About this business

GoEast Kids is the children's program of GoEast Mandarin, a Shanghai-based Chinese language school teaching since 2012. We help kids and teens aged 3–17 learn Mandarin through online one-on-one lessons and immersive Chinese camps in Shanghai. Our teachers are trained to work with both heritage learners growing up in Chinese-speaking families and complete beginners, adapting every lesson to the child's level, personality and goals. Parents get regular progress updates and a dedicated consultant, not just a teacher. Curious? Book a free trial lesson and see how your child responds before committing to anything.

A Wonderful Mandarin Learning Experience for Our Daughter!

Our 8-year-old daughter, Phoebe, started Mandarin lessons with GoEast Kids in September, and after just eight lessons, we are already seeing such encouraging progress! What makes us happiest is her growing confidence and willingness to speak Mandarin at home, especially with her dad. She is becoming more comfortable using Chinese in everyday conversations, which is exactly what we had hoped for. She has also been practicing Pinyin and Chinese characters (Hanzi), and I love how she approaches writing Chinese characters almost like creating little pieces of art! 🎨 Her teacher, Karen, is absolutely lovely—warm, patient, and engaging. Phoebe genuinely enjoys her lessons, and as parents, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing our child develop a positive connection with both the language and the learning process. We are grateful to Karen and the GoEast Kids team for making Mandarin learning such an enjoyable experience. We look forward to watching Phoebe continue to grow! ❤️

Good school with really nice and professional teachers

My 9-year-old daughter has been learning Chinese with GoEast kids for the past 7 months, and I'm very happy with her progress. She started at level 2 and successfully completed it in June. Now she is working through level 3, and her teacher recently told me she's doing great, on track to finish by October. I really appreciate the regular feedback and stage reports that clearly show her progress. What I love most is that the teacher doesn't just "teach to the slides". They certainly have a strong curriculum, but she adapts to my daughter's pace and makes it fun by incorporating her love of football into the lessons. This makes the language relevant and fun for her. She actually looks forward to her classes. If you're looking for an online Chinese program that balance structure with personalization, I highly recommend GoEast!

An Unforgettable Summer at Chinese Camp

An Unforgettable Summer at Chinese Camp My 10-year-old and I went to Shanghai this past July for GoEast kids's Chinese summer camp, and it was amazing. Her Chinese got so much better! Her teacher really focused on using Chinese in real life situations and was super patient, always encouraging her to talk more. She also made a few great friends and totally loved the vibe at the school. When we picked her up after class, she was way more willing to speak Chinese with us, telling us funny stories about her friends or show us new words she learned. What really impressed me was how awesome the teachers were. Every single day they sent us a detailed update on how she was doing—what she learned, what she nailed, and what needed a bit more practice, along with what she ate for lunch and what she liked or didn't like. They even sent daily photos of her studying and doing activities. Seeing how happy and into it she looked in those pictures gave me total peace of mind. I’d highly recommend GoEast kids to any parents planning a trip to China who want to boost their kid's Chinese.

Three years with GoEast Kids — highly recommend|学了三年,真心推荐

My son has been studying with GoEast Kids since 2023 — almost 3 years now. He started when he was only 4.5 years old. We're a mixed family, so learning Chinese well means a lot to me and to my parents, and GoEast really helped us reach that goal. From the very beginning, he was genuinely interested in the language, and his teachers kept him motivated. We've had two teachers over the years and both were excellent — high energy, warm, and engaging. He started speaking so much more at home, both with me and with his grandparents. Later, the teachers introduced Hanzi gradually, and his reading has come a long way. What stands out just as much is the communication. I always get detailed feedback from the teacher and the wider team, so I know exactly how my son is doing and how I can get more involved at home. They send worksheets after each class and organize lovely cultural activities around the festivals. On Mother's Day and Father's Day, they even surprised us with a video of our son speaking in Mandarin about our family and telling us he loves us — that really melted our hearts. Over these three years, I've also noticed how much the team keeps improving. The curriculum has been updated, teacher turnover is much lower than other platforms I've tried, and this year they've been sharing a clearer learning roadmap along with regular teacher feedback. You can really tell this is a team that cares about kids overseas learning Mandarin — they keep good career teachers, keep the curriculum up to date, and keep raising the bar. I'd recommend GoEast Kids to any family who wants their child to learn Chinese well, at a good pace and in a warm, encouraging atmosphere.
