Honestly, what an incredible tool. I can't believe how much of a game changer this has been for my emails. I was starting to hate emails. They were causing me so much stress. I couldn't help but open my inbox; it was like an automatic thing. But now that sanebox sorts my emails, I can just look in the inbox and not feel it's cluttered anymore. And when I have time, I go through and sort through my emails.

a practical tool for dealing with the flood of e-mails without losing track and freeing up as much space as possible in your e-mail inbox.
You have to trust the provider, as they have full access to the mailbox, but this is also the case with Sparkmail, for example.

Security concerns
I tried it shortly and didn't care for the system. However, my concern is that within a few days, my credit monitoring found my email and SSN on the "dark web," whatever that is. I wouldn't have left a review, but the timing is suspicious, and I have never had a data breach like this prior to the free trial. I cannot verify, so my review is not based on that alone. I like the idea of the program, but its complexity and security concerns pushed me away.

We appreciate the honest review. I wanted to ease some stress that finding out your SSN was found on the dark web. And I want to assure you that the notification that you received from your credit monitoring has nothing to do with using SaneBox.
Personal information being shown on the dark web is caused by company leaks. Normally the credit monitoring company will alert you of what companies have had data breaches. If you look at that list, you'll notice that SaneBox is not listed. That is because our #1 priority is to secure our customer's data. That is why SaneBox is not free because we do not sell your information and we spend a lot on security.
You may have received that notification because of a recent data breach that has gone public recently.

The customer service was shocking
The customer service was shocking! There were so many issues with the service and it's 'learning' wouldn't learn. When customer service contacted me, I told them the issues I was having and they turned off all functionality - making it useless. When I asked why it was no longer working and questioned whether I was talking to a bot they cancelled the account. I got the impression it's a very small company run by people who only want good feedback.

Sanebox is one of my favourite tools!
Sanebox is one of my favourite tools!
I don't like email, but mostly because it's gotten out of control in recent years. I'm not an inbox-zero type of person, so I've been really thankful to Sanebox for giving me the ability to keep my inbox from becoming a total nightmare. I don't have to go through regular mass delete exercises anymore, nor do I have to go on my annual unsubscribe task, spending hours clicking links and verifying I've unsubscribed. The SaneBlackHole alone is worth the price.
I signed up on the advice of a friend in 2022 and purchased the two-year plan. My renewal is coming up in a few months and there's no question it's an essential expense for my business!

Cancelled, restarted, phew!
I had this for a bit, decided I didn't need it that much, and cancelled. ERROR! I suddenly realized how much it had been helping without my really appreciating it. Restarted my subscription and I am once more a happy camper. It's not perfect – but then what is? – but it is a huge help in keeping the Inbox less congested and letting me deal with email in an orderly manner. Highly recommended.

One day my card expired... and I could tell...
May be I could make my own filters... Maybe I could set this all up on my own... BUT WHY!!??
I've been a customer for many, many years now and I'll say this, seeing only the important emails is not only a time saver but also a stress reducer. The inbox overwhelm is a real thing.
Not long ago I had a payment laps due to an expired card and BOY could I tell a difference. I woke up to HUNDREDS of emails. I thought, 'WTH?!'. Quickly checked my account, updated my card, and the inbox promptly dropped to 12 *important* emails.
This is the real deal for anyone with inbox anxiety or someone who just wants to be more productive.

My inbox has been a source of constant stress for years now. Google's filtering "solutions" were zero help in the long run (not surprising since their business model exponentially increases the rate that we're all spammed). I was amazed how relaxed I felt when all that was taken away by SaneBox. It was an immediate - "It's all gone, Yay!" I am genuinely grateful to SaneBox for containing all the toxic garbage so that I don't even lay eyeballs on it. That was the most critical thing - not interacting with it at all, except as grouped labeled items, which kept it abstract and manageable because you can apply theory to your choices. Even seeing newsletters or non-actionable email creates a decision-overwhelm on a daily basis, and no one can afford this or should be forced in that position anymore. I believe an inbox filled with stuff we don't want and didn't really ask for is a violation of our civil rights - the electronic equivalent of door to door salesmen knocking on your house every 3 minutes, all day, every day. SaneBox is a restoration of civility. It really should be internet law.
