Bait and charge more approach. Trying to get an owner of a vehicle and no information that you will need an additional purchase until you make an initial purchase and then the cost is really high to actually get what you want.

Hi Jason,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We are sorry to hear that you weren't able to locate the information you are looking for.
Due to the Drivers Privacy Protection Act, we do not provide information on owners of vehicles. The DPPA requires all States to protect the privacy of personal information contained in an individual’s motor vehicle record, including limiting the use of a driver’s motor vehicle record to certain purposes.
Rest assured, the account was canceled and you will no longer be billed moving forward.
If we can provide any further assistance, please feel free to email us at [email protected].
You couldn't tell me anything abouT the car. Only the vehicle and what year it was ,that I already knew, I wanted to know if it had a salvage title or if it was good and you couldn't even answer that much. That's why I canceled ,my membership I had just started

Cancelling subscriptions on this app is more complicated than necessary just like all VIN websites especially those that claim to be "free". To cancel this, go into your account, scroll down to "Edit Account Information", then click "Cancel My Account". To prevent future charges on your card from other websites that have had your card information sold to them, lock the card used for the Bumper subscription for one month. After that, either unlock the card or get an entirely new one. This website asks for too much information when all I am requesting is a VIN check. If I am looking at a car, I want the information about the car. I don't want to give MY personal information when that has nothing to do with the car. In addition, the information on this website is either information that you can figure out just by looking at the car and therefore not worth a VIN check, or just straight up inaccurate. I have tested their information on different accounts at different levels of subscriptions. On one of my accounts, I decided to look up my personal vehicle. I bought it brand new over 20 years ago, I am still it's only owner, and I have 0 accident history on it. Bumper claimed it had 3 owners as did VinSeeker. What a joke. I also looked up a salvage vehicle that I know was salvaged because my friend salvaged it himself. Bumper listed it as a clean title. Overall, the website isn't bad, but since you get multiple VIN checks as part of the subscription, use it on your own vehicle and see what information comes out of it. Then decide whether or not you want to trust it.

Hi Tovi,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
I'm sorry to hear you ran into any inaccurate information in your reports.
Bumper is an easy-to-access collection of vehicle records. These records are collected through official government records, insurance records and industry sources such as manufactures and service shops.
As you just experienced, sometimes the information they collect is not always 100% correct. Sometimes records are incomplete as a result of being filtered through different systems or because of typographic errors when moving the records from paper to computerized format. Dealing with millions of records is not the easiest process and while we put every effort into making our data as accurate as possible, we are dependent upon the sources providing us correct information.
Please know that we continuously strive to update and expand our databases in order to provide you with the most current and accurate information we possibly can.
Additionally, we offer multiple hassle-free ways to cancel your account. You are able to cancel online, through email, or live chat.
