Nightmare. Unsafe for Women.
Nightmare. Cluster-F***. Unsafe for Women. I have probably 50 emails back and forth between me and Whimstay personnel. Let's go over the issues: 1) Bait and Switch accommodations. Condo was unsafe, in a party building had no locks on the patio door and men were on that same patio in the morning. I didn't sleep a wink. 2) It took an "act of Congress" to get out of the booking and I had to do a charge-back on my credit card because even though Whimstay was the lessor of record with the credit card, they kept claiming the refund was up to the scammer property owner who failed to put proper locks on the balcony door and also failed to notify me (the lessee) that men would be on the balcony during the stay. 3) Epic fail by Whimstay customer service. Somehow they got my first review removed, but I have emails proving this all happened. The only reason I'm almost "whole" (not 100%, but almost) is because I had to open a dispute on my credit card for the massive breach and failure to deliver what was purchased. The lady at Whimstay was mostly nice, but her common sense and decency didn't exist and she chose to go with what her bosses said vs. helping a woman traveler stay safe.

We're sorry your stay didn't go the way it should have. As the booking platform, we partner with hosts who manage their own properties and work to ensure they provide great experiences for travelers. The broken balcony door lock and undisclosed construction/cleaning were the host's responsibility, and shouldn't have happened. Our team worked with you that same night to find another property, issued a credit for a large percentage of the original booking so you can rebook another stay, directly covered a fee from the new host so you wouldn't have to pay it, and advocated for you until the original host agreed to a significant refund. We always work to ensure travelers are taken care of even when they encounter issues with a host. Our team has since met with the host to ensure this experience isn't repeated. We hope to help find you another stay in the future so another host can provide a great experience.
Pleasantly surprised booking with a new company
I came across Whimstay and never heard of or used them before so I was a little skeptical and hesitant but I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was perfect and easy from the booking process to checking out. The rental was amazing, the host was wonderful and the location was exactly what I wanted.

Saved a few hundred approximately…
Saved a few hundred approximately 300.00 booking with Whimstay. I had no issues and was worried because it was my first time using Whimstay but I would diffently use again.

Perfect place!
Check in was easy. Glad there was always someone in the lobby checking in on me. The place was nice and clean and in a perfect location for me right in between the loop and the west loop.

Lower price on rental, friendly helpful customer support, clunky communication
I appreciate that I think this platform may offer lower prices than other room share sites, and I will say, both times I spoke to a representative they were extremely kind and friendly. The system itself is a bit clunky however, I never knew if I was emailing my host or whimstay or both, due to there not being an app it was all through email too, and as we all know emails can be missed, sent to spam. I would likely use the platform again, but it’s definitely not without its bugs to work out.

Lower Rates, Easy to get Ahold of - Smooth Experience!
I had never used Whimstay before, but we needed to book a place relatively quickly for 3, and their price was quite a bit less than VRBO/ AirBnB. They were really easy to get ahold of, quick to answer me, and pleasant to deal with. The place and the price worked out really well for us. I have only good things to say. Thank you!
