleased our course prepared you well, even if you found it difficult at times. We appreciate your recommendation of BARBRI!

The material is great and I would use the outline to go thru some of the detail in a strategic manner.

The material is great and I would recommend a better introduction and use of the outline. I failed my first bar and did not use the outline at all but figured out I should use the outline midway through my 2nd chance at the bar.

Overall

Overall, I feel the professors / lectures were knowledgeable and did their best to make sure Barbri students were fully prepared for the bar. However, a couple of the professors (contracts specifically) skipped around quite a bit and made it incredibly difficult to follow and keep up with the course material. Thank you.

Reply from BARBRI2025-09-16

We're happy to hear that you generally felt prepared. We appreciate your feedback regarding the contracts lectures and will pass that along. Thanks!

Content great but reviewers hit and miss

Material covered and the methodology were great. The human reviewers of the essay questions were hit and miss. Most were great, giving detailed comments on what I did well and where to be improved, but the reviewer for Contracts essays gave no comments, just said “try harder.” A waste of a submission.

Reply from BARBRI2025-09-16

We're glad you found the material and methodology great. We're sorry the feedback on your contracts essay wasn't helpful. We'll look into this to ensure more consistent reviews. Thanks for your feedback.

Good but Barbri can make it better!

I spent my summer studying day and night for the Bar Exam. As most people usually do, I used Barbri. I think Barbri is the industry standard and they are a good program IF you have the discipline to sit down and study for hours on end. I learned a lot from Barbri but there is a lot of things that I would change about the course. (1) The foundational videos are a COMPLETE waste of time. Please do not bother even watching them, you will thank me later. (2) The suggested hours per day are flawed. I started bar prep early so barbri told me to study 6.5 hours per day (I took off on Saturdays). Barbri does not count any of the multiple choice questions in there practice bank as hours. So in the beginning of bar prep, I would reach my hours - in fact I would exceed them. I would be studying for about 10-12 barbri hours. However, like every person studying for the bar knows you need to be doing A LOT of practice questions. Towards the end of the bar prep I would be doing 100 Barbri question bank questions and 100 Adapibar question per day. (None of which counted towards my "hours"). This gets annoying because while I knew that I was putting in the work, Barbri would tell me "you're behind." (3) Adaptibar is not integrated with Barbri. I didn't know until recently that Barbri owns adaptibar. It would make a lot of sense if they combined the two programs. Overall - I think Barbri is good. However, there is a lot they could do to make the program a must for all law students to use. To anyone reading this, good luck on the bar exam I am sure you are going to do great. Just put in the hours and make sure to get good sleep.

Reply from BARBRI2025-09-16

We appreciate your feedback and are glad the program was helpful, and are sorry you felt the Foundations Episodes weren't valuable. Our course was designed to give a valuable introduction to bar prep through Foundations Episodes, and to help students understand nuanced topics more deeply and retain the information with more accuracy by using animated storytelling. We acknowledge your comments regarding suggested hours, and AdaptiBar integration. Your experience is valuable, and we will consider your suggestions for future improvements to our course. We wish you the best!
