The good news is that yes you do have the option of turning the music off within the app. It's found in the avatar settings area. This occurs for a couple of reasons: Firstly, it actually encourages greater levels of concentration and focus. Students need to listen for the key elements and at the same time discard any bits that are not relevant. Much like fitness training, there is benefit to be had by increasing to degree to which the body has to overcome. Secondly, the music and animations allows us to create a far more engaging experience for children and this in turn encourages them to play and learn to much a greater extent. Music and highly engaging environments will not be optimal for all children. Our web version is significantly toned down in this regard as opposed to the app version. Great to hear that your daughter is enjoying Skoolbo. In general, most of the learning games on the web version involve solo playing with Snazzimal character celebrating each successful answer, whereas the 3D downloadable app version sees children playing with others. We are sorry to hear of your slow speeds. Our Google Analytics figures suggest that most people do not encounter such an issue. At times speeds may be impacted by the device and web browser you are using or your internet service provider. We try to ensure that our customers have minimum lag time by having cloud services near where our main customers live..... our core infrastructure is deployed from US, Canada, UK, and Australia, while our videos and eReaders are deployed over content distribution network usually located within a customer's country. Great to hear that you love Skoolbo and your child is having a fun learning time! It's possible that you haven't seen the full extent of Skoolbo curriculum........as far as we know, Skoolbo is the program for 4 to 10 year olds with the largest content range including: * Over 60,000 literacy and numeracy questions * Hundreds of animated lessons teaching concepts * Over a thousand books including a levelled reading program * My Reading - where children are able to read, record, replay and improve their reading * My Writing - where children write and then narrate short passages * Science, Geography and STEM - hundreds of books and short Curiosity lessons * Languages - Chinese, Spanish and French............next week we will also be releasing an additional 19 languages for both those learning a new language as well as those learning English as a second language. * Music - hundreds of songs to give a love of music, promote activity and learning * Art - short lessons to increase drawing skills * Introduction to Money - financial literacy lessons * Brain Games - a large number of games to promote strategic thinking and other higher order skills. One of the things we strive for with Skoolbo is to take this very large amount of curriculum and present in such a way that is intuitive and not overwhelming. The Daily Challenge draws from the thousands of curriculum items and presents each child with a unique approximately 20 minute set of activities based on all of their previous work. Children, parents and teachers are also able to select from any of the curriculum.
