I use it for my law studies, and it allows me to organize case law, legal doctrines, and sources of law for my bar exam preparation. I am very grateful for the well-designed framework established by the Erga Omnes Law Academy team, which has provided such a valuable structure for studying and organizing legal materials. 🙏🏼⚖️👍🏼

Excellent product!

Overpriced & Inferior

I had created several flashcards on this site before finding Anki. When I went to export, I was told I'd need to pay the $20/mo subscription to unlock that feature. Anki is a hundred times better, less buggy, and contains way more features. Brainscape is overpriced and attempts to engage in vendor lock in by forcing people to pay to leave their platform. Edit: Brainscape is claiming in their reply that exporting is not locked behind the subscription. If they changed it, then their current statement is technically accurate. Back when I used it (January or October, don't remember), it absolutely was locked behind a paywall, and I have the Emails with support to prove it. Go on any Brainscape public forum that's more than 6 months old and you will see people complaining about this very issue. Their refusal to acknowledge this either means the reply comes from a recently hired employee not familiar with the old site, or someone that is blatantly lying.

Two months into French and I highly recommend Brainscape

I use this app every day as my first lesson. I review words and use it to jumpstart the day's lesssons. I have created many of my own card sets and highly value this feature. I recommend this app to anyone who wants to learn another language as I am using it in conjunction with Babbel and Rocket and find it a valuable tool!

THE BEST among so many I’ve tried

I have tried so many flash card apps, and Brainscape is definitely the best and most effective! By rating how well you know a word, the program will present it again to you at the appropriate interval. It’s easy to make your own cards, and there are many already available as well. Highly recommend!

Excellent. No ads, can customize your own cards or use other decks. The algorithm ensures you see more the cards you know worse, but won't let you forget the ones you already memorized.

Brainscape = Timesaver

Brainscape has been a time saver it makes studying so much easier especially for people on the go. What’s one device you always have with you? Your cell phone, right? With this app it makes studying so much easier because information is at your fingertips all of the time!

Brainscape has been an absolute gem!!! I use the app on my phone everywhere I go. It has been so helpful: 1. My confidence is stronger, 2. It is convenient, and 3. Most of all, it is completely organized already for me. The app is easy to use and user-friendly, and you get what you paid for! I would highly recommend this "perk" for anyone who is always on the go, students who also work, and anyone who prefers knowledge at their fingertips.

I’ve gone through most known (and quite a few of the more obscure) flashcard apps, and Brainscape is hands down the number 1 flashcard app. Sure, there are probably apps out there with better algorithms (though Brainscape’s algorithm is great even if it’s proprietary and not open source) but they’re almost always terrible in that they’re either paywalled or that their UI isn’t so good. For the learners, teachers, students and researchers out there and even the general populace, just get Brainscape and forget about having 10 flashcard apps for different purposes. Their team actually cares.

Loving the traffic light style rating..

I strengthen my foundational knowledge with the free version. This app is fantastic, in my opinion. A very user-friendly interface and no intrusive advertisements. Sync instantly between the Android app and the web. The most useful feature is the ability to rate memory power after each card using a traffic-light-style colour code. Your performance vote is connected to the spaced repetition feature. I adore this feature. I wish developing nations had a discounted option. Team of developers, cheers!

Great material, easy to use and study anywhere.

Good way to study efficiently

Quick and easy. Tip: do not put too many cards in your decks but make more smaller decks in your classes. I did not do that at first and it is a lot of work to copy and delete in a new deck (tip for Brainscape: please make this easier, it will save a lot of time)

Great for language teachers!

As a language teacher, I use this app with my students and it is excellent. It allows me and them to prepare ad customize sets of flashcards with lexical items and grammar rules for them to practice between lessons. The spaced repetition system helps them revise the items they find hardest more often. It is great for a quick daily review. You can use pre-made decks or you can make your own and recycle them with all the students who need them. The whole process is super intuitive. At the moment I'm writing they offer the usual monthly or yearly subscription for the "pro" version, but also the very convenient semester or lifetime sunscriptions. It may seem a bit costly if you use it rarely, but if you use it extensively as I do it is absolutely worth the price.
