Length of a vine does not determine the age. Regarding health of the vines, we request that all customers send us pictures of what the plants look like upon receipt if they are unsatisfactory that way we can resolve any issues immediately. Please go ahead and send pictures of the vines as they are now so we can take a look. We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible!

Fig trees do not do very well in Virginia unless they are protected in some way, especially after how back-and-forth the weather was this past winter. Wild temperature swings of 20+ degrees are hard on fig trees and can cause them to die to the ground (or die completely).
