I came across a WorkWithShadow ad on Instagram advertising a subscription at a low price. After signing up, I was charged EUR 109.63 for three separate items I did not explicitly agree to (7-Day Plan, Accountability Coach, AI Companion).
I immediately requested a full refund under my legal right of withdrawal (EU Directive 2011/83/EU, 14-day cooling-off period). I had not used the service at all.
The company refused, citing an internal policy requiring me to complete 7 consecutive lessons before being eligible for a refund — a condition that directly contradicts EU consumer law. They offered 25%, then 50%, but never the full amount I was entitled to.
I had to open a chargeback through my bank to recover the full amount.
The lesson: what is advertised and what you are charged are two different things. And recovering your money requires escalating to your bank, not trusting their support team.

This is my 3rd review as they have not gotten back to me on the last 2.
I have not received a reference number from them either.
I purchased a monthly subscription from WorkWithShadow and approved that payment. A few minutes later, a separate $139 Accountability Coach charge was taken from my account without my authorisation. My bank has confirmed that these were two separate payments.
I contacted WorkWithShadow immediately. Instead of resolving the disputed coaching charge, they cancelled my subscription without first explaining that they would require me to complete seven consecutive lessons to qualify for a full refund. I am now unable to complete those lessons because they cancelled my access.
This also conflicts with the guaranteed 30-day money-back guarantee displayed when I signed up.

This is a SCAM they charge you without your consent and then tell you, you need to complete program to the consider give you reimburstment for something you no auth. They sell you as will hepl you for wellness but the do not do nothing.
They steal from you, deceive you, and then try to force and pressure you into something you no longer want after taking advantage of you and taking your money. They keep trying to manipulate you by hiding behind a so-called policy that they never even provide or show you.

Don’t get trapped: undisclosed fees and impossible refund conditions at Workwithshadows
Workwithshadows uses slick marketing to sell you a “coach” without ever clearly disclosing the price of their $250 service. Then, without my consent, they tack on an AI add-on for another $50.
When I asked for a cancellation and refund, the responses were a masterclass in evasion:
• First, they implied there would be no second-month charge (as if that fixed the unauthorized add-on).
• Then they insisted I “use the service for 7 days” before any refund could be considered—a neat trick, given my complaint was that I hadn’t used (or agreed to) the service in the first place.
• Only after I pushed back did they “offer” 25%, then 50%, and finally dangled a 100% refund if I used the service for 7 days—effectively turning their own refund guarantee into a hurdle they control.
I ultimately recovered my money through my bank. Workwithshadows itself refunded nothing.
If you’re looking for transparency, clear pricing, and honest refunds, look elsewhere. This feels less like a self-improvement platform and more like a subscription trap wrapped in therapeutic language.
