Getting worse and worse

Getting worse and worse. Drinks getting more expensive. They are trading on attracting a liberal and lgbt crowd but taking that for granted. Last night, zero entertainment or effort to have a last night party which frankly goes against what Virgin is meant to be about. Other cruise lines do this better

Good in parts

Good in parts. The booking was easy because they were taking my money but things went down hill fast. I spent two days tryng to check in and two days on the phone to so called "sailor services" without success. On the 5th day I was able to check in and in fairness they upgraded me to a balcony. On arrival at the port embarkation was like a cattle market. I have only crusied once before with P&O and that was a really nice, relaxed embarkation process, Virgin's was not. The room and ship were nice. I kept away from the main pool because of the weather, too many rainbows. Food was pretty good but best restaurants were always fully booked way in advance. Excursions seemed very pricey to me but perhaps I am out of date. Personally I wouldn't cruise with Virgin again.

Life on board was a dream

The booking process was easy and smooth. The staff were very friendly, professional and extremely helpful. Food was abundant, desserts were fantastic. Overall a memorable dining experience. Life is a dream onboard but summer time is too hot for comfort in the islands. Bimini beach was too crowded however the blue skies and remarkable cloud formations more than compensate for the discomfort.

I loved the Valiant Lady

I loved the Valiant Lady. It was my first trip on this ship and my first experience on a ship for ages 18+. The staff was amazing. I enjoyed dining at different restaurants each evening (all included), as well as in the galley, where I could have breakfast and salads each afternoon. I appreciated the vegan options, though I wish there were more varieties of vegan ice cream. The recommendations I would make are, first, to upgrade the evening shows. I've only been on a few other cruise lines and am relatively new to cruises, but the offering of performances was not equal to other lines. Also, felt the off-shore excursions were very expensive, and there were not enough descriptions of things to do in each city if we did not take excursions. I would have liked to enjoy a beach, especially with 100-degree temperatures, but saw no opportunities. I did enjoy the gym, karaoke bar, and the game room and tables. Overall, I would still give the cruise a 5-star rating.

Here's the terrible customer service…

Here's the terrible customer service you can expect from Virgin! I was shopping on the website and wanted to get to the payment screen so I could get a quote for full price or deposit so I could write it down, and instead of a payment screen, it literally booked the voyage for me using the card I had on file. There was no clear "PAY NOW" button or anything. I tried to click the back button once I realized the loading screen was suspiciously long, but apparently it was too late, I was booked, completely by accident. I immediately got into queue for the customer service chat, waited half an hour only to get booted out of the chat completely without ever talking to someone, and it wouldn't reconnect and said no agents were available, even though chat should have still been available for another 2hrs. So then I immediately got on the phone to call for assistance. I could barely hear the agent, terrible delay and garbled sounding on the phone. I simply wanted to immediately cancel so I could go back to shopping and picking my cruise later. Finally got my dilemma across, only to be informed that I would lose my deposit and all the MNVV perks permanently if I cancelled, even though I had booked less than an hour ago, and by mistake because of their terrible website flow! Agent put me on hold to check with a supervisor, only to come back and tell me I was out of luck. This is how you lose customers. Why would I want to rebook now, after having this experience, and losing my deposit and future voyage credits?!? Shame on Virgin.

Terrible Virgin Experience, Book a Celebrity Cruise Instead

Terrible experience with Sailor Services on board as a first-time Virgin customer. Upon boarding, we were shocked to learn our cabin had been changed without any prior notice or explanation. The new room was less desirable, and despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue through Sailor Services, the staff seemed indifferent and offered no meaningful solutions or compensation. No upgrades, credits, or even a sincere apology were provided to make up for the inconvenience, leaving us feeling completely undervalued as guests. The overall onboard experience fell far short of expectations for a premium cruise line. From inconsistent service to a lack of proactive problem-solving, it was disappointing from start to finish. I do not recommend Virgin Voyages and would highly suggest booking with Celebrity instead, which delivered 10/10 customer service and a genuinely superior onboard experience. Their team went above and beyond to ensure satisfaction something Virgin failed to do entirely. Save yourself the frustration and choose Celebrity.

Do your research

Let’s make this clear the ship and cruise itself was great. Many areas on the ship were made for relaxation but does EVERY show have to be raunchy! The worst part was the Turks port! DO YOUR HOMEWORK we were docked on the driest least appealing side with only the ocean's beauty redeemed this stop. There definitely was some type of deal with the cruise line to bring tourist there to spend money on magnets and tshirts. We took a tour and it was horrible a wasted $170 and three hours to be shown every place that was closed or dried up. And this was one of the cheapest tours. This is time we can’t get back. There is a problem when you see more mean donkeys than people! We heard the tour guide drone on and on about what used to be with us FINALLY going to a desolate beach that we were chased away from because donkeys kept getting in our bags. Do your research! Where we docked was NOT what we envisioned as these lush and beautiful beaches. SO DISAPPOINTING! @VirginVoyages shame on you! Five days, two ports and one port was TRASH! When we got to Bimini we were told it was a 25 minute walk. 45 minutes later we were picked up by an empathetic driver to drive still five more minutes all the while being accosted by locals to rent a golf cart for $100 a day. This cruise line was more interested in building up the local economy than the comfort of paying vacationers!!

Alaska Trip

Had a great time cruising virgin voyages to Alaska. Would do it again in a heartbeat I just wish they had a longer trip to Alaska all the food on the ship was above average we ate at their restaurants each one of them for the one week trip. Virgin voyages is no one under 18 so that's a plus. Lots to do on the ship you won't get bored the shows are good I think they could be a little better though all in all I would certainly Cruise this line again.

An excellent cruise line

An excellent cruise line. We have an enjoyed our three itineraries and would say Virgin stands out for food, entertainment and atmosphere. The restaurants are included and are of excellent quality. The entertainment is generally streets ahead of other cruise lines I’ve been on, with a handful of exceptions. Other passengers also make it a pleasant experience. Drinks aren’t cheap but we’re also at the slightly lower end in my experience. The loyalty programme is the best I’ve experienced. The original straightforward pricing structure worked well, I do not understand why they changed to charging gratuities separately because that effectively conceded the straightforward price concept.

Customer service is absolutely abysmal

Customer service is absolutely abysmal. They just don’t respond to emails. Took me weeks just to make a simple administrative change to my booking. Completed their online web form (which has a restrictively small character allowance), they emailed me for full details. Sent these back and never got a response. Emailed to follow up, no response. Called them, didn’t apologise for not actioning or responding but said they made the change on the call, they hadn’t. Emailed a complaint, no response. Forwarded the complaint to alternative email address, no response. Used web form again to request status of my complaint, they emailed me and asked me to forward them my complaint yet again. Did so, no response. Wasted an hour of my time on their live chat service, again no apology for not having actioned previously but said they’d now done it. Requested written confirmation it had been done and got an email saying “the change you requested has been made” without actually confirming what that change was! Incredibly infuriating overall. Nearly a month, 9 attempts at contact, hours of my time all just to change my name after getting married. Still half expecting to get turned away from my honeymoon because I’ve got no faith my name will be correct.

I would consider traveling on Virgin again

Overall, I had a good experience, but there were a few areas that could be improved. The food was average and lacked variety. I was also disappointed that there was an additional charge for all seafood dishes except salmon. The pool was quite small for the number of passengers onboard. During the afternoon of one of the "At Sea" days, the pool became overcrowded, and there were even clumps of hair floating in the water, making it less enjoyable. On the positive side, I appreciated that the cruise was adults-only, which created a more relaxed atmosphere. I also liked that gratuities were included in the overall price, making budgeting easier. My cabin was compact but comfortable, and I especially enjoyed having a balcony. The room attendants provided outstanding service throughout the cruise. Service in one of the main dining rooms was slower than expected, likely because our server did not have additional support. However, the service from the rest of the crew was excellent. I also appreciated that the buffet was covered for food safety, which was a nice touch. Finally, the booking process was easy and hassle-free. Despite a few drawbacks, I would consider sailing with Virgin Voyages again.

We had a great time per usual however…

We had a great time per usual however we did notice some changes on this trip. First of all, we looked the splash of romance, which, on this trip only gave us a box of chocolates, use of the spa facilities, which was average at best, and a bottle of champagne, which I don't drink. On my next trip, I will put that money towards a room upgrade. We also noticed that the staff was not as accommodating, and the sailors were a bit rude. An example being wearing bed wear to the restaurants, bathing suits without coverups to the restaurants, drunken behavior, bringing personal speakers to the pool for everyone to hear. We saw our room attendant, maybe only once or twice and we neever met or saw the captain of the ship. Prior to our trip, we had difficulty with the app and website, which never was really resolved. I really hope that with all of the new programs Virgin is implementing to attract more clientele that their quality of service and guidelines remain top-tier. I definitely saw a difference on this trip.

First the good

First the good. The ship is beautiful, the crew is extraordinarily well trained, and the food is is an honest 5stars. The Alaskan Inner Passage is simply breathtaking; it was amazing! Now the bad. Midway through our cruise, we noticed a $269 Spa charge from my sailors app for a “Long cut and blow dry”, which is funny because I am nearly bald! So I went down to Sailor Services, who were very nice and zero helpful, who said that it was booked on my app and that I was the only one who could do that. So I went to the Spa manger, told her my story, showed her my bald head and her reply was that I booked it, I didn’t show up, and that there’s nothing she can do about the charge that I incurred. So essentially, someone at Virgin Voyages quite literally stole $269 from me. It’s not a huge sum of money, but I would have allocated it differently than a hair styling! So Sailors beware, Virgin Voyages have some shady subcontractors who are not above making you pay for their mistakes. We enjoyed our cruise but will be unlikely to sail with them again. Too bad Sir Richard, others are sullying your good name, Sir.

Good experience

Ship was clean and new looking. Food was tasty and flavorful. Ship offered limited selections of food. Entertainment was fair, not enough quality production shows. Crew was very friendly. TV audio needs improvement.

WARNING!!!

Warning to anyone booking with @VirginVoyages: our recent 50th birthday trip on the Valiant Lady was "all fur coat and no knickers." What was supposed to be a luxury celebration was a total disaster. ❌ Hostile Security Incident: My husband was blocked from ordering drinks for 48 hours for an "investigation" we were never explained. We were hauled into three meetings and eventually cleared, but security refused to provide any report or reason for the stress they caused. ❌ Birthday Ruined: I pre-arranged a special 50th birthday cake at The Wake. After a massive wait, they served a "chocolate blob" that looked like a child made it. Truly embarrassing. ❌ Substandard Food & Facilities: The Galley had zero variety, the food was consistently over-salted, and the jacuzzis were filthy with visible green mold and no working bubbles. ❌ Hidden Fees & Rude Staff: From "included" dining that actually has constant upsells to multiple daily bank authorizations we weren't warned about, the lack of transparency is shocking. Staff were dismissive, unhelpful, and at times flat-out rude. We expected a high-end experience but felt alienated and stressed. @VirginVoyages, we are still waiting for a formal explanation and the security footage of the incident that ruined our holiday. Do better. 🚢⚓️ #VirginVoyages #CruiseFail #ValiantLady #BadService

Good product, bad after sales service /booking system

Good product , but useless booking system and after sales service Great product ....... Useless booking system and communication from sailor services ..... Deflection the whole way and no attempt to deal to the problem at hand . They offer various currencies to pay in ...if you select your local currency , all the wheels fall off with the booking system and credits that are supposed to be credited to your account for the cruise .... It was a fiasco on 2 cruises I booked . For both myself and my travel agent ...... If you are going to offer a service ....make sure it works !!!!! No one could resolve the fact I basically got charged and extra 1000nz dollars for my cruise over the initial advertised price and I got an (inferior) aft cabin when I requested a mid cabin during booking ..... Nothing was even don't to rectify this while on board ...... Poor show Virgin Voyages . 😔😔😔

Hooked on Virgin Voyages

I recently got back from an incredible Virgin Voyages cruise sailing out of Barcelona, and I am officially hooked! The adults-only atmosphere completely changes the game, offering a vibe that is sophisticated, high-energy, and deeply relaxing all at once. The onboard entertainment was fresh and modern, and the food was phenomenal, including the specialty dining that's included your dining package. A major highlight of the itinerary was stopping along the coast, especially an absolute dream of a day taking a custom driving tour in Nice, France. Between the gorgeous ship design, top-tier service, and unforgettable ports, Virgin Voyages nailed every detail. It was the perfect mix of luxury and exploration, and I'm already figuring out when I can book my next voyage!

Penalized for Speaking Up: My First Virgin Voyages Cruise

⭐☆☆☆☆ This was my first cruise, and I chose Virgin Voyages because of its reputation for providing an exceptional experience. I spent months saving and planning for this Alaska voyage, and one of the biggest reasons I booked it was to enjoy the incredible scenery from my Sea Terrace balcony cabin. Instead, my vacation became one of the most stressful and emotionally exhausting trips I've ever taken. During the cruise, I experienced repeated racist and homophobic comments from another passenger over the course of more than two days. The situation became serious enough that I reported it to ship security. I appreciate the professionalism of the security team and the crew members who listened to my concerns. Unfortunately, after reporting the incident, the sailor I was originally rooming with decided he no longer wanted to share the cabin with me. As a result, I was forced to relocate. What was especially disappointing was being told that moving cabins would cost me approximately $300. I was also downgraded from the Sea Terrace balcony cabin I had specifically chosen and paid for to an interior cabin four decks lower in the middle of the ship. I understand that Virgin Voyages cannot control the actions of every guest. However, I do not believe that the person who reported inappropriate behavior should be the one who loses the accommodations they paid for or incurs additional costs because of someone else's actions. Instead of spending my first cruise enjoying Alaska's breathtaking scenery from my balcony, I spent much of my vacation meeting with security, changing cabins, and trying to salvage what remained of my trip. I also lost a friendship of more than 15 years because I chose to speak up rather than stay silent. I left this cruise feeling disappointed, emotionally drained, and like the vacation I had invested so much time and money into was taken away from me. I have contacted Virgin Voyages directly and hope they will make this right by reimbursing the relocation costs and providing compensation—ideally a Future Voyage Credit that allows me to experience Alaska the way I originally booked it: in a Sea Terrace balcony cabin. I truly wanted my first Virgin Voyages experience to make me a lifelong sailor. Instead, it left me questioning whether guests who report serious issues are adequately protected from bearing the consequences themselves. @VirginVoyages
