This really was a super quick and clear…
This really was a super quick and clear process. Sam did all the messaging and arranging the visit via email. After me sending a few photos I was sent an estimate and booked for installation the following week.
The electrician who installed it was friendly and courteous, carrying out the work in a couple of hours or so, leaving the whole place clean, neat, and tidy.
An excellent, no worry, process.
I would highly recommend using Elecology to install your charger.

We had had a survey from a different…
We had had a survey from a different supplier, who basically said the installation couldn’t be done.
This company was breath of fresh air, keeping us informed all along the way, working to fit in between our holidays and then being able to do the exact installation we requested.
All very neatly done on a difficult to deal with 300 year old property.

Elecology poor post-installation service
Elecology were hired as the installers by Hypervolt for my new EV charger. They did the install - and the person doing it was very nice - and all seemed well. However, after the install, I noticed that the electrics/power was no longer working in my outbuilding.
I contacted Elecology (Sam) to inform them of the situation. Their response was that my previous setup was not correct/as it best it should be and that was poor worksmanship by whoever did that originally. Whilst I agreed with them on that, my point was that the power was working previously and stopped working after their installation.
They disagreed and what I can only feel was they thought I was lying. Their conclusion was that the existing setup was the issue and they had done no wrong.
Since then, I got an electrician in and he spotted a previous cable had come loose. This was in the area where the new EV cables had been plugged into. So, the end result was that the Elecology installation had disturbed previous cables resulting in loss of power.
It was thoroughly disappointing to see this kind of post-installation service especially considering the good reviews and rating the company has and how nice the installer was. So, I'd be wary about using Elecology because if there is some issue after the installation, it might not be so easy to get them to have a look at it. They might try to palm it off so they don't have to send someone to come have a look. They won't even consider it's something they might have done wrong (unless it is to do with the EV charger itself).

Let's be clear. We were not contracted to rectify pre-existing defects within your property's electrical installation. Elecology was contracted to install an EV charging point, which was completed to a high standard and in accordance with the relevant regulations.
During the installation, our electrician explained that the existing supply to the outbuilding was not installed correctly and should be addressed by a qualified electrician. This observation was recorded on your Electrical Installation Certificate and was reiterated by our office when you contacted us. We clearly explained the nature of the issue, and the pre-installation and post-installation photographs show that the existing arrangement was unchanged by our work.
The supply to the outbuilding is an existing installation that pre-dated our attendance and, as explained by our engineer on the day and reiterated since, does not comply with current electrical regulations because it lacks appropriate upstream protection.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept responsibility for defects that existed within the property's electrical installation before we arrived. As an Approved Contractor, we have a professional obligation to identify and record any existing safety issues we encounter, which is exactly what we did.
We also do not accept the suggestion that we failed to provide support following the installation.
This installation was arranged through a third-party provider, meaning post-installation support would ordinarily be managed through them rather than directly by Elecology. Despite this, we were keen to assist and investigated the matter as soon as it was brought to our attention.
The timeline is straightforward:
24 June: EV charger installed.
28 June, 12:21: We received the first notification that there was an issue with the outbuilding supply. No concerns had been raised with us during the four days following the installation.
29 June, 10:25: After reviewing the installation photographs and the engineer's notes, we responded with our findings and explained why we believed the issue related to the existing electrical installation.
Throughout our correspondence, we reviewed the installation records, consulted with the installing engineer, explained our technical findings, advised you of the existing safety issue identified during the installation, and outlined the appropriate next steps.
While we appreciate that the timing of the fault is frustrating, the evidence does not support the conclusion that the EV charger installation caused it. Our position is based on the scope of the work carried out, the installation records, the engineer's findings on site, and the photographic evidence before and after the installation.
To further demonstrate our commitment to quality and our confidence in the standard of our workmanship, we had begun arranging for an independent third-party electrician to inspect our installation.

Great Job
Great Job , easy to book and obtain the original quote and were very helpful on advising the correct charging unit to be purchased. The installing was great, the install engineer arrived on time and she was so helpful with advise and teaching us how to use the charger. I would really recommend this company every part of the process was GREAT, a very happy customer and now been using the charger for a couple of weeks and have had no issues.
