5 stars

I’m a financial advisor who delivers a high level of service and I expect the same from my service providers. Any time I’ve needed help, the support team has been quick to respond. The insurance has been accepted every medical provider I’ve been to, plus it’s a better deal.

Care and service that led to trust.

the absolute care and attention that Kylie and her team showed my family was what you would expect of a friend or family member. the customer service, response time, and follow up was quick, specific and i always had the understanding that she and the team would do what they said, and in a moment of confusion, that meant a lot of peace for us.

It's literally the absolute worst…

It's literally the absolute worst experience when you need a surgery or a serious procedure. There's a dozen companies they contract with that you end up needing to talk with and who claim to be helpful but will waste all your time. Everything about these health plans are engineered to not successfully make it easier to get serious care when you need it. If you don't think you'll need surgery or get cancer god forbid, they are probably fine, although the multiplan portal is the worst thing you'll use ever. Half the time login to their website doesn't work because they've got this complex setup where you need to be using their subdomain because there's just so much weird things wrong with how to set up the IT stack. These companies are obviously money grabs from people as they consult with dozens of other providers who they can absolve themselves of any responsibility of helping out for, so you end up talking to Vault Admin Services and then Fairos and then whoever. Truly frustrating to deal with companies that have weird Open Network or bs insurance that doesn't make sense for real needs.

Hi Drew, Although I can't address specific concerns publicly due to member privacy, I wanted to take the time to address some of your concerns. Serious procedures involve multiple parties by design: your provider/hospital, Vault Admin Services (claims), FairosRx (pharmacy), and Multiplan PHCS (network). Prior authorization and utilization reviews aren't unique to Solo, they're standard across most, if not all, major medical plans, including large employer coverage. Coordination across all parties is essential to getting large claims covered. Regarding the subdomains; we are actively working to fix this. I recommend bookmarking the partner site that you purchased your plan from for an easier sign in experience in the future - until this is more streamlined. The open network is designed so members can see any provider willing to bill Vault Admin Services directly, so you're not stuck with one narrow list. It is my understanding that a partner is working with you directly but if you need us, please reach out [email protected] - we will be sure to get back to you as soon as we can. We value your membership and want you to get the care you need.

Excellent customer service

The plan is accepted by a very large network of providers, AND is valid all over the country. The customer service team is easy to access and very helpful in answering all my questions and helping to navigate access to healthcare services and providers. They have helped reduce a lot of the anxiety surrounding accessing healthcare.

Much higher than having no insurance

It's basically catastrophic healthcare. The deductibles and copays are high and even "covered" services are 100% the patient's responsibility (on top of the high co-pays) until the deductible is met. Other insurance companies I've had would pay a portion of each bill before the deductible, so we were never paying more than an out-of-pocket cost, but my husband just had physical therapy with an in-network provider that ended up being $445 for per session, whereas out-of-pocket/no insurance would have been $135 per session. That's an extra $310 per session than if we had no insurance. How the insurance company even allows that as the negotiated rate is beyond me, but definitely wouldn't recommend this insurance.

Reply from Solo Health Collective2026-06-16

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear about the frustration and confusion surrounding your husband's physical therapy costs — we understand how stressful unexpected medical bills can be. We want to clarify that the costs described may reflect how deductible-based plans work, where in-network negotiated rates apply to services before the deductible is met — meaning the full contracted rate (not the provider's standard cash price) is billed to the member. It's also important to note that we do not control what a provider chooses to bill for their services. We recognize this can feel counterintuitive, and we take your feedback seriously. That said, we'd love the opportunity to review your specific situation and make sure everything was processed correctly. Please reach out to us directly at [email protected], and one of our team members will be in touch to walk through your claims and to assist you through this process.

Kylie makes medical help possible

The option for a personal help/concierge has changed my health and wellness life. Kylie is my rep and has been extremely responsive and helpful. Every small question and request she has always gotten back to me in at least 24 hours. She's provided me so many solutions in my short time with this insurance coverage. Don't know how I ever lived without this kind of service. I finally feel good about paying an insurance bill.

Excellent company and health plan

The company was so easy to work with, from signing up for a health plan to canceling due to my change in employment. They were responsive, transparent, and helpful every step of the way. While I only had a Solo plan for a short time, I thought it was an excellent value for good coverage. I would have been happy to keep this plan but became ineligible once I started a W2 job.

Truly thoughtful customer service

I've had a great experience with Solo Health since joining at the end of last year, but recently had an especially great experience with them. I was in a tricky situation where I needed an operation and wanted it to be performed by a specialist who I trusted, who only operates at hospitals that are OON with my solo plan. I was able to get fast, meaningful hands on support from various people at Solo and Fairos (shout-out to Allison and Katie!) which made the operation possible and I can't thank them enough for the time and care they gave me. Their customer service is unlike anything I've experienced at other insurance companies.

Reply from Solo Health Collective2026-04-30

Hi Sarah! Thank you for sharing this. We're so glad you were able to get your surgery with a provider you could trust - even if they were out-of-network. Situations like yours are exactly why we have a concierge support team. Being self-employed shouldn't mean having to choose between the specialist you trust and the coverage you're paying for. I'm so glad to hear that Allison and Katie were able to step in, work through the details, and make it happen. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we hope your recovery goes smoothly.

Great customer support

I have only been on the Solo plan for a few months but everything has worked well so far. I have been able to go to my existing doctors, both in-network and out-of-network. When I have needed assistance, the Solo support team, in particular Allison, Kylie, and Michael, has been very responsive and effective. Thanks and I look forward to the rest of the year.

Good coverage

Good coverage. Prompt customer service. Only issues: Twice I got other peoples insurance cards in the mail. Twice was strange and shows lack of attention to detail.

Thank you for the kind words about our coverage and customer service, that means a lot to us. You're right to call out the ID card issue. We're actively evaluating our ID card fulfillment process to make sure this doesn't happen again. We appreciate you flagging it, and we're glad to have you as a member.
