This so called provider has violated my trust and failed forwarding critical information to the vetrans administrator that had referred me to them ! This company only worries about its payments leaving patients with questions on hold for hours just to foward to another dead end ! I strongly recommend staying away if you need personal help they are only equipped to push you through a computer system that is not user friendly! Completely failed in all aspects for treatment!

Poor care from Dr. Ilka Sephus and some other staff

I have had several problems with this location. First few where with old therapists who just didnt listen. What made me decide to write this review, though, was my visits with a psychiatrist named Dr. Ilka Sephus. She has proven time and time again to not want to listen to me (and perhaps other patients) and try to control YOUR medication dosage. I told her several times my depression was manageable, but she kept pushing to either up or lower the dosage AGAINST MY WISHES. Providers are meant to work WITH their clients, not CONTROL them. Additionally she would spread disinformation about marijuana and motivation, along with wrongfully labelling one of my problems in my problems list as "cannabis abuse". Additionally - and im not sure if she did this or a past provider did - this location likes to label trans individuals with "gender identity disorder", which is an outdated term for gender dysphoria as of 2013. Dr Sephus never once made me feel heard. When she would take my blood pressure, it would be elevated. She is the only doctor Ive had this issue with. She is overall extremely rude and I would not recommend her to anybody. Generally approach LifeStance ready to firmly and aggressively self-advocate, because you're going to need to if you actually want to receive help from this location.

Positive experience

I have been a patient of LifeStance for about two years and I’m satisfied with the experience. My provider, Jeffrey Veldman takes the time to listen and meet my needs. He’s always on time and never keeps you waiting.

Horrible patient service from both the…

Horrible patient service from both the provider and the front-office staff. I drove approximately 35 minutes to get to this location and arrived at the building at 8:06. Once inside, I could not determine which floor the office was on because the building directory was not labeled clearly. I also called to let the office know that I was having trouble locating them and was running late. Despite knowing I was already in the building trying to find their poorly marked office, they refused to see me when I arrived at the suite. I explained that I had canceled another important specialist appointment to attend this new-patient appointment and that I genuinely needed help. Neither the staff nor the provider showed any compassion, concern, flexibility, or interest in helping me. No one offered to let me wait for an opening, speak directly with the provider, complete the appointment by telehealth, or provide any reasonable alternative. For a mental health office dealing with new patients who may already be overwhelmed or struggling, this level of coldness and indifference is unacceptable. Their own location was difficult to find, the directory was unclear, and yet they treated me as though I simply did not care enough to arrive. I will not be returning after the horrible patient service I received from both the provider and the staff. I would not recommend this office to anyone who expects basic compassion, professionalism, or patient-centered care.

Horrible Administration system and people

the experience of getting to the session was absolutely intolerable. I made an appointment online for teletherapy through the online portal. One week before the appointment, I received a reminder that my IN OFFICE appoint was in 7 days. I attempted to log-in to my account to update to virtual. Well it stated I did not have an account associated with my name. I found the contact information for the office with which my appointment was scheduled and notified them that I would be unable to attend an IN OFFICE APPOINTMENT and to advise on next steps or cancel. No one contacted me. I received a 24 hour reminder on sunday 4/26 which again was for an IN OFFICE appointment & to reschedule if I could not attend. I did the instructions in the email to reschedule to no avail stating that the only way to reschedule is by calling the office staff directly. it is Sunday so to call back during business hours. I called the next morning at 9:05 and was on hold for 13 min and had to talk with apparently a different location in order to speak to anyone. I let that staff member know I would only be able to attend via telehealth as I live an hour away & to cancel the appointment if that can’t happen. if it can be telehealth I would need an appointment invite online as I did not have one. That staff member informed me that my provider was telehealth only so she was not sure how that happened in the first place. so she would switch the appointment Type right now. I confirmed twice that I would be getting a telehealth invite and by how and when to expect it. The staff stated I would be getting it 20-30 min ahead of the appointment and I would receive both an email and a text message to enter. I logged in about 15 min before my appoint (I did date of birthday and living address) via text. I completed the PHQ9 & GAD then it took me to the pay screen. I walked away from my phone to get my credit card. I got busy with something else. When I came back 6 min before my appoint, I had been logged out- that’s reasonable. What’s not reasonable is I could NOT get back in ever again. I was sent on a futile loop of log-in with my birthday click my address it would text me 2 factor authentication then an “error” screen would come up over and over again. I started calling the office 1 min before it started to let the provider know what happened. Again I was on hold for 8 min before ANYONE picked up verified me then had no idea who my provider was and sent me to someone else. I was on hold for another 6 min someone again picks up verified me and said Kun Tang was not in their Marietta office at which I gave the location and sent me to someone else. I was on hold for another 10 min. The third person verified me and could AT LEAST SUBMIT TO ME A ZOOM INVITE FOR MY SESSION. I have no idea why no one else could do this. I did not sign in for my session until 11:20 for an 11 am appointment. Then I was talking with the staff that they likely need to let the provider know I was there since it had been so long. This staff person stated she had no way of doing that because this provider was in the Marietta office and she did not have access to that information. So she sent me to be on yet another hold. At 11:28 my provider logged in the the telehealth appointment. As I was still on Hold with the office to notify my provider, I hung up, but again reasonably the doctor asked if I just wanted to reschedule at this point since we only had 15 min left. I was extremely anxious at this point and did not want to have to go through this again. I said I would like to move forward with the intake if it is possible. She agreed. We did the initial assessment. We were not done until 12:08. At the end I reiterated my frustration with the sign-in process and asked the provider for ways around the stress in the future. I asked her if she could call me 5 min after the start of the appointment if I had not logged in. She stated that was not the process and I would have to call the office. I became upset and stated that is what I had done. She stated that no one else had ever had this problem so it had to be me and the process was to call the office. She gave me the “direct number” which was EXACTLY THE SAME NUMBER I CALLED TWO TIMES THAT DAY. She stated that she couldn’t stay any longer as she had another patient that had been waiting the 20 min. I stated that I fully understood that frustration, but I wanted to make sure this didn’t happen in the future as to not stress her schedule again. I asked if she had any other suggestions. She stated she did not as she works for a very large corporation and the process is to call the office. I stayed with this provider as it is easier to stay then to find another provider and still there is NO WAY TO CANCEL/RESCHEDULE . Calling to cancel takes 3 phone areas to ultimately be told to go online &hung up on then online doesn’t work. Below Lifestance reply is a lie. I posted here AFTER telling them direct

I was disappointed with the level of professionalism

I was disappointed with the level of care my son received from his therapist tied to LifeStance. My son, autistic, has difficulty expressing his needs, and rather than working with him, his therapist gave him an open ended “homework “ assignment to create a list of things he wanted to talk about. This request, albeit normal for most in therapy, threw my son into a circle loop of stress and anxiety, as he didn’t know what or how to talk about, and he showed signs of distress to the degree where I told him to not worry about making this list, that I would discuss it with his therapist. So, I wrote a simple email expressing my concern of the request and the outcome, and that in the future, he required a concrete platform to choose from. His therapist did not like me telling him to stop, and had me in the room on the next visit explaining to me why what I did was wrong. In front of my child!! Furthermore, I was discussing his autism with her, she made an unprofessional comment that “I learned about autism off Google searches”. She has no idea who I am, what I do, what lengths I would go through to understand what my child is dealing with. I opted that this therapist was clearly not the right person for my child, but their demeanor, attitude, lack of professionalism, just continue to sit poorly with me. Based on this, I feel that LifeStance does a poor job in vetting out their candidates and I would not recommend them.

I absolutely love LifeStance

I absolutely love LifeStance! I had seen therapists when I was younger and it really helped! I ended up going years without one and decided I wanted to go back to therapy. Aroura, other mental health places it was over an 8 month wait and that was only for virtual. I was able to call LifeStance, tell them who and what I was looking for, and in 2 weeks had an appointment with a therapist. I definitely would recommend, and have recommend LifeStance to my friends and family. The website is very informative and has all the difference treatments that they do. 100% happy with this place!

Both Psychiatry and Therapy were Excellent

Richard was amazing for psychiatry. Karen Stein is an excellent therapist. There was only one thing that Karen said to me that struck me hard. I think that it was more because of my faith as a Christian and how we deal with our issues. It wasn't bad advise.

The service they provided was great

The service they provided was great. No complaints there, but I will complain about is the fact they held an estimated amount of the service on my credit card until my insurance company paid them. The expected refund amount was over $200. It took them over 2 1/2 months to give it back to me after many conversations with them in which each time I receive a different story. This is absolutely unacceptable. There’s no reason they should hold somebody’s money hostage while they figured it out on their end. It’s just gross.
