This company is terrible. Do not use them for any short or long term needs as that are overpriced and have very strict pre-existing condition rules. Just think about this response I received with an emergency surgery I received with no symptoms Prior to the day of surgery "Prior to addressing the issues raised in the submitted appeal, I would like to address the type of coverage purchased. The Patriot International Lite Certificate of Insurance is a supplemental lines, short term travel policy intended for persons traveling outside of their home country. It is not a comprehensive health policy and is intended for coverage of Accidents or sudden, acute Illnesses that do not result or arise from Pre- existing Condition as defined by the Certificate. Section GG. Definitions define a Pre-existing Condition as: “Pre-existing Condition: Any Injury, Illness, sickness, disease, or other physical, medical, Mental or Nervous Disorder, condition or ailment that, with reasonable medical certainty, existed at the time of Application or at any time during the three (3) years prior to the Effective Date of this insurance, whether or not previously manifested, symptomatic or known, diagnosed, Treated, or disclosed to the Company prior to the Effective Date, and including any and all subsequent, chronic or recurring complications or consequences related thereto or resulting or arising therefrom. We also respectively bring to your attention the definition of pre-existing does not require that a condition be diagnosed or treated prior to the effective date of coverage. The definition only requires that with reasonable medical certainty the condition existed prior to the effective date of coverage." So basically anything that could go wrong with you while traveling whether it be a headache or any kind of pain or ailment really, in theory that ailment could possibly existed in some way in your body for the last 3 years and therefore it won't be covered even if it showed no symptoms and you never received treatment. Lol. That literally could be anything. A cold I had months ago could return. Have you had the flu within the last 3 years? Any medical issue that was cured? Or worse anything in the last 3 years that you didn't know you had. It's not like the human body immediately has something harmful start and immediately it will show symptoms and immediately you therefore go to the doctor for treatment and it is 100% guaranteed to disappear forever immediately. That's literally not how biology works. Human biology shows that generally microscopic changes always exist before symptoms start. Insurance companies use these rules to define a "condition" not by when biology starts, but by when a doctor finds it, when you get treatment, or when signs first appear, yet that's not true when anything in the last 3 years is considered a pre-existing condition. Crazy scam company.
This process was a breeze! 10/10 would recommend.
