Good system, poor installation process

The rep came out and provided us with a bid for a new burglar alarm system. Since we had a previous system, she explained that it was possible to use the old window/door sensors, but the installers would have to determine that. If they couldn’t be used, there would be additional charges - we completely understood. An installation appt was made in a timely manner. The installers called prior to arrival with an ETA, and were on time (9a). We had been assured that this would be a 1-day installation process (from the initial bid process and from the installers that day). Turns out they could not use our old sensors and that there would be additional charges; fair enough - we were warned ahead of time. They did give us a break on the price of the wireless sensors (12 of them, so a significant savings). The installer assured us he would finish the job that day. At the end of the day (5:30p), our alarm system was NOT operational. There were some major equipment problems with the wireless setup. We were assured that the installer would come out the next day, completion would take about 2 hours, and it would be finished and operational. Again, second day they showed up on time, but it took ALL DAY. And I mean 9a to 5:30p again. I had to assist the installer with fishing some wires through a wall, and I had to assist him in removing the old controller box from our old system. He did not clean up afterwards; had to do that myself. Not a big deal, but not great customer service, either. Also, his knowledge of the user panel was lacking; he had to consult a guide to show us how to use it. All in all I felt like the installation process was classic “over-promise, under-deliver.” Good thing we didn’t have any other plans or appointments for those 2 full days or we could have waited an extended period of time for the install to be completed. Also, we were provided with a review “card” to be returned by mail. I checked the box asking for someone to call me and provided my number. No one ever called. Good alarm system, but not pleased with the installation process.

I am so happy with my new system at the office. Bay Alarm really took care of me... I waited until the last minute to request service at a new branch office i recently opened. 3 weeks out for install, which was my fault 100%. Michael, my sales contact, decided to make a call to his dispatch office. Turns out Bay Alarm keeps an emergency spot open for just this type of issue. I got my system installed in 4 days... I could not be more happy with the work and the service. Michael at Bay Alarm totally took care of me. The entire experience was so professional and the workmanship was beautiful. Be sure to get the application on your cell phone (The cleaning staff is so worried about making an entry-exit error). I can arm the office from anywhere i have cell phone service... too cool!! I sleep well knowing my office is secure.

I never signed up for anything or purchased anything from this company but they sent me an email asking me to review them. I sent them a message via their website explaining that and their response was to send me another email, thanking me for my interest and asking me to schedule a time to review my needs. I have no needs that require reviewing other than for this company to review their email spamming techniques and remove me from their email list.

Had a switch fall off a bedroom door a…

Had a switch fall off a bedroom door a a week after the battery was replaced and I think the same switch was reglued. I am unsure because I am out of the country . Alarm went off, I bypassed that switch. Was to upgrade both panels , after a day of trying, only one panel was upgraded. There is an issue with my wiring. The old panel was reinstalled and worked fine. The team were courteous and worked very hard. The camera install went well, having difficulty seeing them remotely from my international location. L

Rick from Bay Alarm was nothing but professional, friendly and also very knowledgeable. We had some issues with the scheduling portion of the system, plus some hardware failure that required him to come back multiple times. He stayed on it and came back several times until everything was working right and we were satisfied. I appreciate his perseverance and always positive attitude.
