What people say

$329 subscription charge and no human response

On July 28, 2026, I was charged $329 for Domestika Plus. I was not aware that the subscription would renew for this amount. I contacted Domestika immediately after seeing the charge and requested a refund. At the time, the payment was still pending. I have not used any courses, Plus credits, or subscription benefits since the charge. I have contacted support multiple times, but after more than a week I have only received generic/automated responses and no proper review of my refund request. My transaction number is 4115386033. I am simply asking Domestika to have a human review my case and refund the $329 charge. I will update this review if Domestika contacts me and resolves the issue.

Hi! Our goal is to make every step of the Domestika Plus free-trial clear and easy to manage. How the purchase works: - You can choose between the reduced price or the regular price. With the reduced price, the banner itself explains that a 30-day free trial will start, showing the exact price that will be charged if the trial isn’t cancelled. - Once you move to the checkout page, the subscription details appear again, clearly visible above the course being purchased, to ensure transparency. If you choose not to have the subscription, which is possible at that moment, you can remove it, and the course price will be updated to the regular rate. - Notifications are sent to the email associated with your Domestika account during your trial period and you can cancel before the trial period ends from Profile › Subscriptions. About the charge you received, it seems like the trial wasn’t cancelled before the estimated period, so the annual membership was billed automatically. Please note that you can find more information in our Help Center: https://domestika.co/CS-PlusRefund Regards, Domestika Team.

Domestika, what’s next?

Domestika has been my safety zone and one of the most important platforms in my creative journey. It helped me build the skills that allowed me to break into the world of video production and motion design, and I’m genuinely grateful for everything I’ve learned here. My only suggestion is that, at a certain point, many of the courses start feeling too basic for intermediate or advanced professionals. In my case, I can’t afford to attend film school, so Domestika, YouTube, and hands-on work experience have been my education. I would love to see more intermediate and advanced courses focused on video production, 2D motion design, and especially 3D. I’ve also noticed that some important topics are still missing. To me, Domestika is the place to find high-quality creative courses, so I’m surprised there aren’t courses on subjects like Fusion in DaVinci Resolve, VFX in After Effects, VFX in Cinema 4D, or TouchDesigner. I’ve seen several courses covering similar topics—and even some very niche ones—but not these, which I believe would be incredibly valuable and very successful. Overall, Domestika has played a huge role in my career, and I’d love to see it continue growing alongside creators who are ready for the next level.

Domestika Stole Money from Me

Awful misleading business practices do NOT trust this company. They deliberately use misleading tactics to confuse you and then refuse to refund you. I was scammed out of almost £300 by this company and both Domestika and PayPal refused to refund me. Do not risk putting in your card details into this website they will steal your money and refuse to pay it back. Thankfully the UK government is bringing in legislation to prevent this from happening in the future. If you’re an artist thinking of offering a course through Domestika DONT DO IT. They have also refused to pay artists and been sued before. If you value your customers and students you would take your course off Domestika. Terrible customer service you can’t contact anyone, they have no phone number and won’t reply to your emails. They have limited comments on all their social media and delete comments on LinkedIn. A transparent and trusted company wouldn’t do that unless they have something to hide. Read the reviews here they definitely have something to hide. Do not trust them. Avoid avoid avoid. UPDATE: they have replied to this review claiming that their process is transparent and easy. It is not and they know what they are doing by designing it this way. When you click cancel on your free trial it comes up with another button that says “cancel” when you click that second button it returns you to the previous screen. You would assume that this means you have successfully cancelled, right? No. Their UI is designed to mislead you into first starting a free trial and then secondly mislead you into thinking you have cancelled it. The email “reminders” do not contain any obvious information in the subject line that you will be charged. It says “your free trial is ending soon!” And only in small tiny writing does it say below this that you will be charged. Not to mention that the charge was actually more than what was written in the tiny text in these emails. So if you believe you have cancelled your free trial, and the emails say “your free trial is ending soon!” In subject line - you would reasonably believe that you have successfully cancelled it. Once the charge happened I immediately contacted them and explained what happened and asked for a refund. They refused and then just didn’t reply to any email after that. Poor terrible customer service they don’t care about their customers or artists. They just want your money. Do not believe Domestika’s response to my review. There is a reason why their trust pilot score is so low. Domestika - if your process is so transparent and fair, why didn’t you reply to my emails? Why have you turned off comments on all your social media? Why did you delete my comments on LinkedIn? Is it because your business practices are not actually transparent and fair?

I purchased a $0.69 course and…

I purchased a $0.69 course and unwillingly was charged with 329$ yearly subscription even though I’ve cancelled free trial in time and lost access to the platform as was described in their T&Cs. According to EU law I’m guaranteed a 30 day refund period from the payment date for the service I didn’t use. I’ve reached out to the company, but I’m only getting standard templates emails, that are not related to my specific problem. Domestika is a fraud company that scums their clients and should be prosecuted by the law! I’m going to file complaint to the cyber police

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CREDIT…

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CREDIT CARD. BEWARE THE UI/UX DARK PATTERNS: THE $329 AUTO-RENEWAL TRAP! Domestika is actively using deceptive UI/UX DARK PATTERNS to TRICK AND MANIPULATE users into paying for an expensive annual "Plus" subscription they never intended to buy! Here is exactly how their system traps you: THE BAIT: They lure you in with a cheap course or a "30-Day Free Trial." THE TRAP: They bury the massive automatic annual renewal fee in the fine print. THE SILENT CHARGE: Their required 7-day cancellation reminder email is intentionally designed to trigger spam filters and route straight to your SPAM FOLDER. You get absolutely zero warning before they drain your bank account. THE AUTOMATED BRICK WALL: Once they process the charge, human support vanishes. You are hit with automated bots reciting their predatory "strict no-refund policy"—even if you cancel immediately and have ZERO USAGE on the account. They are relying on you missing their hidden terms and filtered emails to force you into a subscription. Save your money and use learning platforms that do not rely on trapping their customers!
