Gut Healthy Food

Recently, I been having some IBD issues and until I can get this completely resolved with my GI Specialist, I was introduced to ModifyHealth who has a delivery of service for meals that are categorized as Monash University FODMAP diet; basically meals formulated for people suffering from certain gut issues such as Crohns, SIBO, etc. The meals are pretty good and it takes the guesswork out of always having to read labels in order to be careful of what I am putting into my system that may be considered a trigger food. The price is not bad also because no matter what I order from the menu selection, based on the number of meals I get, the price is always the same. Most if not all of the meals are good, the delivery is on time and until I can get further tested, it is recommended that I continue with the FODMAP diet. I was reading other reviews and I do agree that not all meals are appetizing plus the FODMAP menu is very small but the FODMAP diet is not meant to be a permanent solution to any gut issue. It is meant to be temporary until your GI Specialist can get to the root of the problem and yes, some meals are small but it is recommended that people suffering from these type of issues eat small portions and yes, this can get expensive at times which is why there is also an app that can assist you with grocery shopping in order to make sure you are purchasing items that are easily digestible and will not upset the gut. I use this app extensively when I go grocery shopping in order to prepare my own meals because it is user friendly and has valuable information on the type of item you are purchasing. So far, I am pretty much satisfied with most the meals and the service.

Not happy with the service

I love the idea of this service, but in practice it does not measure up. I wanted a reliable way to stick with a FODMAP diet without having to worry about "stacking." The meals provided were of such small portions (some of them under 400 calories for a meal) that you have to supplement them with something, and then you're right back to having to compute the "stacking" on your own. A second problem, which sounds petty unless you have tried to open one of these meals yourself, is that the sealant is extremely difficult (and very messy as a result) to get off. A third problem - they use two-day shipping, not one, as do most food delivery services. The delivery window is the entire day, so you have to have a plan to get these meals inside whenever they get there, or just stay home one day each week. As for the food quality, it was very uneven, ranging from unpalatable (I threw away two of the meals) to delicious. On several of the meals, the vegetables were swimming in water. I would not recommend this service for FODMAP diets.

Did not like the food before and hard to get the plastic off. I thought I would try it again but it is not worth the price.

A couple of the FODMAP diet meals are a little watery. Steaks are well done.

enjoy the recipes, packaging is a bit inconsistent

I think the recipes are great, and the service is reliable and easy to use, and the variety of meals is good enough for me. My only complaints are: the meals often seem to have too much water that can be hard to remove without taking the good with it (e.g. mac and cheese dish); also the sealing of the film over the tray seems inconsistent and sometimes it's really difficult to remove which can be messy once the food is warmed. Other times the film comes off so easily I'm not sure if it was sealed correctly.

All but 1 meal was very good. I was highly irritated to see that they took it upon themselves to package the same meals for the next week and said was too late to cancel. I will say ,I emailed them and they were very responsive ,canceling everything.

I skipped this order being delivered on the 19th. Somehow it unmarked or disappeared. I have plenty and didn’t need it. Tried to call and cancel and couldn’t, so I just was unhappy and canceled the subscription all together.

I am still having serious di-a-rea and the first 2 days of my 1st order were wasted due to di-a-rea went right down the toilet. Is there any chance I can delay the next order that is scheduled to be shipped some time tomorrow?

Food arrived warm and spoiled

Food arrived warm and spoiled. I ordered because I have Crohns and need specific ingredients. Certainly will not be able to tolerate food improperly shipped at a warm temperature. I had to throw away the whole order and have yet to receive a response to my email inquiry regarding the issue.

Take the chance..u won't be disappointed

So far, these meals have helped me get into shape and help my cholesterol and my diabetes, I see a lot of bad reviews on here, but I don't know how anybody could say that. You should be grateful you even have somebody that's going to help you get to the point that you need to be., the MEALs are not that great FOR U BUT OTHERS LUV IT , BE grateful you got food, there's people out there that don't even get food. But overall, the experience for me has been great. They've been always on time, they call me for appointments, it's great. I love it and I don't think it should get a BAD REview or make it seem like a bad THING. It's not all that bad that you think it is.. It's been so good for me so far. So good, and I'm very appreciative of them, and thank you very much modify health AND THANK YOU TO THE DRIVER'S BEEN DELIVERING TO ME.YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST.

I am beyond thrilled with this company…

I am beyond thrilled with this company on every level. As I approach 60 my cholesterol levels had been trending up. I know a healthy diet and regular exercise could potentially assist me in reversing that trend. I invested in the Mediterranean meal plan nearly two weeks ago and I have lost 6lbs I am sleeping better and I honestly think my connective tissue disease are more manageable. The meals are delicious, the layers or flavors and quality of product exceeded my expectations. I am so grateful to have this program as a part of my health journey.

Unreliable & unresponsive!

Firstly the food is not local to my state, it came from the mid-west, secondly the delivery was not within the time frame as was promised, it was over 2 hours late in the night, was not informed so the box sat on the front steps until after 3am when my neighbor saw it and was concerned enough to hold it at his house, I got a notice in the morning that it was delivered but no proof as I requested multiple times. My neighbor called me mid-morning to let me know he had the package, in the meantime Modify's customer service were not attentive or responding to my emails and you are not able to reach them via telephone unless you set up an appointment phone call for another day. Appointment call was unproductive, no solution but a paltry apology, was told they would call me back by the next business day as I had concerns about the food sitting out in the elements for several hours, no call back or follow up via email. I absolutely do not recommend this company.

Great tasting

Great tasting, healthy meals. Outstanding service, great variety , great prices. I have used several other services, all my discontinued services had inconsistent deliveries and many issues with food arriving warm. I have never had these issues with Modify Health; the food is delivered quickly and arrives well frozen.Absolutely amazing food service!!!!!!!

Overpowering spices

Prices were to be expected. Shipped on time. Outer box had minor damage. Much condensation on meal kits as well as ice packs. Web site extremely confusing. I tried to edit my meal plan after 1st week from Low-FODMAP to Carb-Conscious, and I accidentally ordered both for same week. Difficulty in maneuvering the editing process. Most meals had an exorbitant amount of strong-tasting spices which overtook the flavor of the main ingredient of the meal. And if these spices weren't included in a particular meal kit, there was an over abundance of black pepper. Customer service was OUTSTANDING. But I probably will not rejoin. Thank you.
