What people say

I am giving a 1 because they did not…

I am giving a 1 because they did not help us with an issue we had when booking through them. They use a company in Lisbon called Klass Wagen. This company are a complete scam, a shoddy company who lie and lie repeatedly. I would not recommend under any circumstances. I helped my young son book his first car hire (through Planetrentalcars) to collect from Klass Wagen at Lisbon airport. I ensured he paid for the fully comprehensive option beforehand so he would be covered for every eventuality at pick up. On collecting the car however, he was repeatedly told by a member of staff on the desk that the insurance he had purchased with Planetrentalcars was a 'scam'! not worthy and he needed to pay a further 195 euros to ensure it was covered. Being very inexperienced in these type of situation, also it being very late at night, tired, and under pressure from them, he reluctantly paid the additional. When he told me the following day, I tried to get help from Planetcarrrentals, they filed a claim against KW, but KW insisted they had done nothing wrong, and, more to the point, said my son was happy to pay the extra charge, which was SIMPLY A LIE! The extra charge he paid was over and above the full cost of the car hire and full insurance. At only 23 years old and in his first job, what young person, would be happy to pay this additional amount?! KW denied any wrongdoing, however, it seems they are very used to lying and scamming individuals as their other reviews testify. Shameful. Planetcarrentals were useless and should have demanded Klass Wagen refund the additional amount my son paid, but they did not.

AVOID! this company

AVOID! this company, they are fraudulent. When we arrived at the airport, we discovered our rental car had been given to someone else. We paid in full for the rental but were only offered a partial refund. They claimed this was because we were more than an hour past our scheduled pick-up time, so they had let the car go. Our flight was delayed by exactly one hour, and we couldn't inform the company of this while we were still on the runway.

Customer service is dreadful

Customer service is dreadful I hired a car on 9 June for 2 days in Dublin. I was quoted £35. I was charged £353. I have been waiting for a reply for nearly 2 months. I have sent in a numerous amount of queries. I have sent my visa bill to you as you wanted proof. Still I am waiting for a reply. I did put up a review and they got back to me, yet I am still waiting,

Scammers

I rented a car from them malpensa airport my flight was over a hour late and they just canceled my car there was nothing on the paper work to say if you were late we will cancel the car so l am just letting people no not to rent a car from this Company you can not trust them . There where two other people at the airport in the situation worst company I have ever used

Absolutely fraudulent

Absolutely fraudulent, I rented a car and called them to find my way to pick the car up on getting there I was told the car had been given to someone else. Then I asked for full refund and now I’m been offered a partial refund why??? Please I want my full refund and compensation for leaving my wife and I stranded.

Booked a car in Warsaw Chopin airport…

Booked a car in Warsaw Chopin airport thro planetcars & thought they looked ok as prices were reasonable £125 3 days plus I added all iinclusive ie no excess thro planetcars only £21 If memory serves . On collection was told that didn't cover everything keys wheels & windscreen & a €1000 credit card deposit would be required! I'd seen reviews stating other rentals had additional damage charges made after they'd left & suggested they'd caused scratches or wheels having stone chips!! Was told "If you take our insurance at €29 per day you won't have to leave a credit card deposit! I wanted peace of mind so paid it. On returning the vehicle there were two guys waiting to look around it & were meticulously inspecting everywhere! Pointing out two small blemishes on the front & one wheel & that they weren't there when vechile was collected! When I explained I had the insurance they said I wouldn't be charged! So you dont have to pay the excess insurance planetcars offer at additional cost at the time of rental because A it has to be claimed back after the charges are made & B I bet it's a lot fun trying to get reimbursed ! I suggest people book the added insurance direct on arriva at the desk thro the Alamo /National/ Enterprise franchise desk but obviously that makes it a lot more expensive! We could've got a taxi to our destination cheaper there & back. Seems malpractice is the norm! Just look at Google reviews!

Seems like a scam

My dad booked a car and quickly realised he didnt need it so cancelled the booking within the time frame stated to receive a refund. Still chasing the refund. We rang the number on their website to be told the phone number on the website isnt for planet rentals. No response to emails. Everything screams out scam. Avoid at all costs.
