This company came highly recommended to me by a number of specialty recreational outfitters that provide experiences in remote destinations that I chose to roam. If anything were to ever happen to me, I know that Global Rescue would have my back based on friends past experiences. I feel fortunate to have never had to use the insurance that I have purchased for consecutive years, but know that if I do call, I will be taken care of based on the situation my life is in.

I have used Global Rescue since working with the US Ski Team back in the early 2000's and their response and support was always top notch. As such, I have continued to use them personally for all my travels and recommend to family and friends as you never know when you are going to need help! Thank you for doing what you do.

Peace of mind

Fortunately, I haven't had to call on Global Rescue for a rescue. I do have the peace of mind to know I would receive their help and an emergency rescue if needed when I'm in far off-the-beaten-path places.

Easy to sign up. Cost for the benefits is reasonable. Like insurance, you don't need it until you do. If you don't have it then, you're on your own. You'll be wishing you'd sprung for it. GR staff know their stuff, are easy to work with and to get info from.

very responsive and thorough. i had a significant fall while in Austria (i'm typing with 1 hand) and while i knew i was responsible for the cost of the medical care, Global Rescue was joined at the hip with us for everything else. it's frightening to be in a foreign hospital where English is not regularly spoken, and GR helped make it more manageable. they helped arrange wheelchair services with the airlines, etc.

I attempted to purchase a yearly membership. I completed the credit card details but was advised my bank had declined the transaction. I immediately checked to find the transaction was not declined but rather it was processed. Twice. No policy was issued. I would exercise caution. Checkout other review sites. I can’t comment on the service of Global Rescue but if this is how they manage their billing system I have concerns. I received a call from Global Rescue where they confirmed both debits were a “glitch”. Apparently it will take between 10-14 days to receive my money. It doesn’t give one confidence they could get you out of a tight international situation if it takes 2 weeks to return two credit card debits. Interestingly too, my contact with them has not been through their corporate office in the US but via a call centre in the Philippines.

I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding service and support provided by Global Rescue. During my trek in Manang, I was admitted due to a medical condition, and despite being in a very remote area, their team responded with exceptional care and professionalism. What truly touched me was how proactive they were — they reached out to my sister, Thang Yin Mee, and coordinated with the local hospital to closely monitor my condition. They efficiently arranged a helicopter evacuation to bring me safely back to Kathmandu for proper medical treatment, which gave both me and my family great peace of mind during a stressful time. Even after the evacuation, their team continued to check on me daily. This level of genuine care, consistent follow-up, and personal attention made me feel incredibly supported, warm, and reassured throughout the entire experience. Global Rescue went far beyond my expectations. I highly recommend their services to anyone traveling, especially in remote areas. They truly provide not just assistance, but real care when you need it the most.

For starters, they probably saved my like by airlifting me to the hospital in Bangkok as quickly as they did. Next, long after their obligation ended by delivering me to Bangkok Hospital, they continued to check in on me and be so supportive. Just to know that they were there was incredibly reassuring. I could go on and on. Customer service, all the personnel, A++++++++++++++++

Broken Leg in Ireland, Global Rescue Came to my Rescue

I broke my leg in Ireland while on a vacation. I purchased a Global Rescue plan along with another travel insurance company before beginning my 3 month adventure. Despite the unfournate injury I suffered, Global Rescue made my worries go away. They helped take care of flights home, and provided the best customer service. Their response time was ALWAYS 1-5 minutes, with real english speaking customer service agents. I had a direct line through their WhatsApp number, which was excellent. I was in a very fragile state with a broken femur, but Global Rescue comforted me every step of the way checking in with me multiple times a day. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
