Teaching is great

Teaching is great. I use Babble also and find this program more practical… On thing I would suggest is to have larger text button or option to download a PDF In addition to images..Cheers

Stress Free German is great 🇩🇪

I’ve been with Stress Free for more than a year now. I listen to lessons on my way to work most every morning. Each lesson lasts a little more than 20 minutes. Every lesson has Listening Practice Audios, visuals, German media clips, stories, grammar and common every day expressions. Every transcript is written out word for word and I can read what I’ve learned after listening to each lesson. I have worked my way through 6 volumes (at least 20 lessons per volume). I’m looking forward to starting volume 7. I found Stress Free German on Spotify. The first volume is free 👍

First time I actually enjoying study German :)

I studied German up to A2-2 level at a language school five years ago, but I had not studied it at all since then. Since I want to pass the B1 exam, I started listening to SFG Vol.1, and for the first time, I feel like I am starting to understand German a little. I have also gained the confidence to construct full sentences on my own. Most importantly, studying German, which used to feel so overwhelming, has actually become a bit fun. I am looking forward to continuing with Vol.2. Thank you very much for such a great lesson :)

Finally Clicked!

After using Babbel and Duolingo, I finally stumbled upon Stress Free German lessons and it all finally clicked. I love listening in the car and then taking notes at home again. I love having to repeat with the prompts right away and the spiral review with prompts from previous lessons. The stories Mark tells to make connections have even led me to research my German/Austrian roots. New words are taught with a story that imbeds the word in your brain. I just 20 lessons in a few weeks and then went back to Duolingo for games and I’m acing it all. Thank you Mark!!

I recommend this course!

I looked at several German learning apps and Stress Free German is the one I prefer for its comfortably paced lessons that are intelligent, thorough and detailed. I've listened to the first 10 lessons so far in my car and was able to pause and replay at my convenience. I love the native speakers who help with pronunciation, as well as the course instructor who feels like a friend already! I've already learned so much.

The best method for learning German. Puts others to shame!

Of all the language learning methods Ive tried... Duolingo, Rosetta Stone, Youtube videos, etc... Stress Free German is the best, and the ONLY one which has given me progress. Its extremely comprehensive and easy to pick up. The instructor is very clear and concise in his words and uses incredibly effective techniques to keep the language churning in your mind, helping you learn the language, not just memorize it. Allowing you to learn the language by simply going about your day! Anyone seeking to learn German, this is the place. 10 stars if I could!

This is what you've been looking for, even if you didn't you needed it yet.

Although I'm an intermediate learner I found even the beginner podcast extremely helpful in backfilling gaps in my fundamentals. The pictoral and auditory associations are great and really do help a lot. Mark's grouping concept is what I've been looking for. A great teacher!

With Stress Free German I am able to…

With Stress Free German I am able to retain what I learn better because there are associations built right into the pictures to remind me that something is neuter, feminine or masculine. If you are a visual learner like I am, this methodology is very effective.

stress free German podcast on spotify

I've been using the stress free german podcast alongside formal lessons and found it very helpful. Whereas the formal class is good at keeping me disciplined to keep to a timetable, SFG has taught be far more conversational language skills. Importantly, it's giving me the ability to build sentences to have the conversations that I want to have rather than being limited to the phrases I've been taught.

Stress Free German with Mark – A Fantastic Experience for Relearning German

With some exposure to the German language, my fluency faded over the years, especially the subject-verb-object order and cases system/indefinite articles. I had listened to many other German podcasts/courses and finding “Stress Free German" with Mark was a game-changer! Mark’s teaching style is what truly sets this course apart. He has a talent for explaining digestible and visual "grouping concepts", which was exactly what I needed to solidify constructs I had forgotten. For example, his step-by-step approach to "punch your palm"/action for articles is incredibly vital for the foundation of learning German. Mark reinforces learning with native speakers, pdf learning guides and practice lessons. Every lesson is structured to build upon the previous one, with repetition woven into the process in a way that feels natural rather than monotonous. Mark’s calm demeanor and encouraging tone create a truly “stress-free” environment, which I found especially convenient while running errands and doing yard work. He strikes a perfect balance between challenging you to grow and making you feel comfortable with your current level. Overall, Stress Free German with Mark has been an incredible resource for me. It’s the perfect blend of structure and I’d recommend it to anyone—whether you’re starting from scratch or, like me, looking to reconnect with your mother's mother tongue!

Excellent and Engaging

I found this course on Apple Podcasts, and I also use their great website. This course takes an intimidating language and actually makes it fun and engaging. I keep looking forward to going back to it. I feel like I’m interacting with the 3 instructors in a little German club. The approach in Stress Free German is very different from other language courses. The effectiveness is apparent from the first lesson. Let me tell you what this course has done for me. I work long hours with a short commute. So I have no time for activities like learning a new language. Yet, in 2 months, I got through Volume 1 and went on my first trip to Switzerland for 2 weeks. My Swiss German friend assured me that most of them speak English, and I knew that Swiss German is a different dialect anyway. So trying to learn High German in 2 months seemed like a fool’s errand. But I followed Mark’s teachings, went on my trip, and spoke German as much as I could. Did I make mistakes? Absolutely! Did I make a fool of myself? YES. But then some interesting things happened. I would say phrases well enough that people would dignify my questions by responding in full-speed German! Then I had the harrowing task of trying to understand what the heck they were saying. But that’s ok, because you’ll learn from each mistake. Each time you get over the fear and interact with people, you’ll learn by listening. I could have enjoyed my trip just fine knowing zero German. But by trying to engage the Swiss people in their own language, I connected with them on a different level. Not only did they help me learn German, but I also learned regional Swiss differences in the language. I began to understand their culture. I began to see not only the wonderful ways in which we are different, but also the ways in which we are all the same. I don’t have another trip planned to a German speaking country. But I still got volume 2 of the course. I didn’t even use the discount.

An image is worth 1000 words

I’ve studied German before, and one of the things I struggled with was keeping track of the gender of things then I stumbled upon stress free German, and they have a masterful approach to this, They use images to fix gender in your mind. That along with a skillful use of repetition and clever vocabulary building makes stress free German the best language learning source I’ve encountered so far.

Stress free German is unlike any other…

Stress free German is unlike any other language learning platform. This course gives you the literal translation of almost everything which helps with understanding and application in conversation. I feel that I have a good base now and will continue with stress free German to become more fluent.

They care about you learning...this is not your high school German.

My experience with the company is that they care if you learn the language and thankfully don't just have you conjugating verbs forever. Lessons are short and not boring and you learn something new every time. And everything you learn they build on in later lessons so that you don't forget it. I have always wanted to learn a foreign language, did not in high school after 5 years of Spanish. But now this course is giving me hope that I will be a German speaker in less time than expected. Every time I do a lesson I can't wait to do more.

Stress Free German is great ! You actually LEARN rather than mimic

I finished the 1st volume of lessons & found them to be v well structured & enjoyable (stress-free!). But the main take-away for me is that certain areas of grammar which are tricky are explained clearly, & naturally (i.e. no tables or matrices). Several times I had "Eureka" moments - "Ah - now I get it!", which made it easier to internalise & (crucially) remember it. These moments did not come from any of the other on-line language courses I have used. I will be going forward with the other Volumes. Thank you SFG, yours is the best programme I've found.

Really stress free and easy to follow

I did volume 1 and it's very easy to consume. I take 1 +/- 20min episode with me on my walks. The material and the teaching method is new to me but it works for me. Visuals and explanations were clear and easy to follow. It's more on understanding than memorization. I plan to get the next volumes.

Stress Free German - Very useful tool!

I would highly recommend Stress Free German. The first 20 episodes are available for free, with additional volumes available for purchase. It has made a huge difference for me in mastering some of the parts of German grammar that I just wasn’t getting, even though I was taking a well-regarded German course online and working with a tutor. The approach is quite different, and I found the emphasis on visuals and working with phrases to be really helpful. Five stars!

Great way to learn German for…

Great way to learn German for beginners. It focuses on sentence construction and what to do with the supporting words depending on the gender of the noun. Really good system of teaching and getting you to work out and speak different sentences using different combinations of pronouns / verbs / nouns. I tried duolingo and various books first but found this podcast so much more useful. I'll be signing up for volumes 2 & 3!
