Plan is advertised as free but its only a 7 day trial. There's no free plan. When 7 days are up you're stuck with a QR code that doesnt work anymore.

Deceptive practice
Deceptive practice. They make it easy to create a QR code, but don't make it clear that the code will deactivate after 7 days unless you pay them $35 a month. Apparently, there is a "static" QR code that lasts beyond the 7 days, but it's not the default, and I wasn't even aware of it when I was creating a QR code for a flyer. Now I have informational flyers out in the world with dead QR codes, and QR.io wants to money to reactivate them.

Greetings from QR.io: You are Officially Screwed After 7 Days Unless You Pay us Money ****BUYER BEWARE****
I used QR.io to generate a QR code for 250 professionally printed business cards. The website did not make it sufficiently clear during the creation process that the code depended on a paid subscription or that it would be deactivated after a seven-day trial.
Only after receiving my cards did I discover that the QR code had stopped working and that keeping it active would require a subscription costing $39.99 per month. That left all 250 newly printed cards effectively unusable unless I agreed to an expensive recurring payment.
This is not a minor inconvenience. QR codes are commonly placed on permanent printed materials such as business cards, signs, packaging, menus, and labels. Any expiration date or continuing subscription requirement should be displayed prominently before the customer creates and downloads the code—not discovered after it has already been printed hundreds of times.
Thankfully, my printing company helped me replace the code and remade my entire order, but they should never have been placed in that position. I replaced the QR.io code with a genuinely static QR code from another provider that does not expire or require a monthly payment.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend QR.io for permanent printed materials or anything for that matter. In my opinion, no good company is going to keep details as important as subscription fees hidden until they are due. Read every detail carefully before using their codes, because what appears to be a simple QR-code generator may ultimately leave you facing a recurring subscription or a pile of useless printed products.
Bad company, cannot recommend at all.
