Fairly easy to file
Fairly easy to file. But there are a few hickups on the way. First, the handling of foreign addresses sucks (I had to manually enter them when the software was unable to find the address typed). And it was difficult to maintain overview during entry; I would have liked to see the actual return as I proceeded through the entry. Instead I had to wait seeing it till after full payment - and then go back an adjust as needed

The process can seem so complicated and overwhelming, but Expatfile simplifies it so much that you feel confident in filing yourself rather than paying for an expat accountant to help! Will use this every year while we are living abroad!

Intuitive, friendly chat support, manual overrides if necessary
The interface is simple and intuitive. However, if ever you face any trouble, their chat support is extremely responsive and helpful. They are always there to happily answer any questions. And if you require extra calculations or amendments not supported by the software, they can have a human do it manually to override the automated software, though they will ask you to upgrade your plan.
