I have made a transfer from Dubai to China that was canceled more than 3 weeks ago. To this date I am not able to get my money back from Western Union. I am calling them everyday and they keep telling me tomorrow I shall get the mony transferred to my bank but nothing happens. I have started to suspect something wrong and it looks that Wetern union will steal my money. They are liars and dishonest.

Western Union Rewards is a scam. I have been sending money monthly to the same country in the same currency for 2 years now, and the transfer fee to send has always been the same. This month, I decided to redeem my points that I accumulated with every transaction. While doing the transaction with the reward applied, my fee was said to be $0. Guess what? When I checked my transaction history, the fee was applied, but it gets better: the fee DOUBLED, and my reward only covered half the fee. Essentially, redeeming rewards is useless. I called Western Union CA; the agent on the phone mentioned that they do not see my reward applied in their system (while I can see it on my transaction history), then changed their tune to hide behind their fine print stating, "Exchange rates and fees shown are estimates. They can vary depending on factors like transfer amount, receiver’s country or payment and delivery method. To check the total, continue with the transfer." Same payment method, same amount, same receiver country, and somehow the day I choose to apply my reward, the fee doubles.
