Broken and dishonest business model

Domestika relies on customers overlooking large recurring charges as their standard business practice. I bought a US$1.31 drawing course. That purchase also started a 30-day Domestika Plus trial that converted into a £269 annual subscription. The recurring charge was disclosed in fine print beneath promotional content. Domestika charged me £269 in August 2025 and another £269 in July 2026. I received no notice before the 2026 renewal and no email confirming either charge. I discovered the subscription only after noticing the second charge on my bank statement. I had never used Domestika Plus, cancelled immediately, and requested a refund. They refused even to refund the brand-new, completely unused renewal. A subscription model built around fine print, silence at renewal, and a blanket no-refund policy is deeply broken. I will update this review if Domestika refunds the charges.

Hi, We sent an email to the email address linked to your Domestika profile regarding the price changes for the Domestika Plus subscription, in accordance with our Terms of Use (https://www.domestika.org/en/terms). The subscription renewal price is also available at any time in your Domestika profile, where you can review it. Please note that the Plus subscription renews automatically unless it is canceled before the renewal date. The charge you are seeing is related to the renewal of the annual subscription you had previously activated. As stated in our Terms of Use, subscription charges are non-refundable. You can turn off the automatic renewal at any time by following these steps: https://domestika.co/CS-CancelPlusRenewal Once you do so, you will continue to enjoy all Plus benefits until the end of your current subscription period. Like so many others who have been scammed I have too

Like so many others who have been scammed by these pigs. I bought an online course for .99c and 30 days later was charged $329 USD. No refund from these pigs at Domestika nor from PayPal. How pathetic is it if your business model is trick people into subscribing to your second rate product.

Hi! Our goal is to make every step of the Domestika Plus free-trial clear and easy to manage. How the purchase works: - You can choose between the reduced price or the regular price. With the reduced price, the banner itself explains that a 30-day free trial will start, showing the exact price that will be charged if the trial isn’t cancelled. - Once you move to the checkout page, the subscription details appear again, clearly visible above the course being purchased, to ensure transparency. If you choose not to have the subscription, which is possible at that moment, you can remove it, and the course price will be updated to the regular rate. - Notifications are sent to the email associated with your Domestika account during your trial period and you can cancel before the trial period ends from Profile › Subscriptions. About the charge you received, it seems like the trial wasn’t cancelled before the estimated period, so the annual membership was billed automatically. Please note that you can find more information in our Help Center: https://domestika.co/CS-PlusRefund Regards, Domestika Team.

The course material is great quality

The course material is great quality, with excellent instructors. Various languages sometimes makes it difficult to follow with subtitles. Was not happy with the plus subscription, far to expensive for what it is worth. I tried to cancel right the next day before I was charged but was not able to reach anyone directly and no email response. Better customer service is recommended.

It is was not a training rather than…

It is was not a training rather than anorganized informations I consider also I could have from you tube. Furthermore, in one video has many issues. The videos were generally poorly made without an important content, I think I wasted my time. Drosi Georgiou

Domestika's Food Styling Courses: All Props, No Substance haven't found a single food styling…

I haven't found a single food styling course on Domestika that's truly worth taking. It's embarrassing. Half of the course is nothing but endless talk about the so-called expert's influences, inspirations, and creative references. What disappoints me most is that their entire creative process seems to rely on other people's work. They photograph a dish from a restaurant that they didn't even cook, then build their entire art direction around the props they bought. It's unbelievable that a food styling course teaches you that the secret is simply to buy a blue plate, spoon some mashed potatoes onto it, add a few leaves, edible flowers, peppercorns, and a few drops of olive oil. And that's supposed to be food styling? I find it incredibly superficial. Many of these instructors don't even know how to cook, yet they present themselves as experts. The worst part is that you have to pay for the course before you know what's actually in it. You buy it, realize it's disappointing, and by then you're stuck with it.

Scam

Scam. They charged $389 even though i cancelled my subscription. I have indisputable evidence available on their website saying that I had cancelled and yet they still charged me. I've emailed them three times and have recieved mindless emails neither confirming nor denying they were in the wrong. I've decided to save my sanity and cancel my credit card. Do not trust these guys, be sure to speak with your bank to get the refund settled rather than trying to speak to their customer support.

Overall very helpful

Overall, I’m very satisfied with the course and happy with my experience on Domestika. The platform is easy to use, and I’ve always had a positive experience with their services. As for the Porcelain Flowers course, I found it valuable and I’m grateful for everything I learned. By the end of it, I felt confident enough to create the porcelain flowers I wanted to make, which was my main goal. For me personally, though, the course felt a bit longer than necessary. There were many sections where I had to watch the instructor complete the entire process, and at times it felt quite slow. As an artist, I also would have appreciated a bit more encouragement to experiment and develop my own approach, rather than following the exact method step by step. That said, I still think it’s a well-structured course, especially for beginners. Overall, I’m happy I took it, and it gave me the skills and confidence to start creating my own porcelain flowers.
