I would of given zero stars. They scammed a 100 year old woman out of $6200of her savings to repair a supposedly broken water main. She is on a fixed income. She was still getting water in her basement. They came out again and said her water heater was leaking. They wanted $2000 to replace it, her water heater was not leaking! They said her thermal expansion tank was bad and wanted $500 to fix it. It was bad and was replaced for $37! Not by them. I would of directed her to use a more reputable company.
The field supervisor Danny went above and beyond. The crew that were dispatched to our property this past week were amazing. Every one that was involved went above and beyond. They took care of our end, answered all questions, and explained everything in detail.
Avoid at all cost. He is a scammer
My family and I are very upset with Jorge Alfaro of Mr. Rooter. My parents called to have a clogged drain in the kitchen fixed. Jorge came and unclogged the drain then continued to inform my 90-year-old dad that he needed a new garbage disposal and new drainage pipes. My dad usually fixes these things and he knew the disposal was still working but he recently had surgery and could not lift more than 5 lbs. Jorge quoted a price of $1.700 for all of it. It took him 2 hours to do all the work but he did not even replace the drain that comes with the new garbage disposal. He then presented my parents with a bill for over $2,000. We looked up the prices of the supplies and it came to $200 so he charged them $900 an hour! He left all the items from under the sink out on the floor and left and my dad unable to bend over to clean up his mess. To make matters worse, he installed a garbage disposal that was not the same kind, it was not hard wired and he did not know how to plug it in, so they were left with a new garbage disposal that did not work when the one he took out did work. He did not give my parents a receipt and said they would mail it but never did. We had to go to the unsympathetic, uncaring owner to get it. We saw that the supplies, tax and labor are not separated to see what each charge was. We feel Jorge and his boss just took advantage of an elderly couple.
I got school by a female plumber iam. a electrician by trade for 30 years and figured i could fix a simple fill valve..after 3hrs of frustration I called mr rooter .a young lady named keltie did the job in minutes and I had to eat crow.im lost for words how easy she made it look when I thought I was a superior tradesman being a electrician but that's absolutely the opposite .thank u for the amazing work and teaching me a life lesson Ms keltie.
This plumbing company tried to sell me a pipe repair technology that would have costed thousands of dollars. i got a local plumbing company the following day and they cleared the line. Not happy with Mr Rooterthe scammers.
I used them last October. My basement toilet backed up. He spent pretty much all day here, charged us a ton of money. Today, we had a cesspool guy here for the same problem. They actually fixed it, but we feel like we waited l wasted hundreds of dollars calling mr. Rooter. I had no choice. It was an emergency, and it was on a Sunday, but the guy seemed to have no idea what he was doing, and he was overcharging for everything. I managed to talk him down a little for the price, because he was going to overcharge me for the toilet innards .
Do not use this company!!!! Pay employees garbage. Charge you for consultation. Commission sales will try to take advantage of anyone. Do not use!!!!!
After 35 years as a landlord, this was the worst experience I've had with a contractor. It was also extremely bizarre. I hired Brian to fix recurring flooding and drain blockages in my triplex. He assured me replacing several pipes would "permanently" solve the problem. After charging $8,000, the flooding and blockages remained exactly the same. When I questioned the results, he became defensive, attacked me personally while slurring his words, and even threatened to report me for code violations—namely one involving a drain that had been removed during his own word. After I posted a negative review, his boss, Lane, reached out, and acted empathetic, claiming he wanted to make things right. But in the end he also bizarrely insisted the pipes were replaced well (that didn't in the slightest solve my issues), then offered a $150 refund, but never sent it. I would not hire this company under any circumstances. They charged thousands of dollars without solving the problem they were hired to fix, then responded to legitimate concerns with drunken phone calls, no accountability, fake niceness, and a truly bizarre conjoined inability to see that I didn't hire them to replace random pipes, I hired them to solve a plumbing issue.
From beginning to end, these guys were polite and professional. The owner Kalen was very hands on throughout the project and always kept me informed of next steps. The had the new sewer and water line done within 2 days. Technician Tyler was a true star- reassuring, polite, communicative, and did a great job getting my property back to normal! Nothing was damaged and the whole crew did a great job. I would have no hesitation trusting them for my plumbing needs.
Quote 10x higher The cold line under my vanity has a T, allowing water to go down and outside of house. The valve at the top of the connection started leaking and I couldn't fix it. Quote for 3 hours and $1200! Eventually I had someone else come in, replace the valve and a flex line for $125, in 20 mins. While they came fast, this is not a company I will ever use.
Racist owner
The company will not give an estimate over the phone.Technicians came out wanted to charge 750 for a simple drain clean out.we have our complete septic pumped for 500.When I called the technician on the price he immediately dropped the price to 300 again more than premium weekend rates. Then the technicians (two) were talking crap while leaving my property.Do not use they up charge based on the looks of your property.
Excellent Plumbing Service — Highly Recommended I had a great experience with the plumbing services provided. Josh was professional, punctual, and clearly knowledgeable from start to finish. He quickly diagnosed the issue, explained the work that needed to be done, and completed everything efficiently and with great attention to detail. The quality of the workmanship was excellent, and they left the area clean once the job was finished. I truly appreciate the reliable service and would confidently recommend Mr. Rooter to anyone in need of skilled, honest, and dependable plumbing work.
Would give 5 stars for service and workmanship, but their approach to pricing is unacceptable and excessive. Big thanks to Ty, my service tech, he was great. None of my comments relate to his level of service and professionalism, I'd be happy to have him out again, but not under Mr Rooters pricing structure. I called and asked for 'best case scenario' pricing to have a sump pump replaced and was told that they could not provide a price until a service tech reviewed the issue for a service fee, fine, fifty at least seemed reasonable. To my surprise however after a few minutes of reviewing the system I was shown four predefined sump pump options that Mr Rooter offers preloaded on an iPad. For everyone's reference, at this point in time they are: 1 pump replacement: ~$950, 1 pump + monitor: ~$1500, 2 pump (primary and backup): ~$1850, 2 pumps with battery backup: ~$3200. If these are known 'base' prices why not simply share that up front during the initial call? Going in I knew I wanted a dual pump backup system an had I known their pricing I wouldn't have even made an appointment. Unfortunately for me the weather forecast contained an environment Canada 'Yellow Warning' for a week of rain starting the next day. I reluctantly went ahead with the two pump solution since I didn't have time to shop around. I'm confident that the workmanship and product quality are great, but it's pretty ridiculous that they charge for two full sump pump installations when it is definitely not double the work to install a second pump in tandem with the first during a single appointment. Knowing these pumps cost roughly ~$400 retail (max), that's a $1000 installation fee for a ~1-2 hour job. I didn't realize I was hiring a PHD plumber. Anyway, I would have been a repeat customer but I feel taken advantage of. I have no idea why they couldn't have just been honest up front during the initial call to tell me their pricing options since they are obviously pretty standard unless they find other obvious problems. Hope this review helps others and Mr Rooter fixes it's pricing structure. Good work, sketchy business practices.
Horrible experience of an incompetent plumbing firm, would give them 0 stars if I could. Situation: Have a pipe backing up with sewage, described the situation in detail, none of that reached the technician. Mr. Rooter requested $150 trip charge (non-refundable, not counted against the job either). Plumber (named Alex Perez) arrived at the scene, quoted $2,500 for a replacement of an external iron cast line and a camera inspection of the pipe. Upon requesting to break down how this estimate is created, he simply replied "that is what it costs", no further breakdown was given. Alex then ensures that this will include a solution of the problem and is not just treating the symptoms (spoiler alert: which of course was not the case). Plumber proceeds with replacing the cast iron line (uses the wrong fitting, so future leakage is not prevented with that) and then requests another $2,500 to preasure wash the line, at which point I canceled any and all of the future interactions with them. Alex has not only not detected what the real problem was (old sewer pipe that needs to be sealed, because it is no longer connected to an old sewage system), which he overlooked, because he didn't properly do his camera inspection. He was also unwilling to write up a report or share the details of his camera inspection. He further was unable to explain the pricing behind his quotes, although Mr. Rooter promises to work with modular pricing and full price transparency. Upon requesting to talk to his superior, Alex proceeded to hang up on me. I have since worked with a different company, which was competent and could solve the problem. If you are reading this, I highly recommend to think twice whether you are booking Mr. Rooter, it was hands-down the worst plumbing experience in the last 10 years. Absolutely not recommend. - Massively overpriced - Lack of competence - Lack of communication skills - Inability to take accountability
My technical Lee had an opening before our scheduled appointment and he contacted me to see if we could change our appointment time. This was great for me because it was an earlier time. When he arrived in the company vehicle, he asked if it was okay to park in my driveway instead of assuming. He got out of the vehicle dressed in his company's uniform and introduced himself and confirmed that I was the person he had spoken to earlier. He listened to me as I explained the problem and the things that I had done to try and resolve my issue. He quickly diagnosed what the problem was and gave me an estimate of what it would cost (they do have military discounts). Once I agreed to the price, he immediately started fixing my problem and informing me of the process every step of the way. Once the job was completed, he cleaned up his work area, provided me with follow up instructions for further maintenance and my invoice. Lee and the executive assistant that set up my appointment were very professional, courteous and went the extra mile to ensure that I was satisfied with the work order. I would definitely call them again and recommend them to others
It has been 3 years since I hired them for a plumbing problem— water was getting into my basement and after being charged almost $10,000 and their excavation destroying my yard, the basement still leaks badly; they gave me 5 year warranty and they won’t honor that or finish their job. They won’t return my calls or texts.
The initial service technician (Keenan) was nice enough to begin with, even handing over the job to another (Jordan) when he went on vacation, but don’t expect anything once the service is completed! We needed detailed billing for insurance, and insurance even called and discussed this with them. Three weeks goes by and nothing. Then a couple more weeks go by, followed by a promise of getting it to insurance. Nothing after a week, then another promise. Once again it produces nothing, till the office is finally contacted and they had no clue we needed it… almost as if they were never told. You would expect better.
