Hi Michael, thank you for your feedback and we're sorry to hear about your experience. To clarify what happened, our lab ran your test twice in an effort to get your results. The initial report was inconclusive, which prompted a second run and a manual review of the raw data. Unfortunately, the team concluded that the DNA yield in the sample was too low to meet our quality control and reporting thresholds. This means that there wasn't enough viable DNA to report findings, rather than an issue with the test itself. Though this event is rare, it does happen on occasion. We understand this is frustrating, especially when you were expecting answers. We'd like to make this right. Hi Stephanie, thank you for your feedback on SinusKEY! We're glad the test itself has been a positive experience! Great question on the swabbing. The swab included with SinusKEY is designed specifically for the blow-out method, which collects mucus from the tissue. It's not intended for collecting mucus directly from the sinuses. Sinus collection would require a different swab and should only be performed by a healthcare provider to avoid injury. The blow-out method has been reviewed and approved by medical professionals both inside and outside of MicroGenDX before use and is preferred for patient comfort.
