Nightmare Return
I would strongly caution anyone against buying from 1stDibs unless you are absolutely certain you will never need to return the item. Customer service is slow, evasive, and repeatedly dodges direct questions to avoid giving clear or satisfactory answers, while passing responsibility back and forth between themselves and the seller. In my case, the seller initially refused to process a refund, then falsely claimed they had provided customs information to release the return—something DHL directly confirmed was untrue. The seller also gave inconsistent and inaccurate information about customs and origin documentation, seemingly to delay or avoid accepting the return, and this behaviour was not meaningfully challenged by 1stDibs. What should have been a straightforward refund turned into weeks of chasing, contradictions, and procedural stalling. For a platform that markets itself as premium, the lack of accountability and buyer protection is alarming—if there is any uncertainty about a purchase, do not buy here, as the return process is a nightmare.

Not receiving login link
The system keeps telling me I already have an account and it has sent a one-time logon link. I've checked my inbox and my spam - nothing.
Looking at the reviews I'm not the first to experience this.
I've messaged support to help, but now I've seen some of the reviews I think I'll go without the £2,049 watch I was interested in.

This is a remarkably helpful and fair company that is a pleasure to deal with. They don't give their rugs away, but they are very competitive and friendly in negotiations.
