Just do it! I recently took 3 Super 8 films-yes films,our Wedding photos and other photos from milestones in our 50 years together and went digital. It's a very emotional journey to see the finished product! We love it! Even our own adult children had never seen the movies! So we all watched yesterday with our grandchildren! Seeing our parents and relatives and friends no longer with us is amazing. Seeing our young selves filled with young love was beautiful 50 years later. The process -could not have gone more smoothly..Sending your memories away to Legacy IS a letting go of sorts but they cover that by UPS and tracking that box and the process every step of the journey! That helps more than you know when the order comes into their hands! They continue to communicate during the digitalization and finish by letting you know your originals are on their way home! Quality- A huge deal but seriously I didn't know if my 50 year old films would be a big nothing after 5 decades! Much to our pleasure there was actual footage that was very watchable and so precious. It maybe is a little dark but our movie camera didn't even have lights back then! You wish it had sound and voices but that didn't exist back then. I'm going to add some of our Wedding music to it on Facebook where I've shared and saved it though. Lastly photos - again consider the age and condition you send them. I was thrilled . I did have Polaroid photos in the mix that I don't believe got digitalized. They were blank? Fortunately not many of those but if you have some ask about how or if they come out. I may have missed info. Future- I'm waiting for a new great deal for the bulk of my photos and I'll be viewing our old videos now to see what I want to send in next! Can't wait! Thx Legacy!

My mom who turned 83 in May had come across a reel and some negatives that were mailed to her back in the 1940’s or earlier. I wanted to surprise her for Mother’s Day and her Birthday by getting them digitized and developed. I can’t wait to get them back.

I wanted 8mm films to be transferred onto DVD. When I watched the finished DVD, the films white leaders were left between each film and one film was upside down. The colors were washed out. It’s like they put the films on a machine & just looked away. The quality was terrible. I was totally disheartened. I sent the same films to Costco before they stopped converting and those were 100 times better and cheaper. I’m not likely to use Legacy Box again.

Our film transfers are performed as one-to-one captures of the original reels without color correction, restoration, or editing, so factors such as fading, color shifts, and other age-related characteristics of the film will be reflected in the final transfer. Film leaders are also typically preserved as part of the original footage, as we do not offer any editing services. That said, we understand your concerns regarding the upside-down reel and the overall quality of the transfer. Product received was good. The issue was being signed up for a subscription which I definately did not sign up for. I then tried to cancel and yet my card was charged again the following month. This automatic signing up is underhand and a big let down. I expect my subscription to be refunded in order for any repeat business.
