Most reviewers were consistently let down by their negative experience overall. Customers expressed deep frustration over receiving heavily damaged products, incorrect book titles, and unexpected extra fees charged after completing their purchases. People also encountered severe delivery delays, with several orders failing to arrive entirely, lacking proper tracking, or being mistakenly sent to wrong addresses. Some reviewers were happy with finding hard-to-find reference books at very reasonable prices and receiving them quickly in pristine condition without issues. Consumers additionally appreciated surprisingly prompt shipping times and completely flawless items that wonderfully satisfied all their specific personal reading and academic needs.
Auto-generated from all reviews of this business. For reference only.I was ready to place an order for five books, but changed my mind when the shipping rates were higher than the value of the books. Not sure why: there are options out there, and I've purchased dozens of books from Abebooks in the past with only two cases of not receiving books. That was in the past but the chance of future orders from me looks bleak because of shipping costs.
I would NEVER use Abe Books again because prices evidently don’t include adequate shipping depending on your location. So, that should’ve been where I aborted the transaction but I needed the book. The books were rated “VERY GOOD”, however, I would rate them as FAIR, at best! The books are warped, dirty, and loaded with damaging personalization and tabs. Don’t waste your time here as you’ll pay a lot more for a lot, lot less.
