This company's service is a complete scam. The "attorney" on their platform probably aren't even real. All they did was an auto plea that changed the name of violation from speeding to unsafe operation (more expensive fine), both moving violations, without any benefit to the customer at all. the When insurance came renewal, rate still went up a lot due to the ticket. In the end, they got paid, attorney got paid, the court got paid a higher fine, insurance got paid in higher premium, I paid for all of these people. Unless you're in a very charitable mood towards all these people, best to either enter the plea with the court yourself or just pay the ticket.

OTF is a convenient way to save time on…

OTF is a convenient way to save time on the grueling sometimes inept process of governments extracting money from civilians in the name of public safety. It’s essentially a referral service for attorneys. The major stickler here is avoiding getting a point on your record so that your insurance rates don’t sky rocket. Does OTF work? If saving time is your objective, then it absolutely works. As far as the 97% success rate of winning, in my 7+ years experience using OTF, I would say that’s wildly inaccurate. I think results vary depending on the lawyer you get and your personal definition of winning. It’s a gamble and the tickets I have processed here over the years have varied in outcome, my personal record is probably more like 50/50: it’s a gamble. Would I use them again? Absolutely, because my time is valuable. As far as the money back policy, I would definitely read the fine print before getting excited.

I don’t know how he did it. Honestly, I thought the ticket was a little questionable. I was skeptical of both going to court and of using Off The Record. Well, I shouldn’t have been because my lawyer beat the ticket! I just sat back and waited. Communication was excellent. I highly recommend this service.

Off the Record is a scam

My bubbie used to say “If you sleep with the dogs, you’ll wake up with the fleas.” If you want fleas hire Off the Record to represent you in traffic court. Off the Record offers a money back guarantee for traffic ticket fines and penalties Off the Record is unable to mitigate. I hired them to represent me in traffic court. I completed and signed their online contract then accurately provided the required documents. Off the Record abruptly informed me they would not represent as I had attended traffic school within an 18 month period thus disqualifying me from attending traffic school for the open citation. Here’s the rub. If I had been eligible, a fact I checked prior to hiring Off the Record, I would not have needed their services. Their scam is to hook unwitting clients who are unaware they would be able to elect traffic school when paying the fine online. It’s a simple check of a box. When they served notice they were unilaterally withdrawing from the contract for no justified cause I hastily demanded they represent me as the final settlement date for the citation was days away. It is possible for a qualified attorney to petition the court to book the moving violation as a parking violation thus averting a point being placed on their client’s driving record. Or, seeking dismissal of the ticket in the event the citing officer fails to appear in court. However the odds for mitigating a penalty without the traffic school option are a lot longer which means Off the Record’s exposure to paying a reimbursement are greater. Simply put, stay away from Off the Record and save on flea powder.

Worth every cent

I received a traffic ticket in Massachusetts in 2025. The ticket itself wasn't much, but the insurance surcharges would have cost a bundle. I reached out to OffTheRecord after hearing some word of mouth / hearing the money back guarantee. It was a perfect outcome - the ticket was completely dismissed, and I even got back the $25 that it cost to appeal. The magistrate's hearing was over Zoom, so I didn't even have to show in person. A very trustworthy, very good value company - they are 100% recommended if you have MA a ticket to fight.

Money grab

Money grab. You pay them to do no work and they send an email. They will not fight a ticket. They will put you on a deferral program and call that a win. Any person can ask for that on their own. Total waste of money. They false advertise that they will fight your ticket. That apparently costs 2k additional if you ask.

awful attorney (made it worse)

I had an awful attorney who did not follow directions and filed a plea on my behalf without talking to me 1st , even after I told them I had an affidavit ready for them, since I was not the one driving on tolls, I also had to wait 4 months before case even moved and a sly attorney asked me to sign withdrawal from the refund at the beginning of the case. She actually made it worse for me.

Horrible

Horrible. Paid them $510 to fight a ticket and the result…I have to pay original fine and do traffic school. My option in the first place. They called it a win and won’t give me my guaranteed refund. They say they will refund your money if they are not successful but they lie. I will never use them again
