Beautifully crafted language course...
I have just completed the first volume of SFG (that has been generously provided for free). I am really impressed by the quality of the teaching method. I have been learning german on and off for a few years and have tried several different approaches including teach yourself style books, podcasts, audiobooks, YouTube videos, listening to german music, watching german movies, classroom courses, and even trying to learn from my german girlfriend. Still, a lot of the grammatical concepts were very confusing to me and therefore I never felt confident in my speaking.
I think SFG has masterfully clarified the fundamentals of german grammar seamlessly where other methods have fallen short. The episodes are addictive and I feel like I am internalizing the content organically rather than trying to force myself to memorize a plethora of abstract rules.
The teaching approach is sensible and feels like being coached in german rather than being instructed or lectured.
Thank you for the great work in developing these courses! I am looking forward to continuing with the following volumes!
I have completed volume I and volume II of stress-free German, and have found them to be one of the most useful tools in learning, German! I’m about to purchase volume III! I initially started with a tutor one on one, but wasn’t really progressing until I used the stress free German products. Thoroughly recommend!

This is the way to learn a foreign language
I have always wanted to learn German as I have family living there and would like to reach even an intermediate level of proficiency. So about 7 years ago I started watching some of the popular YouTube language channels but quickly became overwhelmed by the lack of structure and rapid introduction of the case system with no real buildup. So I gave up.
Then I tried starting back up with a couple of German instruction podcasts so that I could listen on my commute to & from work, while on a jog etc. and made some more progress before, again, wondering why I wasn't "getting it". Thankfully, I found Stress Free German earlier this year and even though it took me about 6 months to get through all 20 episodes (I listen to each episode 2-3 times, then read the transcripts) it FINALLY feels like I'm getting the basics down. I learned the dative and accusative without even realizing it!
Many thanks to Mark and his team for finally giving me the momentum I needed as a busy professional to learn German at my own pace and not having to memorize grids of the different cases with no understanding of how I got there. I will now purchase not just Volume 2 but all of 2-5 so that I can finally get to that conversational proficiency I've always hoped for. Thanks Stress Free German!

German is daunting because of the…
German is daunting because of the system of cases and declentions. Stress Free German takes the learning of German to a new level as it eliminates having to learn declension tables makes learning German much more enjoyable. I strongly recommend this method of learning.

A fun and effecient way to learn German
I tried a few other courses before this one, but nothing was even close to the quality of Stress free german. The unique mordern methods used in this course makes it not only fun to learn the language, but its much more effective than the traditional school teaching way. This way of teaching is fun and gets your brain to faster understand how to think in German.
This is an exceptional language learning program. In recent years work and personal relationships have brought me (a native English speaker) to Germany quite frequently, and I've been casually trying to learn German for the last two years. Nothing really stuck for me until I tried SFG. My progress in just a few months has impressed German friends and family and I'm so excited that I'm able to engage and understand German speakers. SFG's approach is like nothing I've experienced before, and with a combination of context based and active learning techniques I never feel like I'm memorizing - but really acquiring the language. I cannot overstate my gratitude to the people who developed this program, and I highly recommend it to anyone considering learning German. I wish this is what I had started with two years ago!

Learn German with stress free german
I tried to learn German a few time, even followed a course at a language school. But it's rules too complicated, I stopped it again and again. Finally, I found stress free german podcast, I am so enjoying and understand the rules. I am 60 years old. I am happy that I can learn and speak German now. Many thanks
Stress Free German is awesome! The techniques they use really work. They don't just teach you a bunch of canned phrases, They actually teach you how the language works and give you a ton of great tips to help you relate the language to places and things you know.
Plus it's fun! Or should I say Das macht Spaß. We downloaded Volume 1 for an upcoming vacation and, after following the lessons on my way to and from work, I can't wait to get home and review the images and written material with my wife.
Finally a podcast similar to Paul Noble's audiobook
Finally a podcast similar to Paul Noble's technique!! There are so many podcasts to learn German but this is the only one I found so far that uses well thought out and effective learning techniques.
For example most podcasts (and audio books) tell you a word or phrase in German and then you're expected to repeat it and then the narrator says the word in.. wait for it.. the language you already know (head smack) ! But this is backwards!! Stress Free German gets it right. They say the word or phrase in English first and then let you say it in German and then it's repeated in German. Now that's how people actually learn language!
I am well past the level of this podcast but I'm listening to it, just to marvel at their teaching technique. Wish there was a higher level! Please keep the episodes coming!!

Thanks so much, Rachel. We have four more volumes of the course, each progressively more challenging. Volume IV, for example, preps students for the A1 Speaking Exam. (You can find them on the site itself, StressFreeGerman.com)

Easy to follow along
Learning is set out in a way that is easy to follow, explained in simple terms without going too deep, too fast and adds visual and sound cues that make recalling genders easier and helps you with constructing phrases.
I've purchased volume 2 and looking forward to continuing.
I recommended giving it a go.

This is a really excellent podcast!
This is a really excellent podcast. I learned German at school in the 70s but was very rusty. This is exactly what I needed. But it’s also perfect for beginners due to its completely logical and systematic approach.

This is the course you are looking for!
If you want a painless, efficient, and effective way to truly learn German, then look no further.
The teaching strategy in this course genuinely works. No more old school teaching styles that force memorization of endless lists. The approach here weaves together visual and contextual learning that builds a solid foundation–one that is easy to navigate as you add in more words and greater understanding.
I have never thought of myself as a visual person, but now I realize I was wrong. I simply never applied it to learning before in any serious way. Here, however, I found myself absolutely reliant upon calling up the associated images in my mind. Once the images were anchored in my brain, it became a breeze to instantly jump to one, and know whether a noun requires der, das, or die. Easy. I made it a habit to briefly, but consistently, review the images in each category until they were ingrained in my mind–which didn’t take long.
Also, because pattern recognition is constantly used, it is almost as if you are being taught grammar in a covert way. All of a sudden I realized I actually understand the grammar and I didn’t even have to memorize anything. My mind didn’t even have an opportunity to put up resistance to the fact that I was learning grammar. Do not discount this fact! This is priceless if you truly want to learn a foreign language.
If you earnestly follow the suggestions given from the get-go, and are honest with yourself by taking it at a pace in which you are comprehending each chunk offered, you will absolutely be successful. But, even if there is something you don’t fully get right away, he goes over the concepts again and again until you do. You will understand. Trust the process.
Finally, a generous amount of lessons (20) are given for free in order for you to check out the method and see how it works for you. After one or two lessons I was sold that this was definitely the way to go. There is nothing to lose, only confidence to gain that you can indeed learn this language.
Having said all that, this course has been a lot of fun and if you truly want to learn German this would be my recommendation.
