I wish I could give negative stars
I wish I could give negative stars. I've had my entire portfolio listed for sale for over a year - no activity and no assistance from Support to even attempt to help me liquidate. My last resort was to get the wine shipped to me but don't even try that as it costs over $200 per case to ship it. I had high hopes for this alternative asset class only to be wildly disappointed with how poorly this platform is run.

Definitely a scam
Definitely a scam. Impossible to sell your wines or liquidate your portfolio when you need to, value of wines are misrepresented, absurd fees are being charged when you want to ship your wines. Withdrawal also takes ridiculously long in this era where money transfer can be instant. Heed the lessons of many others who have left negative reviews - they are there for a reason.

I'm still waiting for my money.
I'm still waiting for my money.
I cashed out 33 days ago. The money left my account, but it still hasn't made it to my bank account which I have linked to their system.
Edit: After 35 days, I finally received my funds.

Hi Tolga,
We apologize for the delay in processing your withdrawal request! We were overhauling the entire bank linking system - which took longer to troubleshoot and get going than we anticipated. We appreciate your patience and understanding while this upgrade was made. It looks like your withdrawal was processed 7/14 so you're good to go! Any new requests should only take 1-3 weeks max to process, back to our normal timeline.
Cheers!

They Sold My Wine, Removed the Money From My Account, and Never Paid Me
Investor since 02/2021 — down ~28%, and proceeds from recent sales have been withheld for 6 weeks and counting.
Beyond poor performance, I’ve experienced serious operational problems:
1. Double-billing: Vinovest offered a prepaid annual fee plan (storage, insurance, etc.) at a 15% discount. I paid it in full — yet they continued withdrawing monthly fees from my bank account anyway.
2. Withheld funds: I requested full liquidation of my account over 3 months ago. Vinovest has sold only a portion of my bottles (all at a loss). Worse, the sale proceeds were withdrawn from my Vinovest account 6 weeks ago — but have never been deposited into my bank account. Their own confirmation email promised deposit within 1–2 weeks; when I followed up, support claimed the timeline was actually 2–3 weeks, which matches their published withdrawal policy. Either way, that deadline passed weeks ago. The money has left my Vinovest balance and simply not arrived.
3. Unreachable support: Emails to Vinovest support and my assigned portfolio manager go unanswered. The phone number listed on my portfolio manager’s own emails has been changed.
4. Questionable valuations: The wine valuations and purchase prices are opaque and, in my experience, misleading.
Whether this reflects bad faith or a company in financial distress, I can’t say. What I can say is this: your investment will be illiquid, the advertised returns did not remotely match my experience, and when I liquidated, Vinovest took the proceeds out of my account and did not pay me — in violation of their own written withdrawal policy. I would not recommend investing with this company, and if you already have, I would begin the exit process now.

Hi Flavien,
The prepaid plan locks in the discounted fee rate and a fixed monthly prepaid credit based on the portfolio value when the prepaid was purchased. Each month, we recalculate the management fee using the portfolio's current value. If the portfolio value has increased since the prepaid purchase, the recalculated fee can be higher than the fixed monthly prepaid credit. In that case, the difference is charged to the portfolio's funds balance or autopay.
Regarding withdrawals, the withdrawal system has been down for longer than we hoped, but the updates are finally almost finished being made, and we hope to have withdrawals up and running again soon. We apologize for the delay, but the new withdrawal system will be smoother and more secure.
We have received your emails to support and answered all inquiries as fast as possible, in the order they are received.
We'd be happy to discuss valuations further if you have questions. Please let our support agent know your specific questions about valuation on the current ticket you have with them.
Finally sold one of my wines...but no way to withdraw my money
I finally sold one of my wines after many months of being for sale, now I want to withdraw my funds and it just keeps the error message: "International withdrawals to your country aren't supported yet..."
I am really losing faith for this company, just want to withdraw that one and keep selling the other ones.

I joined Vinovest in August 2022. Nearly four years later, my portfolio is still down, with a cost basis around $1,320 and an estimated value around $1,246.
The real problem is liquidity. The platform shows estimated market values, but those values do not feel like prices I can actually sell at. One of my wines is displayed at $561 current value, yet the marketplace page shows a last trade of $450, a highest bid of $260, and a lowest ask of $427. That is a huge disconnect between “estimated value” and actual market demand.
Vinovest’s own help pages say selling depends on attracting a willing buyer and that they cannot guarantee a liquidation timeline. They also say fine wine and whiskey are long-term, illiquid assets. That is very different from the smooth, accessible investment experience I expected when I signed up.
After years of holding, I am down overall, paying fees, and stuck with assets that are beyond difficult to sell. I would not recommend Vinovest to anyone looking for real liquidity, transparent executable pricing, or a simple alternative investment. An estimated portfolio value means very little if there is no realistic buyer near that price.
They claimed to email me but I didn't recieve an email. What a joke

Brent — you offered to review accounts personally. Your CS manager is ignoring mine.
Brent, I've seen your replies here offering to personally review accounts, so I'm addressing this to you directly — because going through your team has led nowhere.
I have a withdrawal that has been debited from my account but has never reached my bank:
Requested: USD 30,369.26 on 23 May 2026
Shows as withdrawn/debited on my account, dated 30 June 2026
Six-plus weeks later: nothing has arrived in my bank
Vinovest's own terms say withdrawals process within 1–2 weeks once bank details are confirmed. My payout account is the same one I've been paid to before, so the details are correct — there's no issue on my side.
When I first raised it, I was told it was a system/processing error and that the payment would be sent manually. I acknowledged that in writing and agreed. Since then, nothing.
Since then I have emailed your Customer Service Manager, 〇〇〇, directly about this — more than once — and have received no reply at all. Being left with complete silence on a payment of this size, after being promised a manual transfer, is not acceptable.
To be clear, this is not about wine-sale timelines. The money has already left my Vinovest account; it simply hasn't reached mine.
Brent, could you personally confirm: (1) the status and reason for the six-week delay, (2) a wire/ACH reference so my bank can trace it, and (3) a firm date the USD 30,369.26 will land. My account is under my registered name and email, and I'll provide anything needed to locate it immediately.
I'd genuinely rather resolve this directly. I'll update this review when it's paid.

Hi Koji,
Customer service is working with accounting to get the wire confirmation for you. We apologize for the delay in processing this and appreciate your understanding.
I cannot recommend Vinovest based on my experience.
I invested expecting a long-term alternative investment, but when I decided to liquidate my account, I had to sell my holdings at a significant loss. While market performance is always a risk, what has been even more frustrating is trying to access my own money.
I submitted my withdrawal request on May 23, 2026. Vinovest’s website stated withdrawals typically take 2–3 weeks, but that timeline came and went. I was later told withdrawals were delayed because the company was implementing a new payment processing system. I promptly provided all of the additional banking information they requested for a manual wire transfer.
I was then told my wire would be processed, and my Vinovest account even showed the funds as withdrawn as of 6/29/2026. Despite that, the money never arrived in my bank account. Weeks after initiating the withdrawal, I still have not received my funds or a wire trace number confirming the transfer was actually sent.
Customers should not be prevented from accessing their own money because of a company’s internal operational issues. Having to realize a substantial investment loss is difficult enough. Not being able to receive the remaining proceeds after waiting well beyond the company’s stated withdrawal timeframe is unacceptable.
I have now filed a complaint with the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation in hopes of getting this matter resolved.
EDIT Re: business reply.
This is the same response I’ve been hearing from their Customer Service for 2 weeks. I don’t expect to receive an update anytime soon.

Hi Justin,
We apologize for the delay with your withdrawal. Our accounting team is working on this request and our customer service manager will update you as soon as possible with confirmation of processing.
Unfortunately, I am very concerned this is a scam since my money cannot be withdrawn despite me being a customer with them for 5 years. They charge absurd fees. They do not stand by their product. Do not invest with them. You will not see your money. It actually says over 5 years I have a loss. How is that possible? I sent multiple emails about withdrawing my money.

Hi Ashley,
We've reached out via email to discuss a strategy to get your listings sold. They are currently listed over FMV, which may be the problem in attracting a buyer. We are happy to help with your liquidation and we've waived the next 3 months of storage fees as well.
Cheers!
Just a scam. Don't invest. They won't sell and force you to put more cash in for management fees.
Reply from Vinovest2026-06-25
Hi Sushrut,
Checking your portfolio, it looks like you added a good discount to your listings, and the wine has already been sold. Whiskey does take some time to sell on the internal marketplace as it's not old enough to list externally yet.
We've waived the next 3 months of fees for your portfolio, to give your whiskey some time to sell without storage fees being charged.
If you need assistance, please feel free to reach out to [email protected]
Cheers!

DO NOT
Easy to get in, impossible to get out. Your wines won’t sell. I requested a withdrawal 52 days ago and still haven’t received a cent—while they hide behind excuses about “withdrawal system glitches.” Unacceptable.

Hi Pierre,
Checking our system, it looks like your withdrawal request from 5/11 was returned to us. Gathering the wire information and then processing a wire to send the returned funds to you took until 5/29 to be completed. We apologize that this instance took longer to handle, as returned funds are abnormal.
We've just upgraded our withdrawal system to include all new account linking procedures to hopefully prevent incorrect information from being used for linking in the future. We are still working on the withdrawal system to be faster as well.
If you need assistance, please contact us at [email protected]
Cheers!

Avoid this company at all costs I’ve never seen a company employ more scummy and poor business practices than this company. They will hold your money for years and then when they finally becomes available, they will they will tell you fake transfers have been initiated and still not sending you your money until you follow up a week later when you do not receive your money and then instead of the transfer taking three days, it will take three weeks. It will take three weeks no bank transferring the world takes three weeks they just do not have your money available even after you’ve sold it this is some type of giant Ponzi scheme or something, but avoid this at all costs

STAY AWAY!!
Stay as far away from this company as possible. After being an investor on their platform for years and seeing negative returns, I decided to sell my entire portfolio. I initiated that process in June 2025. It's now April 2026 and they haven't been able to sell even half of the total portfolio and those that they have sold have been at a significant loss. During this whole time, I am still being charged for their monthly storage fee and additional fees for "early liquidation." The shady practices of this business make me believe that they never even purchased the wine they said in the first place so I requested to have one of the cases shipped to me. They advertise how easy it is to do so. I can tell you from first hand experience, it is anything but easy. I've been emailing back and forth just to get a shipping quote. Still nothing finalized. From their initial estimates, it looks like to ship a $225 case of wine that it will cost me $250 in shipping, 10% fuel fee (whatever that means), an "early liquidation fee," and taxes on top of that. And shipping will take an additional 3-4 months because they need to make sure the bottles are in "pristine condition." This whole company is a complete fraud. Stay away

Vinovest is a gigantic scam
Vinovest is a gigantic scam. I have had over $20,000 in wine here for over five years. I've experienced nothing but losses, and I've had everything for sale for over two and a half years, with only three bottles selling. Every single metric they talk about on their site is nothing but a complete lie.
I have even discounted my bottles at 15% off everything on face value, and they have still been all sitting for well over a year. This company is a liar. They do not provide any customer support, and I've never felt more used and scammed as a customer. I don't know if I will ever get my remaining $15,000 out. At this rate, it will take seven years. After the five and a half years I've already been there, trying to liquiodateat major discounted rates. They will not send me my wine; they are scammers.

Scammy company
Scammy company, preying on 2020 inflated money and expectations. Whatever you put in, just consider it a loss. So much is wrong with this company I don't even know where to start. Just pay attention to reviews and Reddit if you have any doubts.
Re: their response. False. They have sent no message.
Update July 9 2026: Still a scammy company that should not be in existence, preying on customers (intentionally or not). Time will tell. And no, they have not reached out as response below claims.

RUN AWAY! Don't touch this platform.
I was only tiny bit happy I sold a tiny portion of the wines, but it turns out ALL the funds withdrawn needs to wait 90 days for no obvious reasons. I'VE NEVER SEEN A PLATFORM DOES SUCH A LONG PERIOD OF HOLD OF THE MONEY.
They're just making money by getting your money and keeping them.

I've requested liquidation of my account and withdrawal of all my funds numerous times. I finally sold my big loss wine for just $10 to try and get completely out of Vinovest. Sadly, I agree with the other reviewers that this is either a company that is in deep financial trouble or they are just a scam. Still keeping my fingers crossed that they'll send me my funds.

Hi Jeff,
We apologize that you felt the need to list your wine so low to sell it. Checking back into our communications, it looks like we offered to add a 15% discount to your listing multiple times but never got a response. Typically, we see faster sales for wine that is not in its ideal selling window by adding a small discount (10-20%).
It looks like your withdrawal was processed 3/21 so the account is now closed. If you need any further help, please let us know.
Cheers!

Its wine Stop Complaininy
Its wine. Wine is a long term investment. I see so many irresponsible people giving negative comments on here. What do you expect? Go and get a crate of wine keep it for 3 months and auction it on e-bay and see how you get on. I have a portfolio. I sold some. Sure it took a while. But it got done. Stop moaning. This is a 5 to 15 year play. Not some crypto rocket. Always had good interactions with all at Vinovest. Seems most if not all of the negative reviewers just wanted a fast buck. Wrong asset class.
