Great Service for Tax Extension
I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed. I waited to the last minute to file my extension, and the IRS websites were down! Expatfile was the best tax experience I think I have ever had. Easy, seamless, and user-friendly. I am now considering filing all my taxes with them.

Excellent service last year with Streamlined Foreign Offshore Procedures to catch up on previous filing history. And this year, Expatfile helped me in extending my filing deadline while I await my German Steuererklaerung.
Scepticism eliminated
Well I have always been a bit sceptical about online filing particularly as I live abroad and always found something that gummed up the process but with Expatfile I managed to get passed those hiccups this time and while not necessarily quicker it was definitely more efficient. And in the long run much more efficient.

Slick interface with clear explainers when needed, simplifying the US's ludicrous and Soviet-style tax code. I used the chat service twice and both times got an immediate and helpful reply that enabled me to progress — even on a weekend and after hours. To help the platform become even better, I'd suggest... (1) Provide a clear template or even spreadsheet for assembling the required data beforehand; (2) Improve the address entry format (bc there are not enough boxes and an unhelpful address predictor); and, (3) More options to copy details between entries (e.g. bank and home addresses, since these are often shared between sposes).

The system is very simple
The system is very simple. By entering simple and understandable data, you automatically fill out many extremely complex forms. However, I don't know if this simplicity hides something that disadvantages taxpayers. For example, when I enter depreciation deductions for a property from which I earn rental income, the total tax I pay increases. I haven't been able to understand or figure out how this happens. I haven't received any answers to the questions I've asked about this.

I used them last year and then again this year. The process is extremely easy and contrary to my old accountant so many fewer forms to complete.
