FDR was a great help in getting out of debt. However, they could be more transparent about their procedures and processes when negotiating a debt.
One of my debts went into a lawsuit that I had to settle myself. Rather than guiding me through the lawsuit, FDR wanted to keep "negotiating" the debt which they obviously failed to do.
The money you give monthly is used to pay the debts, but since FDR charges a lot of their services, sometimes that monthly payment is not enough to graduate in the time projected at the beginning of the journey.
Your credit, of course, gets ruined, but by the time you finish with the program (depending on how many accounts you have) it is back to a decent number.
They helped a lot but are not so honest about their processes and fees
